No, please, going there is like torture to my soul. Talking about it gives me goosebumps. Why this is a thing is over my head.

I like cute stuff so I'd definitely go to one if it wasn't as much of a show as in that video. Like if you just entered, sat down and had a girl in a maid outfit come ask for your order in character and then just interact with you again as she arrived with the order then it would be nice. But all that magical girl chanting stuff is just too much.

Yep, super cringey. The point of a fantasy is that it can't be replicated by real life. Maid cafes just make that sad truth more visible. I don't think they should be around, but who knows.

I make sure to eat at one every time they have one at Anime Conventions in our country. The food is expensive, but being served by a maid with the complete "Okaerinasai, Goshujin-sama" makes it feel worth it.

I won't comment on the looks since that's relative to your tastes.

The main issue is when creeps take things way to far or douchebags come in being douchebags.

The one maid cafe I went to said at the very bottom "Please do not ask us for our personal information as we are very shy blah blah blah" For them to HAVE to write that in their menu means that there have been many incidents of people being a bit too aggressive about getting the info of these girls.

What do you think these nice girls would do for one grand?

I've only been to one; the @home in Akihabara.
I didn't find it cringey, and i just used it as a chance to practice my Japanese.
I really enjoyed it, although it was embarrassing when they took my picture.

1) 1k isn't much
2) It depends on the girl and this is a general statement not one specific to maid a café
