| 'Hey Lovepon, can we talk about the execution thing?' 'Hey cat girl, want to drop the chuuni cat speak?' 'How about we not so quickly accept someone claiming to see dead people?' There is so much more that needs to be said. Those things can't even be excused as mystery at this point. The writing is so bad. It's jumpy and purposely lets you on with half of the information every time. That's such cheap suspense. |

| Lovepon tells people she should've drowned MC last night. Still gets ignored. It's funny no one can remember Ass-Chin's name. Wow. 5 minutes in and Angry-kun hasn't yelled yet. Glasses-kun being the voice of reason and pointing out a lot of things. Well. Angry-kun just yelled only 7 minutes in. Finally! Lion gets some character development!....But she sees dead people...All right then. Ok. So why in the hell is MC following the girls to their house? Some other group of girls trick MC to go guard the village for them and offer him candy. That's it! MC is a mentally retarded puppy! =D Trip Advisor Dahara is outrageously annoying being happy all the god damn time. If he dies or gets injured, I'm sure he'll be like "All right! Lets go to bed guys! YAY"....Fuck that guy. Lion to MC: "You just accept everything and play along with everyone"... SO HE IS A RETARDED PUPPY. Lion can actually see people who are about to die instead of dead people. Cool. Lovepon is insane and she already has tools that are covered in blood already. Black smoke?! ARE WE GETTING THE SMOKE MONSTER FROM LOST!? Oh wait...it was just Masaki creating a fire...Must be bi-polar or something. The tone in her voice changes a lot. Now that giant thing. Don't know what to make of it. Saw it was plush doll earlier. Sorry if I misunderstand anything you are saying, but yes, there is original material to compare it to. The manga has an additional chapter 0 (which could very well be modeled after something that Okada Mari wrote and got rejected by the director, going by an interview with her) and it also doesn't follow the exact order of events portrayed in the anime, while still telling the same story. Chapter 3 is approximately the same point as episode 3. Why do you want to wait for the manga to end before comparing it? Going by that idea, we'd also have to stop discussing the current episodes. |

| This show is an absolute mess of characters and mental rape tactics and this episode serves to cement that fact for me. The characters I'm not sure if the writer is intentionally not making sense with the plot and character behaviors or if it's just bad story telling. The worst part is that I continue to watch because the end of each episode leaves you with even more unanswered questions and you just feel the need to see if your speculations are correct. |

Higurashi is one about a mysterious village and a festival. Its creepy as hell, it has written well, and it doesn't end up as an unintentional comedy. The first season is the questions arc, so if you don't know what the hell is going on then you are watching it right, so don't question yourself. It's also brutally violent and gory. |

I don't really have the time to translate the complete interview with Okada Mari into English as well today, but I will try and do it at some point since it actually does answer a lot of questions about how this anime was made. Just so much, Okada Mari is not the writer. Her job was to combine every idea regarding the story into one single plot. The series idea was a pitch by Mizushima, who then used his method of working on the series, which is more of a work-in-process approach. The team of individual episode-directors and writers came together for several meetings and pitched individual ideas, while only certain events were supposed to be set in stone from the start. Okada herself said that this approach meant rewriting the script many times, over and over again. Sometimes even going back to episodes that were just about to be made and rewrite certain portions because they didn't fit with current ideas about the series progression anymore. I think a lot of the series overall kind of all-over-the-place feel comes from this "team-writing" approach. It could very well be a matter of too many cooks. |

| How Lovepon isn't locked somewhere yet is beyond me. The characters act pretty irrational, but I guess you can't expect much of people who ran away from their lives to live somewhere (nobody knows where) in the middle of mountains. That thing in the end o.o |
| Gah Mitsumune is so gullible lol. The friction between the faction of Speedstar and Koharun/Valkana is increasing. I really wish they have shown what everyone has saw since they all saw something different, but seeing that giant thing (it looks like a zombie-fied version of the penguins from Mawaru Penguindrum) that is probably it. I can't wait to see what happens with Jack. |

| all throughout, this episode was big brother: lost village edition with everyone bitching at each other like it was time for a vote. then it became the sixth sense with lion claiming the mc was a ghost. also the most baffling thing was when everyone was surprised that lovepon wanted to kill someone, when that's all that ever comes out of her mouth. THAT ENDING, LOL also,  but finally, that ending ruins my hope that there would be no supernatural elements. aw nuts can't explain that without magic. well, maybe a hallucination, but they both saw it at the same time, unless they were seeing different things? this is just wishful thinking on my part, i was really hoping for no supernatural elements |

| I don't... I don't even know what to say at this point... This is so bad its hilarious. I was laughing so much at that ending that I don't know whether to say I loved it or hated it. It comes across like somebody saw the ending to Lost, thought "this is a genuinely good way to write a mystery story", and decided to imitate it! Which of course makes for some fantastic unintentional comedy, but this is meant to be a mystery, and in that regard its, well, its as bad as Lost's ending. Its enough to make me wonder whether this is actually meant to be a comedy, and the studio just didn't tell anyone because that would ruin the joke |

| i also had a feeling this giant looked similar to something that has to do with mitsumune since everyone is seeing stuff differently than others in a way that relates to them . | So let me get this straight. The most paranoid guy of the lot trusts Lovepon of all people? That literally makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, especially after she admitted to trying to drown Mitsumune, something which barely anyone bothered to acknowledge yet again. Also, are those other girls in cahoots with Lovepon and the military nerd duet? After all, they set Mitsumune up as a guard in the place where those three were waiting to catch him. Either way, literally nothing in this episode made sense, especially not that ending. |
| So basically.. everyone hears and sees different things they fear (or care about the most/is important in a way) to them. I still want to know what was knocking at the drivers window (or was it the door?) because ghosts can't really knock on things for the most part (but if it was actually his daughter I'll take it. :v) Happy guy kinda showed a dark streak.. when he glared at angry guy. So now I'm wondering if he's just super nice and happy to impress Koharun but he's actually not nice... I'd complain about annoying yan-chan but everyone already did. Hmm.. I do wonder what that lullaby means/represents. Though I don't think anyone really kills them but so much as that they kill each other or themselves by accident/in a panic. And I do wonder if the hallucinations are something done by humans or if the village is actually supernatural. |
