I don't even know what qualities "the savior of anime" would have. This implies that anime needed to be saved. What's it being saved from?

No idea, I didn't watch any of them.
Does anime need saving? I'm just making way through the catalogue of good anime that came out in the last 40 years so IDGAF. But I remember reading that the industry makes a profit.

"Savior of anime" isn't a term that makes a lot of sense to me. Sure, you can get a potentially awesome title among hundreds of generic seasonal ones, but if that title doesn't in turn influence future seasons and titles and push them to be better, take inspiration from that "savior", etc., I can't call it that.

The whole "savior of anime" thing is stupid. Each year there will be some good anime, some bad anime, and some mediocre anime released. Plus whether an anime is good, bad or mediocre is totally subjective anyways.

While in recent years it seems as though much more mediocre and bad anime have been released (at least by popular opinion) that doesn't mean every good/solid anime released is the savior of the industry.

Something that saved anime would be an anime that renewed interest and earned money which would be attack on Titan today I'd say.

They don't save quality just the industry.

Don't be ridiculous, Karamatsu is a total hunk
That's true tbh. I've actually had a strange urge of wanting to date him >.>

Wouldn't creativity lead to a super-interesting concept?
The concept itself is six brothers doing funny things. That's not very interesting if you just read it literally. The creativity comes within the skits.

Anime never needed any saving. All those titles in the op and the usual 'savior of anime' are just the ones that are gathering a lot of attention with the mainstream audience.

I guess what people mean when they say 'savior of anime' is that it'll appeal to a wider audience and attract more newcomers. Not saying that all those titles are bad, if anything they're entertaining. I suppose you could compare the concept to a AAA game made to appeal to everyone.

It'd have to be pretty good to save it at this point.
Anyone who doesn't hate anime hasn't watched enough anime.
