this anime takes itself too seriously, i can only watch it as a comedy with japanese comments scrolling along the video.

Curiously, do you understand what they're saying? What sort of comments are we talking about?

The episode wasn't terrible, but it wasn't enjoyable either. Had a tough time watching Taito there. He probably could've (and should've) been killed a couple more times while he was blabbering. I wasn't too bothered by the tentacles, but reading that it wasn't in the source material left my baffled. Then why the hell add that in? Bad decision there. The part at the end with Haruka was interesting though. Makes me question her feelings for Taito a bit.

this didn't make any sense. for someone so powerful Himea never really does anything. wtf was Bahlskra? where did Gekkou go? I just don't know...

maybe Haruka isn't just the normal girl without a chance but I really wish this would pick up and make some sense.

I'm enjoying this but I bet it would have been better as 24 episodes from the little bit of the LN I read. Taito needs some sort of power up so he doesn't have to die 6 times before he gets stuff done well at least he isn't spineless.

I'm going to end up reading the LN after this finishes just to see the differences.

Ok it's official this anime really reminds me of Fate/Stay Night. Although the way they have transitioned through the story so far feels a little too rushed to me.

A number of things come to me when I think of fate/stay night. Rushed isn't one of them. Please don't make such a untrue comparison.

I will admit that this pales compared to the light novel. At least the novel had me interested up until the last chapter of the first novel which ended in such a stereotypical fashion that it stopped me reading any further. It's not as if the novel was a masterpiece or anything(In fact I would class it as decent) but the anime adaptation is abysmal.

It's certainly your choice if you don't wish to continue, but to be fair, the first volume is best described as merely the prologue to the beginning of the story. You'd need to read, at least, four or five volumes in to start to have a real grasp of what's going on, both in terms of characterization and the overall story.

So, much in the same way as you don't like others to make biased judgments of Fate/Stay Night, please don't do the same for Itsu-Ten as I don't believe you've read enough to make a comprehensive call on it, "decent" or otherwise.

well, it's nice to know that you think the anime is shit, though right now, I don't have any negative thoughts towards the anime anymore (ok, I'm lying a little, but bear with me) ^_^

though, with regards to the novel, allow me to voice out my humble comments (geez, I just read a bunch of japanese correspondence, so I'm in kind of super polite mode now ^_^)

by the last chapter do you mean the afterword, which the author tells you what volume 1 is for? perhaps, you might want to read that before making a judgement in case you haven't.

it's not a masterpiece.... hmm, if I may ask, what LNs are you comparing against, and with regards to which aspects (characterization, story, creativity, emotion, romance, etc.)? if I may ask, how many LNs have you read? just asking, no offense meant. I actually read a good many LNs. and IMHO, if we're talking about fantasies, there are not that many good fantasies around. in terms of EPIC fantasies, really very FEW, I'd say. Epic really means epic, and not narrow fantasies like SAO or Rental Magica (even though RM spans a wide range of concepts but still narrow if we consider scale and by the way I really love RM, one of the best and most underrated LNs of all times, but that's another story), just for your information ^_^

Oh btw, the first 4 volumes, rather than the 1st volume, makes up the prologue, well, though some will disagree with me and say that the first 6 volumes make up the prologue LOL (which means only 2 volumes of real story to date double LOL). either way, that's short considering that the author had written a prologue of 11 volumes of Denyuuden (22 to be exact considering backstories and side stories; I won't count Shinyuuden since it's written after Daiden despite its earlier time setting) to set the stage for Daiden. But like I said earlier, Kagami is God in EPIC fantasies. Epic here refers to 'Large Scale'. Which means its scale and concepts are so large and humongous that your mind would be mind-f*cked (not in the mystery or suspense manner but in how mindblowingly large things are) many times over. Though it has yet to reach the Denyuuden level because of the relatively less volumes. The fact that it takes multiple volumes to set up the beginning of the story just shows how much true Epic potential it has. It's better to split the prologue into multiple volumes than have thousand-page light novels like "Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon" (another infamously epic work), won't you agree? Of course the series has its own weakness, but story and characterization would not be those. :)

thanks for reading my long rant =)

Yeah, what this guy said too. ;D

Still, four or six volumes to make up just the prologue, huh? Chalk it up to my inexperience for never having heard of such a thing before.

My apologies for having underestimated you to such a degree, Kagami. Your awesomeness is greater than I had imagined.

.......gekkou got like a 5 minutes screentime D:
okay truthfully i have mixed feelings about this episode, I like that rena haruka is gonna play a bigger role and the censoring with the splattered blood thing instead of something ridiculous like the sunlight >_>
i didnt like how the only thing bahlskra did was torture taito and murdered him essentially 9 times ish and then left by the power of love .__.; not to mention himea goes all lovey dovey at the end asking taito to hug him (Derp says do me but she said daite so ill just use hug LOL)
i find the previews in this anime to be quite uninformative LOL

Edit: woops misplaced the slash LOL

Oho, so Haruka isn't just some ordinary girl eh? Not that I dislike Himea, but I'm still rooting for her.
Once the LN translation has progressed far enough, I'll go read that for the "full experience". We'll see what they have in store for the anime. Still kinda so-so at the moment.

Also fuck yeah tentacles. :>

So the so called super powerful vampire witch chick is...completely useless and never does anything to defend herself or Taito, (still).
Instead she breaks a mirror and turns into a whore. This is getting retarded..

What the hell was that at the end? Did Himea totally change or something? Lol
Good to see Taito has got some balls and is willing to die for Himea. <3
The plot thickens.. Haruka ain't a normal girl it seems. This is getting very interesting to me.

-Sigh- This whole personality business is turning into such a mess. In all likelihood, Himea did change again at the very end of the episode. That's another 'personality' in the original works, though this one should've come out a great deal sooner, not after Taito had already confessed his love for her.

Talk about yet another transparent and, what I'm sure will be, yet another tasteless dish of fanservice.

If you find Itsu-Ten's story that interesting, perhaps you should consider checking out the manga or light novel. They're much better than this.

What the hell just happened at the end? If Saito keeps living after the supposed 6 lives I'm going to rage.

It looks like Baalskra had a bit of an effect on the Himea we knew. Sort of a balance I would say. But since Baalskra is gone, the real Himea is finally unlocked.

Hmm, so many things have already happened and we're just in episode 4. I don't like how they seem to be rushing everything. I just hope they're not inventing more things along the way that isn't part of the source material, not that I'd know which is which because I have yet to read the LN.

Reading the manga after watching this episode wouldn't really help if you want to know more of the story, because at this point in time, parts of episode 4 have already gone beyond chapter 12 of the manga, the latest scanlated chapter as of this posting. Go and read the light novel translations instead.

Anyway, so that was Baalskra? I haven't encountered him in the manga yet, so I didn't know how he looked like. He looks like a male copy of Saitohimea, surprisingly. Don't tell me he's already finished though, because from what I know, Baalskra is treated by the many organizations after Himea like some kind of prime evil. It appears Haruka is some sort of unwitting sleeper agent for some other enemy behind the scenes, sent there to keep an eye on Taito and Himea.

Tentacle rape lol and the first meeting with Bahlskra! I do wonder what actually happened to Haruka, what's up with her seems she'll get a bigger role in all this!

Quite interesting story development, the plot is really getting better each episode!

Can someone explain me what does this show is trying to be?
Harem/ecchi/school comedy, psychological/horror or retarded shounen anime with talk, talk and more talk?
First episode was great and now with every new episode i watch the urge for pulling my eye balls out is stronger. What a waste.

Bahlskra taking control of Himea's body hmm, that's some interesting drama but she obviously chose Taito.
And it seems like Haruka is gonna be important as well, or more like going to fight against Himea because of her controlled brain (probably)
