The visuals in this anime never disappoint. The lofi music playing along with the random events happening around the city was beautiful. I love the pacing this anime has. It's comfy in a way

And so they start adapting volume 2, though they completely skipped the prologue of this volume as well as the scene with Tomokazu.

Can someone recommend some artists who make that kind of music they were listening to?
@alphadrenaline Nujabes. He's considered one of the greats. His music was featured heavily on Samurai Champloo.

A quintessential tune from Champloo: Aruarian Dance

And one my favorites Another Reflection

Nothing much to say, but I definitely liked this episode more than the last two episodes overall solely on the fact that nothing dramatic happened. The directing and calm atmosphere of the show continue to be the best aspect of this anime. Really like the lo-fi track, that's definitely my favorite kind of music to listen to while studying.

its now getting more to "hmmm, that encyclopedia senpai at work again..."

Gimai Seikatsu novel is amazing because it stops at the best part, while this kinda left you hanging.
kinda want to wait for everything but its 2 months away and i just cant.

compared it my relationship with my step sisters, its more "mild" for gimai seikatsu, Of course we don't date each other but we do have that awkward moment on the first month, the time we gel it, and the acceptances that we became "siblings". my case is she is older than me, both of them in fact. always gives me money, facetime on unexpected time just to say hi and "do you need money, i can send it to you" because right now im living on another country.

The atmosphere were spot on which i can relate my first month having 2 step sisters.
also yes they sometimes "jealous" when i talked about my past gfs, comment this and that... that as well spot on. something like these:

"Hoo... went out with A girl again ehhhh... she is not that pretty why bother you went out with her? Me and her? and you choose her? "
"You went out with B right, She is so wasted on you!! tell me how you able to asked her out?"

the most realistic part of this novel is how you paint the atmosphere and daily life with new step sister,
i'd say its pretty realistic.

Somewhat boring episode about nothing in particular, I feel like this problem didn't really warrant the whole episode dedicated to it, although them getting a bit closer through it is nice, I guess.

It's hopefully building something we all would enjoy.

The MC and FMC just don't have fun banter like how the MC has with the other characters
Humans only live for a hundred years, it is as unreal as a dream that ends in an instant. What is the point of a person living in this world? No more than just being on a journey, and witnessing interesting things. Although I do not want to die, I do not fear death. I am already on my right path, I have no regrets even if I die.

This show is so horribly slow and unrealistic. Do people really talk like that over there in japan? Feels like i'm watching robots.

Is anyone really getting something out of this show or are they all simps waiting for a payoff slogging through this mud of unrealistic conversations and interactions.
@Aapjuh I think the point of the show would be missed if the characters interacted normally or "realistically". This story is exploring cold, hollow people who very very slowly become something more. I like how slow and plodding it is, but I get how it would be seen as trite or boring too.

No , there are people there in this world , this is how their life is being , taking everything in their life step by step , slowly
yeah , it's realistic for me and for the people like me and for the people who just take everything in their life slowly because they don't want to be failures , they fear about sad , they care about everything so they take slow steps to make sure , everything is going to be okay , just okay , for you isn't realistic . so your life is just a roller coaster
and advise , don't underestimate other life's people, there are people there feel like this , lives like this , fear like this , feel like this , talk like this, so don't underestimate this
if you want to watch it or not. it's your choice
but I promise you. you will lose new experience if you didn't watch this anime , mark my word

I can really only ship Yuuta and Shiori. That other girl is either a total robot or severely autistic if she's literally incapable of interpreting basic emotions in literature unless she's experienced them herself. It's all so tiresome.

Ahh yes, some good ole' lo-fi. Man, this anime is so slow and makes me sleepy. I'm watching it sped up but it doesn't help. Saki likes Yuta but can't come to terms with how she feels.

Another extremely well directed episode. 24 minutes of Saki and Yuta talking and Yuta trying to help Saki improve her grades, but it breezes by because of the natural feeling conversations and direction.

Saki is slowly but surely opening up to Yuta more and their interactions feel a lot smoother now. Can you imagine saki from a couple episodes ago getting in Yuta’s face and asking for help with modern lit? Their heart to heart last week really helped.

It’s a bit ironic that Soseki’s soshiro is the work they’re going over and Saki talks about not understanding people who aren’t direct with their feelings while she herself isn’t honest with Yuta about how she feels for him lol.

Narasaka was only in the episode a couple of minutes but man she brought a fun energy that contrasted to the usual muted and subdued vibes. She might be a lil slow and have a brocon fetish, but she’s actually pretty smart academically and should be able to help Yuta improve Saki’s scores. Would never have guessed that from her sniffing fetish 😭

Yuta’s senpai’s music recs should also help. Sometimes good music can help you retain information as well. Another really solid episode and we are gradually seeing progress with Saki and Yuta’s relationship. Can’t wait for the next ep
@Marinate1016 may i ask how yuuta and saki's conversation breezed and felt natural? I was under the complete opposite assumption, could it be related to the translation for you maybe?

@Marinate1016 I've had about 6 relations so far and am 25 years old, I'm not asking about "social conventions", I'm asking what felt so natural about it? I watched this anime raw since I know Japanese and from a Japanese context it felt nothing but unnatural forced speech between two uninteresting hollow characters. I'm asking you if it was the translations fault that you felt the conversations they had were flowing naturally? Yes the reasons for the conversations were there but nothing said was natural and was it flowing in a natural way either..

how are you so sure that she isn't playing jokes on the Japanese tropes where people have fetishes on those stuff but she ACTUALLY has the fetishes?

Where are you getting these little cues that for example, "this character is a fetishist"? It is definitely not made clear in the anime has it been made clear even in the light novel itself. Deducing this and that just from little jokes and taking them as an actual real-life cue just from what is given until this point feels very weird and insufficient to me to say the least, it just felt like a delusional amount of bias so i asked if it was the fault of the translation/translator to your language.

I have mixed feeling, I'm liking the anime but at the same time everything feels a bit over dramatic, even the direction, which i'ts pretty much intentionall (Personally I like it, but it really makes everything even more dramatic), I'll keep watching it but at this point I don't know if I'll be satisfied with the ending.

Another excruciatingly painful 24 minutes. I hate these two so fucking much. I hate the pacing. I hate the direction. I hate the weird semi-incest. I hate everything about this show. I couldn't even get a peaceful break away from those two that suck my life and soul from my body whenever they're on the screen during that montage that had to play the most god awful dogshit ear-grating music I've ever listened to. There is not a single redeeming quality about this show. Utterly abysmal

It has been very difficult for me to follow the anime, the pace is too slow and the plot, even though 4 chapters have passed, is as if literally nothing has happened and there are no indications that anything will happen, or at least that is the impression.

CINEMA THE EPISODE. LO-FI beats started making me feel sleepy. LOL But it was amazing to say the least. Another amazing episode. Both, Maaya and Shiori are lovable characters. Also, Yuta helping Saki out in her studies is really nice. They're getting along nicely through studies, this time around. Is Saki a little bit jealous? Who knows? But, it's cute.

I know it might be just me but the pacing feels too slow to me and just in general the episodes feels very gloomy. I'm really loving this anime so far, it's vibe has been excellent. The complexity in their relationship is palpable, I'm really invested to how it evolves from here. Will it turn romantic? I really can't tell.

The art direction has been so fun so far, it's not quite as breath taking as last episode but every time a scene is framed through a doorway I pop off a little. Cute to see the return on the weird horse(?) sculpture, they always seem to frame it in a different way. I'm not sure what it means yet, but I have a feeling it's not the last we'll see of it.

The music is also obviously incredible, tho the lofi song got a lil repetitive at the end there imo. Mostly a nitpick though, I really enjoyed the whole sequence.

Everything is wonderful from the direction, music, still captures, backgrounds, etc....except for the character movement and animation. The last scene where Saki leave and walk away from the kitchen table has a horrible transitions. Just saying.
