Reinhardt actually appeared in the first arc of the manga around chapter 7.

Guess I didn't pay close attention or he is not that important for me to remember.

Well he doesn't reappear for awhile after this arc, so that's understandable.

Satela appears. Subaru is really in a bad situation again, it was intense.Hopefully,he finally understood his "power".
The opening and the ending are good, they fit well with the show.

Enjoyable episode.
Kinda hoped it would've ended with
but the way it ended here was fine as well.

Still can't wait for arc 3 to begin which should start around episode 9 or 10 I believe. Having read certain spoilers on animesuki, really can't wait for arc 3 to begin.

I can absolutely understand that anime only have this fear. I mean we've seen 2 episodes which felt like 3 of the same cycle but don't worry. The author actually knows how to handle this revival theme. Just watch the next episode and all your worries should be gone :)

I'm starting to think that ERASED is probably making people dumber.
Subaru isn't some time travel genius like Satoru where he has a fucking spinning calendar in his head depicting all the events regarding the circumstances behind Hinazuki's kidnapping and his mom's death. Nor does he have a photographic memory of the landscape of the fantasy world he literally just arrived in unlike Satoru in the town where he fucking grew up.
Subaru is taking action based on knowledge he gained from the iterations. It's just that he's not some smartass that just happens to know loads about the logic of time travel and the usage of history. He's a kid. Hell, even Marty needed Doc's help and had to look for an event that took place at an exact time and day just to get an idea of how he's supposed to get back to the future for an entire film.

Exactly. You took the words away from my mouth. And even more laughable is that satoru acted like a dumb sometimes.

Haha, yeah, people just need to get used to the fact that some chars are smart, and others not so much; just like real people. Subaru might be slow, but there's nothing wrong with that. Not to mention he was in a state of denial for pretty much the whole first episode. People like me who were probably native to another world in a past life would be completely at home in a fantasy-world environment, but apparently not this guy.

Also: when you have huge amounts of real stress on you, you aren't able to make as well thought out decisions and use as good of logic as you can sitting pondering better exploits from your computer desk. That's something all writers have to come to terms with when designing characters and scenarios that effectively suspend disbelief.

Solid episode. I thought Subaru's cry for help was well done ^^

Guess with the next episode we'll be done with arc 1. Hyped for all the action to come.

Nice episode. As interesting as the pilot episode. Nice to see characters developing properly.

But I have one doubt. No one should remember Subaru after the time resets, but the apple shop guy tells him that he helped Subaru as he had saved his daughter earlier. Didn't Subaru save the little girl in resetted past so the shop guy shouldn't be able to remember.

If there was one I would write RTFM, but as there is none I will write "Read the thread, it has been already answered".

And I don't know why people gets so confused about this statement. English is not my native language, but I had no problem understanding the meaning of the sentence.

I think you're now the 30th person that asks this :D
The shop guy was referring to "a broke kid" meaning Satella. Even without ever meeting Subaru she still helped the little girl and that's also what he meant with "Fate is really a compelling force". At the end of the episode you can even see the little flower on Satella which was the present from the little girl :)

OP had awesome visuals! I do like the ED song more than the OP, but it's great in its own right. Some of those flashing images in it would likely be spoilers, but I suppose it's not intended for audiences to know anyway. Never mind, they're just reusing the clips from the OP itself, haha. I'll admit, I jumped the gun there.

As for the episode itself, it's been a real treat. Again, the audio invokes a lot of tension and suspense in the right places. Glad to see that done well, along with the fight and encounter scenes.

So far so good!

Are you implying an otaku can't have the intelligence of a kid? I disagree.
It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; What is essential is invisible to the eye.

But does the heart have the right perspective?

I'm pretty sure that whether one believes in random out of nowhere time loops has nothing to do with IQ. That's like saying it's natural to believe in pigs flying because you watched talking muppets on the Muppet Show.

Time loops aren't a standard high-fantasy/D&D fantasy trope anyway and even they were inner workings for fantasy worlds are not all the same.

See Twelve Kingdoms vs Konosuba or El-Hazzard vs Grimgar etc.

Whenever I watch an anime that features time skips as a part of it's plot, I start getting war flashbacks to Endless Eight. Has it really been seven years since that monstrosity? Geez.

This one seems pretty promising though. I don't know if it will live up to Steins;Gate, but I'm expecting it to be enjoyable at the very least.

Damn. The tension. It's like we are just waiting for the moment he fucks up so bad that he gets himself killed like the second time he died. And he knows the same. Subaru sure doesn't has it easy. I mean he basically knows he is going to get killed if he doesn't leave the house before Elsa comes to them. At the same time he can't leave before he gets the Insignia because once Elsa has it he won't get it back. On top of that he basically has to die somehow if he fails his mission(so knowing how the situation gets out of hand is pretty much useless).

At least he didn't lose it entirely when he randomly ran into Elsa but that was way too close. I just hope he comes up with a better plan next time than what he is trying now. Even the girl is there now which won't help the Elsa-situation at all.

Interestingly enough even this episode, the narrative as it may retrace the steps above to Subaru's death, however, makes it different is the new path relived by him, good choice. In the end I was worried that Elsa could enter from the door, but I expected from a side that could be the plot twist. Quality quite good designs, the ending I like it very much. :D

So this is really Steins Gate/Erased all over again with Isekai settings, oh well.

I just hope Felt wouldn't be killed this time, and of course Subaru, even though he will always return after he is killed, it's quite tiring to see the same scenes over and over, for him and us viewers, if he is killed too much.

*Sigh* Really man? It's been only 2/25 of the entire show that adapts around 30-40% of the current source material. Maybe a bit early to write it off as "Show X" all over again.

Also these scenes were always different and there to introduce us and the characters to the time travel theme. As if it would repeat the same thing all over again throughout the entire story. Just have patience :).

Dammit, this could actually be a decent show if the protagonist wasn't ultra generic bland boy and if the dialogue wasn't needlessly drawn out and boring. You get scenes where Subaru is talking one-on-one with another character for a good few minutes when they should be 10-20 second scenes (or better yet skip the dialogue altogether and get across the same thing with visuals). Drawn out dialogue only works if it's witty and funny and/or it gives insight to character.

The show's concept is intriguing but the awkward pacing lets it down. And the visuals are gross save for a couple nice shots.

MC is a complete dumbass. Supposed otaku takes 4 deaths to realize something as simple as rewind/timetravel/whatever you want to call it. Didn't take him long to accept the fact that he was summoned to another world, yet took him dying multiple times to realize what was happening to him. This ep even confirms he retains memory from his previous 'life'. How retarded can this kid be?

Other than that, the other characters are great. Just saddens me you can't kill the retarded MC since he'll just be reborn and continue being a dumbass.

Subaru dies fast, but Reinhard has potential, a modest noble.
Some creepy sfx, especially with Elsa.

The voice acting here is just absolutely fantastic! They all deserve more roles after this. That OP & ED song was pretty good too. Whitefox is doing pretty well.

If done right this could make a big leap in the rankings by episode 18.
I expected Satella or whatever her name is to appear right there lol, thank God they didn't put that in as a cliff hanger.

Am I the only who feels like Felt should be part of the gang in the next few eps? xD
