| Depends on the haircut. There are some really ugly styles of haircuts a girl can get that are unflattering, but hair length does not determine ugliness, no. That's more about facial structure. Ugly anime characters are rare, and making a character ugly in animation when you don't have to is deliberate choice. |

That is such a superficial thing to find ugly. That is like peak body shaming if you're to the level where you can't accept people having shorter hair even if they are a fictional character. You may have your personal preferences but like.... why the hell does hair length matter? A lot of people like styling their hair in different ways, so the same should apply to fictional characters allowing diverse haircuts and styles regardless of gender. Women with short hair exist in real life so they should also exist in anime
