| This manga has a lot of potential because it has sorcery and is set in the Taisho period. The story is a somewhat generic revenge story, but if this is well-planned a revenge story can turn into a delightful read. The main character is a swordsmith, who learned to craft from his father, he is trying to avenge the death of his father. The art of the manga is incredibly detailed when compared with other shonen mangas. You could say that the art style is similar to the style of Akanebanashi, Akanebanashi has a similar amount of detail, for example, the buildings and surroundings (plants and the ground) have the same texture and detail. But the action choreography in this is unique, the stylistic choices made by the mangaka can turn this into an instant favorite. It's evident that the author doesn't dwell that long in the action, he gets it done in 2 or 3 pages. I hope he builds the story a lot more in the second chapter.  Hopefully, the manga doesn't get axed like Ayashimon and Red Hood. |

| So far it’s okay. Definitely not impressed. Usual Yazuka revenge story with katanas and big bad yazuka guys. Even the art seems to be not that creative with designs and such. It doesn’t really differentiate itself from other kind-of-serious shonen Sorcery is an interesting mix, still it didn’t feel very captivating. Storytelling and narrative were pretty boring. Again, another hyped series for no reason at all just because someone on twitter lied and told everyone this had one the best first chapters ever. MamaYuyu had a stronger first chapter. |
