What the fuck is even going on xD

Firstly I'm really disappointed they didn't find the body of that guy. Secondly I was hoping we'd finally hear anything from the bus driver. Sadly that ended on a cliffhanger... But what actually was weird was the final sentence when they ran out of the tunnel. Seriously what the fuck? It also seems that one guy who tripped is missing now, too. And why did Jack break out AND follow the group? I mean even if he wanted to leave, too, it would have been much safer especially for him to stay in the village. They might as well end up killing him out there.

All in all I still like it but, as everybody is talking about it anyway, the biggest problem Lost had was that there never was much revealed. At least not for the first like 3 seasons or so. I love mystery anime but I hate it if they just leave it entirely open. If Mayoiga is going a similar way as Lost then this will be quite a shitty end.

I kept wondering why neither of them thought of spending the night in the bus, especially since they knew the monster was around.

To be honest, the last few episode were a bit dragging but Episode 4 reveals the potential of this series. As it stands, so many questions now arise and I think things are about to get more unexpected in the coming episodes.
What good would it bring if a man gains the whole world but loses the one he loves?

Best episode so far (excepting that amazing scene in ep1) imho!! I sincerely hope Judgeness is dead tbh, he was fun to have around for a bit but I feel like a character like him might outstay his welcome really fast, unless they toned him way down. I love all the developments happening (especially the giant Mitsumune lololol) and I can't wait to see what Jack does next!

The difference is
Lovepoo has tits and ass so she's pardoned for a lot worse along the lines of double standards than Jack
the likely possibility is that Mitsumune's pussy ass probably just didn't tell anyone, no one else witnessed is besides Maimai, and she probably kept mum as well
Although I ship her and Jack

Poor Hyouketsu no Judgness, I had a funny feeling that he wouldn't last long in this show.
Oh that cliffhanger. The driver saw his daughter? ;o

Its the cause that make him return to the group

Oh good! This was the episode we were looking for! Things became interesting quickly!
More suspense, development, and that thing... Call me crazy but that thing sounds like a flipping dinosaur out of Jurassic Park jaja. This episode made me want to watch more and I think it saved the series for more than a couple.
A couple of things I want to make note:

  • Mitsumune, you are trying too hard with Masaki. Do not push her away man, take it easy.

  • I'm not the only one suspecting of Koharun, as Mikage said to Valkana. In any case, since when Koharun became closer to Valkana? Dahara is jealous jaja I guess the moment they had in the last episode worked out, somehow. Valkana has anger issues but he's the one acting based on logic, at least more than the rest, and he sure shouldn't fall victim of Koharun's charms. She looks like hiding something.

  • We finally can confirm Hayato is not imaginary, I repeat, Hayato is not imaginary, he is real jaja. If it were not by this episode in which we see him talking with the others I would still think he was not real.

The episode was more spooky than previous episodes. Are they dead? Is someone or something killing people? What's up with Jack? Why did MaiMai say they saw a giant Mitsumune? WTF did they see in that tunnel? We have ghosts in the town! Seriously, the ending gave me a vibe that things could go really bizarre in any moment.

This show is begining to be like Lost & R-Point. And this giant mitsumune better be a giant mitsumune & not some kind of sexual innuendo.

Funny how some of the characters are now using their brain apart from some of the other character such as the fat man talking about food again & again.

Honestly, have none of you were listening what the girls were talking about the way down the hill? That Explains the giant Mitsumune.
That klown dude is prety affraid of Jack, which explains why he seen him.

As someone said earlyer, it seems in some kind of way people getting their greatest desires/fears projected.
Like how the bus driver changed his mind at the begining, now we know he've been seeing things.

Although what happened to Yottsun is still a mistery, and what did the chick see.

Decent episode. Pretty interesting stuff is happening, is there even a monster or are they all hallucinating for some unknown reason - giant Mitsumune and driver's daugther. Not so much of Lovepon and executions =/

Yeah, that "3" (<- even this, up to the juicy details) :))
Also, the 8 flipped would mean "infinity". And now they are lost in the mountain and lost the way back to the village, it's basically a creepy trolling.

The first thing that occurred to me when I saw the 8 was that they had already done this before, as in, they are trapped in an endless loop of sorts. I thought so because the numeral seemed a bit faded, not as if it had been made recently but a long time ago.

zellami said:
Ah, no, there was a body floating, but Lovepon says here "corpse" (or "a dead body"), not "Yottsun".

We, the audience, did see Yottsun floating down the river. Of course, given the nature of the anime and the likelihood of hallucinations, it might turned out not to have been his body. It could be someone we have yet to meet, something else entirely, or even nothing at all.

zellami said:
The thing is if the group hallucinates, it isn't exactly known when this started. First hints could date back when they reached the village and we decided the characters were merely dumb. (They are, but for other reasons). Then, if there was an objective cause, depending on the type, hallucinating could hit different people with different time lag and with a different set of side effects. And lastly, they could be simply and rightfully scared and in panic, which is enough to lose grasp on reality further.

It might even be that they, or some of them, are hallucinating the whole thing entirely. At any rate, I suspect that Mistumune's flashback/dream in the first episode, where he first falls off a rooftop and then is seen in a hospital bed, will be pivotal further down the road and is very likely to be connected to the hallucination theory. For all we know, Mistumune is hallucinating everything and is in a coma or something to that extent.

zellami said:
When Mitsumune talked to Lion on the bus, he looked "genuinely" sold on the karasu-mentality. Suddenly, he cares for a person he barely knows, Yottsun, to the point of being separated with the friend that "bailed" him out many times in his life. True, he is after Masaki and ready to replace Hayato with her, yet Hayato is supposed to be someone he would care about way more than Yottsun's dead body. Valkana's motivation for staying behind is clearly different in comparison.

Mitsumune's reasoning for staying is laughable but I fully expected him to stay.

Oh no, Mikage is one of the very few enjoyable characters in this anime. It’d be shame if he died :/

At least going from the preview Mikage won't die right away in the next episode. But really, without him around either Nanko takes some amount of control, or perhaps Koharun or Hayato, they'd all run around like headless chickens and get themselves killed without any monster having to intervene.

I noticed this episode that there was a school sign on the abandoned bus stop which shows that odds are the village was a normal at some point, or made to look like one, at any rate.

I absolutely despise Mitsumune. Weakest link in the show.

Anyways, this episode is great. Pace is picking up very nicely. I feel like the whole "split" group thing is great. We are definitely dealing with a monster here. It might even be shape-shifter (which would suck btw). I'm so excited for this anime. (One of the few apparently.)

2 down? Yottsun and Pirate Jack are presumed dead. Who's next?

Now for my complaints:

Anyone else felt seriously ticked off when they dropped the flashlight inside the tunnel? Freaking ridiculous. That's going to come in handy later down the plot I bet.

And these guys did not even decide to put pieces of wood under the bus's wheels. That is like the standard thing to do if your wheels get stuck like that. Place something solid underneath it in order for it to actually propel itself.

Judgeness is hopefully dead. That fucker needed to go big time.

Jack escaped.

I haven't the slightest clue how the fuck to interpret "its a giant Mitsumune". What the hell did she see in that cave? Was it really that terrifying?

Valkana is still being an asshole, and is now one step away from woman-beater.

Mitsumune is still a thirsty little pussy. Honestly if Yottsun and the blonde guy weren't characters, I'd give Mitsumune a 90% chance of raping a girl.

Don't expect the slut in the purple dress to be around much longer. She's clearly hiding her inner skank. It's clear she's a whore, and has dropped some subtle lines already, but that slut monster is ready to surface. Plus, between her being a skank and being kind of airheaded/indifferent, she will never contribute anything to the show.

Holy shit. That actually changed the whole perspective x'D that scared the living crap out of me pahaha. If that's what MaiMai saw then I would've fkd outta there asap as well...Good thing I continued reading this forum in the morning lolol The giant Mitsumune she saw was definitely THIS thing. Holy crap my heart.

Anywho, what I think is that Mitsumune is actually a sociopath. There are hints that he is actually mentally unstable like his hallucinations of a ticking time bomb in the bus, his suicide/attempted suicide, and his blatantly obvious actions to screw Masaki (bruh that ain't normal). It's also been mentioned many times that Mitsumune is someone that needs 'watching out for' out of everyone.

Masaki also mentions that it's better to stay in the village than to go explore in the woods. One theory I have, is that the fog in the forest must contain the chemicals released by a nearby factory causing more hallucinations etc., so going into the forest would mean, inhaling more of these chemicals and well... See a lot of hardcore shii. Plus if you look at it, no one in the village (apart from Bus driver) has hallucinated. Whereas everyone that left I think is already seeing hallucinations like the number 8 and what was in the tunnel. The fact that she knows this though, is still unknown to me. It's obvious that she knows something. On the first episode she also said 'something bad is going to happen' if she doesn't hold her breath until her food comes out and she was disturbed by Mitsumune soo...

Also the noise. I think it's meant to be un-identifiable to the audience, hence the weird mixture of dinosaur/siren/bear-like screams. If you listen to the noise, it isn't just one distinct sound, it's like a mixture of sound. This is probably to help the audience feel more involved with the story (hearing the same thing as the characters)...

Map topo partially correct, compass matches, gps unusable.
New rail & tunnel discovered, at least it's a good landmark that should lead to civilized world, unless "giant Mitsumune" blocks the path, or whole village is in some infinite boundary loop (like a recent mystery anime).
Nice talk with Speedstar. Maimai so tsun.
Mitsumune's almost unfathomable. Lies about his name & cares about Yottsun more than friend? I'm guessing he's just horny & doing anything to stay with Masaki.
Sleeping Lion cute. Squats in front of the pot & fish like a Lion. Needs more screentime.
Mikage & Valhana suspect Dahara or Koharun.
Lovepon still funny expressions "it's coming closer and closer!"
Jack wasn't illusion, or at least both folks saw him.
2nd dead by cliff, rip Chunni Pirate.
Driver dead daughter illusion.

Yes, that makes sense, and not only for him but the others. Each one of the has something wrong with them, some more than others as it appears so far.

I hold the theory of the purgatory but the hallucinogen theory is also valid. But why is the Driver the only one having this visions while in the village? Let's say it is only if you go to the forest, we may expect Valkana and Koharun to have visions too since they chased Driver-san to the forest. That brings to mind, why didn't everybody have visions to start with? They were all in the forest in the same time when they arrived but only Driver-san saw "her" through the window.

So Jack attacks that Judgeness wanker and gets put in the cell for a day, fair enough.

The one who wants to execute everyone pushes Mitsumune into the river and starts strangling and drowning him at the same time and she gets off Scott free, that's just fucking nonsense.

Aside from that I've firmly decided from what I've seen so far is that everyone on this damn tour is a dick and I can't wait to watch most of them die

So they just left Jack's ass in there? No wonder he got out and looked all sinister, I would be mad too. Wonder if he's one to be reasoned with, or if they will eventually end up sacrificing him for the peace of the group. He could also end up reacting violently to them as well. RIP Judgeness-kun, though I STILL can't say i'm sobbing and crying knowing he's probably dead. We still didn't see a dead body so it's possible he lived, that is unless he fell down a cliff. Are hallucinogenics involved? Maybe it's in the plants around them lol.

Mitsu keeps oversharing and trying to be sweet to Masaki, but she keeps running away and crying. Maybe she knows something lmao. I don't really like him as a main character so far, but at least the focus isn't always on him so it's bearable. Glasses guy and Valka are now both opposing leaders, so I'm sure that will play out well lmfao. Hayato keeps re-enforcing the narrative that Mitsu isn't all that he seems (which has kind of gotten annoying by now. We get it, he's not what he seems.) and Maimai keeps defending him in a roundabout way.

This was one of the more entertaining episodes.

Welp... IMO, the bus driver stayed for LONGER in the forest since after thy left, he sort of still contemplated on life sat there in the bus, THEN he heard the knock which was presumably his dead daughter (hallucination)... And the first time we saw him, he was all kind of dirty meaning he probs wandered around the dirt( forest)... Whereas everyone kind of went straight to the village and explored only the village. I bet Yotsun and Masaki sort of went out of the village barrier (cuz they were definitely in the forest by this time) which again, causes Yotsun and possibly Masaki to have seen things.

Lol I dunno I'm just guessing. This is what I think anyway x'D
People are saying this anime is dumb and the story is weird but I think it has quite a genius aspect to it. The writers are making the characters THAT cliché and often stupid on purpose. The ironic comedy hints in it also add a touch of 'taking a piss' of the situation at times lol
Also does no one (the people hating), realise how awesome the build up of the creepiness is?! Like damn I get creeped out by the end of each ep starting ep 3. That giant Mitsumune was hilarious tho lol but after seeing someone's comment of what giant Mitsumune actually looked like, holy sht I crapped my pants a little x'D

This episode was actually better than the last ep due to a diminished amount of shouting and screaming. I can also remark that at least the characters are consistent - of course a pack of weaklings that are afraid of everything will pull up stakes and leave after a couple of days.

I like the theories with them being dead or hallucinating, rather than alive and killing each other for the sake of surviving *coughs* Corpse Party *coughs*; for a second that ghost/dead kid reminded me of this shit, but I hope it's not the case here.

Tsk tsk,why didn't you listen to your boyfriend,Mitsumushit? I would've had a small hope you could die there.

I'm certain that Lion knows a lot more than the others about what is going on. Although she is very guarded and doesn't say much, in Episode 4 she somehow knew that the group which tried to leave the village wouldn't die.

Ok I had it at episode 4. Too slow, not even a bit scary, didn't manage to pique my interest, plus mc is **** the whole time. They should make it two cour with this pace. I'd like to focus on much better shows this season. And dropped..!!!! \| ̄ヘ ̄|/

I definitely agree that the monster/force or whatever it is changes based on who views it. All of them heard different sounds, the bus driver saw his daughter, Judgness saw Jack etc. I'm interested to see what its intentions are though.

But Speedstar also saw Jack..
There's two kinds of people you can't win an argument against:
One - Too dumb to tell right from wrong.
Two - Too stubborn to admit they are wrong.

People started seeing crazy shit. Dead daughter. Giant Mitsumune (lol). Was Jack an illusion tho? He did escape. Anyway, I guess they already realized this, but splitting up was probably not a good idea.

Well now i have a grasp of what's actually going on now. There's something that's actually causing them to hallucinate their fears and traumas.

this pretty much sums it up

LOL Yeah like i don't even get why the hell that's scary.... I was expecting some death or zombies or a horrible monster to be there, not some crazy fukken specific things that'd only be shocking to the individual.......... It's hard to relate to.

Then again this is a crazy anime about crazy people taking a crazy bus to a crazy village to do crazy things.

i have a feeling the number "8" on the tree isn't the one they had painted. it's left there purposely to mess with their heads.

How did Jack escape? Will this be explained? Or will it remain as a plothole?

It seems that the character who befriends everyone in this type of stories always survives till the end/is the mastermind.

I started watching this show with some expectations.
A) The average character is not some dumb piece of shit.
B) We don't get to see too many stupid people or Pseudo intelligence.
C) The story will revolve around characters who have found a new live in the woods with some wild animals or alike roaming around that they have to defend against.
D) They will have to gather food and manage to stay alive in this newfound village.
E) They have to integrate themselves in the new utopian society.

I got dissapointed.
A) Every person there is stupid.
B) Every character there makes me cringe.
The least annoying so far is Jack due to the fact that he has yet to open his mouth. Or maybe Yottsun because he's dead already.
I can't decide on the most annoying character though. Maybe the office Lady. Maybe the cat. One of our top contestants here is our main character.
C) The story will revolve around a lot of people dying in a stupid but mysteries way.
D) Most of the people there are unable to use the tools there as weapons. Don't get me started about gathering food or even building their own stuff.

But I get the point in Mayoiga. You first start watching with expectations about characters and alike. You get dissapointed but you keep thinking "maybe it will get better". After some time you've grown to hate each and every character so much that you just keep watching to see them all die.
