Probably the best part is the end with Kirito. He isn't the protagonist for nothing!

There's been only boring episodes for a while now. This was better.

I don't care if they will beat the boss or wont, or whatever happens. As long as Kirito acts like an unbeatable God once again.

I have spoken. Ugh.

hmm not sure if i like the path this show is taking. they keep bringing in new characters, new plotlines filled with questions that never get answered, switching main protagonists and forgetting about old ones.
and on another note, i dont understand why sao takes itself so serious most of the time yet casts aside any trace of logic i mean come on...it doesnt hurt to abide by your own rules.

??????

It's a new arc, the only new characters are from Sleeping Knights and they still have 3 episodes to tell their stories, pls.

Also, SAO has always been serious, using psychology and just kind of normal living experiences.

If they do it right, the death gun question should be answered by the end of this season. Or they could fuck it up and get the finger.

Alicization is the latest arc in the novel.
If there's a third season it'll be the start of that arc.

Ah we know that - but the season still has 4 episodes to go; even without rushing 3 episodes are enough for the rest of MR (unless they really want to show each and every thing and take it slow :P).

So many people are expecting the last episode to jump over the first prologue of Vol. 9 and go straight to the second one - ending the episode with a certain cliffhanger ;-)

Then the next season we start with the first Prologue, in turn maximizing the confusion.

I know what partially happens because I was told on accident. I just don't know when it happens but I think Caleb post kinda gave me an idea.

Either way I am nollfing those books when MR ends lol. I started to read MR and stopped at where the anime ended. Everyday I am troubled if I should continue lol.

"We want to take down floor boss with only these members"
"No matter how good you are, I don't know if it's possible with only seven people"

Hey Asuna, remember that one time, you and Kirito were taking a casual walk on one of higher floors of SAO, explored cave, entered room and TWO MANNED A FLOOR BOSS!

So yeah, I think a party of seven well trained and equiped people could do it as well. Just saying.

Also, Kirito is, yet again, complete and total badass :)

Already answered before.

Kirito would NOT be able to solo new Aincrad's bosses.

SAO Aincrad was finetuned for deathgame experience and kayaba wanted to give people a chance at winning so it was smaller parties.

Most of ALO Aincrad's bosses are finetuned for ~40+ people and parties are not expected to succeed at first try.

Good enough.
Take, however, into consideration that SAO was a death game. You die, you're gone. There was no second chance.
ALO is not. Thus her initial reaction made no sense. There was no need to worry or doubt.
Asuna did, however, understand that almost immediately afterwards. So yeah, a smaller party can do it if properly prepared and trained.

Learn the pattern, know what, how and when and do it.
So yeah, she overreacted at first but proceeded nonetheless after realizing it can be done.

SAO may have had easier bosses, but it most certainly wasn't tuned for 2 man party. Especially when considered they knew nothing of boss or his attacks.

THere's a third death gun. Remember. Well you'll see him at the end of season 2, assuming the Interlude (it's A-1 Pictures they are for: 1) fanservice that never existed 2) animation, when its canon to the boo-ish 3)cliffhangers) If they don't do that ending, I would be shocked. A-1 loves their cliffhangers, anytime they can get one.

Dual Sword is a unique skill that gave significant stat bonuses and OP abilities. It's more than just Kirito fighting a boss, it was Kirito with a Unique Skill fighting the boss. Unique skills don't exist in ALO.

I don't think Asuna thought it could be done per say. She was calculating the risks of victory and safety because she was used to Anicrad days. Then she realized that this isn't Anicrad and games were more than just winning. To me it sounded like hey lets give it a shot and have some fun even though I have my doubts. Asuna knew at that moment that ALO was a game and it's meant to have fun and she knew Sleeping Knights was all about that(Even though their goal was to obtain victory of the floor boss). That's my opinion at least.

^THIS

SAO sword skills are basically auto-pilot.
ALO "sword skills" are more like manually executed combos, hence why Kirito can't repeat his SAO attack here.

Oh, I fully agree.
I did say something like that in my 2nd post.

At first she was "No way.", then she took her flashback time (short one), remembered this is just a game meant to have fun and try crazy things and said "why the hell not.".

So yeah, her initial reaction was the only thing I didn't agree with.

Yea just saw that in your post :P. I guess you could agree to disagree on her reaction. Couldn't that be seen as her still having trauma over SAO ? I know myself and probably others have doubted something even though we were fully aware those doubts wouldn't come true.

Kirito fought Gleam Eyes, which had only one third hp left at that time, if I remember well.

The game was created to fight bosses with big parties (6 parties with seven players in each one is the usual strategy) for safety, it is clearly mentioned in Aria. Few parties fight, while others heal up etc.
Bosses in ALO are not stronger. Well maybe they a little bit, because players do not have those high hit-rate combo skills, which give a slight advantage, because of greater damage. However, In SAO they cannot be stopped once started, so player is vulnerable while casting it, it gives long stun as well. Because of that, there must be a lot of parties for swapping, covering etc. In ALO you don't need that because, well, if you die - "that sucks", but nothing particular more.

She doesn't seem so aware of the differences though, since for her it's pretty much the same thing as the nerve gear. Either that, or she's reaaally smart, or at least smart enough to think about Asuna's reaction trauma-wise when she says that "you should not even want to see this thing"...

If she understood that VR, and this include the fact that this is pretty much something with REAL people and all, then, given the importance she seems to give to ETIQUETTE, she SHOULD understand that politeness is important here too, just like in real life. ...
She means well, but it's very clear that there are a LOT of things she doesn't understand, ESPECIALLY when it comes to hi-tech.

Good points, but a couple of other points:
1) Asuna not showing up to dinner at the proper time would be like a kid not going home by their curfew, so not surprising that the Mother would be annoyed, VR or R.
2) Also, notice that they always eat alone. This is because the father is out trying to save the remnants of his company (the one who created ALO and the current VR gear as well as other things), so it isn't as if she has good thoughts about VR. This was why she was so keen on a family owned conservative business, the large company her husband owned nearly went bankrupt trying the "new" VR stuff.
3) This ties into how VR interacted with Asuna's life. The Mother did not approve of Asuna's previous fiance, but because the father was so keen on the marriage, she had deferred to his decision, trusting that he knew what he was doing. Well that trust proved completely unfounded and her instincts completely correct, and now she has the guilt of having kept silent from the start. Considering that VR nearly took Asuna's life (in SAO) and soul (the fiance), one can see why she doesn't want to remain silent and let Asuna do what she wants.

On top of that, Asuna's personality did change, and to date there is no reason why the Mother should think this is a good thing. Asuna was assertive, intelligent, outgoing, determined to do well with her life and career before SAO, but now she seems to be willing to settle, and is withdrawing into VR to avoid dealing with reality. It also hasn't been that Asuna has managed to help her mother understand this change, so it is easy to see why the mother is extremely worried about her.

Of course we sympathize with Asuna and find the mother overbearing, but it isn't like her mother doesn't have reasons for doing what she is doing. That is called parenting, sometimes it fails, but in the vast majority of cases, it is for the good. This is merely one of the exceptions.

Asuna wasn't that centeder girl you described
She was more silent to what her mother ordered her

Asuna using her brains was cool. Then Yuuki to finish the job. These two are gonna be a true duo.

I think getting the other 5 (since the 6th would be Kirito's party) leaders to agree and give up their leadership would be........... hard.
