More like conduct that would be considered sexual (touching, etc) in our society would be considered normal in their society (since those that created the society realised that these acts reduced aggression).

So heavy petting and incest? Me gusta

More like skinship than heavy petting, in my mind

One issue I have is that the library didn't just stun them since nobody was wearing glasses, just a small qualm.

It's understandable that upon granting access to the library the animal no longer is programmed to be aggressive.

They did not have access at that point.

The part that cover the theory about the rats being human that goes through genetic modification is because they're not the only one that changes.
Over the course of 1000 years, a lot of animals evolved to their present form, such as the (real) Minoshiro, crabs, or the blimp dogs. The name they gave, Bakenezumi, seems to show that the society saw them as evolution of rats.

The door is already opened, so they're past that "I don't want anything to do with you" stage :D
Now she's just politely telling them there's no service for underage kids.

Yes, however, this world is more harsh and realistic (at point a man's psychology), although I can't understand why nuclear weapon couldn't destroy humanity whereas mere espers did it.

Whereas nuclear weapon kills indiscriminately, in this world MERE espers can kill by targeting only human on a massive scale. This is why they are even more dangerous and deadly to human race as a whole than nuclear weapon, which destroy the environment and can harm both the attackers as well as the defenders.
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

But isn't a man like that himself? It's not like there were no wars before, right? Humans constantly killed each other throghout the history and humanity didn't vanish. It appears that telekinesis' just more convenient, than nuclear weapon as it doesn't harm to the nature.

And espers are no immortal and can be killed with usual weapon.

Well, it is conceivable that the espers in this world can even stop or destroy the usual weapons.

If they can see them. How an esper's going to destroy sniper's bullet or deadly poison or chemical weapon? As far as I remember, telekinesis doesn't include clairvoyance.

Well, I find myself hard to believe all the superhero having so much power that each one of them can destroy the whole Earth by himself, so you are not alone here. At the end to enjoy the story it requires the reader/watcher to accept the worldview.

It's not really telekinesis per se but there were hints that in the past, there were PK powerful enough to alter reality itself.

Like a single PK erasing an entire city out of existence by mere thought.

I can't wait for more, this is getting really, really interesting!

I was recently asked something about this anime but since i dropped it, i guess i'll try to get an answer for it here. So if Saki and her mother are intimate and this is considered normal in their world, would that mean that it would be normal for any other family member to be like that with Saki???

I'll put it simply
1. Psychic discovered
2. Psychics do bad things
3. Normal vs Psychics war
4. Population below 2% of what use to
5. Split into 4 groups(Slave empire, bandit, resistance, scientist)
6. Resistance destroy Slave empire
7. Scientist build new society
8. Scientist genetically modified and educate new kids
8(a) Death Feedback
8(b) Sex to relieve stress society
9. Scientist society "filter out" children who may turn bad. (episode 2, the guy who cheat)
9? I think children who can't use their powers well also get "filtered"

That's pretty much the info that we were given.

Some correction:

5. Split into 4 groups (Slave empires, hunter-gatherers (no power), bandits (with power), scientists )
6. Bandits gone, then Slave Empires also gone
9. <It never says the current society is a "scientist society">

Forgive me if this has been answered already. I only skimmed through this thread.

Why in the hell did they show memories of Saki's mother and young friend during Library's dude explanation of the importance of sex in their society? If they're implying what I think they're implying, that's horrible. Otherwise, terrible timing to have memories of your mother during such an explanation.

An intense and incredible episode, by the way.

The culture and society is permissive regarding casual sex and underaged sex (to a certain extent) and parents educating kids about this is expected. So when the library mentioned about sex in society, Saki immediately recalled the past sex-related episodes earlier in her life.

So both of those monster types are "syndromes"? That means they are people...

Oh, so that's what PK means... psychokinesis...

570 years 94 emperors... That's about one every 6 years...

Some pretty horrific history there. The overreactions were probably because of their secluded lives up to that point.

And what are those memories that Saki keeps having?

That woman... with a baby in her arms... Who was she? Really just an illusion created by the librarymonster?
And those rats created a figure when they died too...

And the balloon dog appeared from within the rats.

They build the world in this series so nicely that you can almost believe it is real. Pretty deep episode indeed, but I am still a bit confused. It seems that Saki is realizing who are the real bad guys, eh? By the way, that monk/father/whoever is very annoying, I hate this 'authoritative' sort of character.
