The twist at the end was just shock value for the sake of it. It wasn't really anything special. So far this anime is pretty average

It was sad
Her dad actually being dead and not being able to say sorry over the pudding

Did the father just tell the spirit that the pudding was for him?

Frankly, I was shocked when I saw her father, a ghost like them in episode 3, he said goodbye to her at first, so I did not doubt him for a moment. actually I applaud Miko because she could bear not interacting with her father. It's really hard to hear a word from someone you miss and can't answer.yep Same here I feel sad too
yea it’s sad I thought he was alive the whole time too

The ending with her father really got me good. As someone who loved and lost their father, just a day before my birthday, scenes like that one really get to me. Just like the scene with the yazkua and his deceased wife and two furbabies. There are scary moments, lots of ecchi moments but lots of touching/moving moments that really get you in the kokoro.

The resurgence of the fanservice, makes us turn up our noses, but the narration is good at not showing us a film we have already seen, inserting completely new events and situations, especially the ending is the icing on the cake, because it is so unexpected what you he sees, that one is blown away and so amazed by what is being narrated. In addition, the ending gives ideas on possible outlets regarding the story. The narrative also wants to send a message: not all grotesque creatures seen by the protagonist, like men, are all the same.

EDIT: Ah! I hope not to contravene the disclaimer, since previously it was forbidden only not to disseminate information that went beyond the episode in question. I apologize in advance if I am wrong.

Wow this episode focused mostly on family, which is unusual for animes that aren't all incest-y.

My biggest regret: Reading all 200+ chapters of Kanojo, Okarishimasu

As soon as I was hoping the fanservice would be fading out as it was largely absent last episode it sure came back in this ep. Random monsters are really going to get old as well. Tried to get a bit of emotion with that bit at the end but if some connective tissue doesn't come around then her being in various situations trying to ignore the monsters is not going to be very interesting for much longer.

Now, so Miko's father was actually... One of the monsters/ghosts.

I didn't expect that. Not like this. It must have been hard for Miko to feel his presence without saying anything for so long.

It was the best episode of this anime so far! I found Kyousuke to be a much nicer and funnier character than Hana, I hope he appears more often.
I didn't expect Miko's father to be dead, the scene was very sad.

What the... the father having already passed away caught me offguard which is quite bittersweet. Well at least a ghost that doesn't frighten Miko but makes her happy.

Damn they actually did something interesting for once, I was worried from episode one that this might be repetitive, and so far it has, but this part with her dad was actually surprising and interesting. It gives me hope for future episodes.

I greatly appreciate the Miko fanservice. But this episode kind of added a bunch of plot holes.

It's already been established that Miko doesn't just see monster ghosts. In the episode with the cat she could see the good ghosts of the Yakuza guys dead cats. So given that, how come she could never see her fathers ghost?

She obviously loves and misses her father. It's not like she would ignore him if she knew he was there.

Second thing is, daddy ghost also knew about the other monster ghost in the house but didn't do anything to it. We also know ghosts can touch and interact with one another, its been shown a few times. So why would the ghost dad be content with allowing a monster ghost in his house? He clearly acknowledged it when it said pudding and he responded that it was for him.

She does see him and is choosing to not acknowledge him.

The dad being dead is a twist I actually didn't see coming.

And we know the ghosts sorta have a mind as they have limited thinking and can talk. But the spirit dad actually responded to the pudding ghost. So maybe Miko can actually talk to them of she acknowledges them.

Okay now it makes sense to me because when they first showed the shrine (in the first episode I believe), I thought the picture looked just like the dad, but the dad was "alive", so I was so confused about who it was. Now I have to go back and watch the scenes with the whole family in it to see their whole dynamic without him actually there. First scene that comes to mind was in the first episode when the brother leaves for school but doesn't say bye to the dad and the dad is confused/sad about it. Also, does this mean that Miko can see her dad? If so, that's so sad and I feel bad for her because not only does she have to see monsters every day, but she's also constantly reminded that her dad is dead.

I have to say, totally didnt expect that ending, pretty emotional in a way. Decided to see the previous episodes and there's already been hint about her dad situation. Miko's phone conversation only features her mom, brother, and Hana. Her mom notes with the lack mention of her dad, only buying three donuts, Miko lack of response to her dad whenever he made an apperance, her brother overprotectiveness, and the lack of plates/mug on her dad spot in the dining room. At the first we thought that it just Miko being stoic and her brother has some siscon thing going on for comedic purposes, but it's actually more than that. Pretty good foreshadowing.

Also, great fanservice episode, as expected of this studio.

I liked how Miko's parents just were present, being parents without any quirks or outrageous personalities, and it turns out one of them is dead... It made me a sad Dango...

I hope she'll learn some kind of exorcism or something because at this rate she'll go insane.
