love the anime 9/10 i know i guve it too many point cuz if i really take into account the HORRIBLE animation in some episodes it shoukc be a 8/10 but for me it more only for the originality on the characters motives... yeah, the reason they do the things for the main cast (not the humans ) is gold.
For our beautiful spider her journey is NOT CUZ SHE WANTS TO BE A HERO, no no no, first was main survival, later cuz she was bored, later cuz she got pride and that make her see everything as a way to upgrade her skills, then she fight demon lord and is on SURVIVAL mode again... and the last part is the epitome of "i didnt ask for this" ... she joining the heros hahzhzhzha was another mistake for her... sooooo goood
Love the main cast and the plot, is so good in the LN is even better... go read it, so good 10/10
Anime=8/10
Light novel =10/10
Overall = 9/10
Im gonna miss my spider fridays so much, best anime of that season hands down (plot wise) , sometimes people need to evercome their obsession with extremellh well animated animes just to enjoy good rides
Ah, yes, one week delay to see a wacky 2d Ariel, for once and for all. That's good, very-very good. Finally the story with such a different timeline comes in one picture. Even though the conclusion for Shun and his party still unresolved. That's the only issue i get from this final. Seriously, why cut there completely? ffs, smh. However, overall, its still got a good stopping point, unexpectedly, Wakaba got a chance to meet with Shun and her sensei. So, if there's a chance for a next season, that point obviously good to start another continuations.
Honest score, it will be very bad with all of those horrible kind of animations, and art. Even Kumoko's part unexpectedly become more obnoxious on this one. Is it because the movement got more complex with the additional of human body? I dunno. Still, the story wise actually almost perfect. The oped unexpectedly so good on my hearing. Then Aoi Yuuki is so perfect to carrying the show, alone.
Overall score:
Demonical girl Ariel/ Pottimas cyborg elf with a lot of clones/ wacky not-so-little divine spider.
That's it all for me, and moving on....
Hide and seek is the best offline games on this fatamorgana-called-world-thing. Please comment nicely. I am newbie here.
I’m glad they took extra time to finish this episode, while the animation and cgi was still not so great at parts, it was better than the previous few episodes. As for the story itself tho, wow, so much happened, Kumoko became a babe, Potimas has robot doubles, and we finally got to see how Kumoko joined forces with Ariel, really awesome stuff, I really enjoyed it even with the subpar animation.
Overall, I really enjoyed this anime, a lot more than I thought I would going in. Unlike most people, I enjoyed the human parts of the story a lot, sure they weren’t as good as the Kumo stuff but it got progressively better as it went on and it ended up being very important to the story, so I really appreciate it being included. Both OPs and EDs were really good, me and my friend jam to them when we’re gaming together often now lol.
I’m gonna miss the laugh riot that is Kumoko, as well as some of my other favorite characters, truly didn’t expect this to be as great as it ended up being, even with the choppy animation and cgi near the end. I’m 100% down for a season 2!

This is HORRIBLE. Does that mean there will be no more spider going forward? Its all a bunch a people???????? WHY does she have to take a human form?? Also, that was anti climactic end.
OrdinaryCereal said: can someone explain uhh sooo kumoko's other consciousness (the one with the headband) became arie's new consciousness?? or what??, it's okay idc about spoilers i need answer
"Body" Mind merged with her.
but she lost her memories of being one with kumoko?
Her personality warped and she gained knowledge of Earth's pop culture and can speak a bit of English (as much as your average Japanese high schooler) but she doesn't have all of Kumoko's memories from this world or the previous
soo kumoko lost control of her body version? and in ariel's body coexists 2 minds?
sorry if im asking too much im just soo curious and idk where to read LN
yes. Ariels drastic change of personality is the proof of it and Ariel clearly said that she doesnt want to fight kumoko anymore cause Ariels mergerd with kumokos personality which was in charge of the body.
And idk i was reallly hoping that kumo evolved into ariel when i frist saw ariel's debut but i mean it's not like i don't like kumo's human form but just ariel's my fav chara lmao
I understand how you feel. I personally like kumokos character more though...
that explains why she was working with the demon lord as the white woman. doesn't explain at all why she looked like a zombie (eyes closed, no speaking) for almost the whole season though
Unfortunately we didn't get far enough to fully cover that. While Wakaba/Kumoko loves to talk to herself and her parallel minds, outwardly she is very introverted and anti-social unless drunk or agitated. Something we saw with her in the scenes back in Japan. Also spending years as a spider and not being able to speak to actual people regularly has set her human social interaction skills back even further.
The real secret behind her and why she of of special interest to "D" won't be revealed until much later.
I started watching the show two days ago and I finished today. I love Kumoko with all my heart and pay more attention to her fighting random beasts than I do when the show goes back to Schlain.
and FINALLY the Arachne form! I wasn't sure if they were going to show it at all. In reality, we have seen parts of her this whole time like we did in episode 6. Love this show and I look forward to season two.
Regarding the animation I love the fight scenes! It seemed a bit odd to me to see CGI mixed in, but it worked.
Somebody please tell me that we're getting a S2! I miss Kumoko-chan already!
They left us hanging & confused in the middle of a war and i don't know which side will win. I also don't know what will the humans and the yuusha party do. Since afterall because of the demon army a lot of their people were massacred, including Shun's brother and his father.. I have so many questions. I think there's more to the story.
It's kinda ridiculous that they're the "good guys" while they're starting wars, killing off people left and right but i wanna know how they'll fight Potimas. I wanna see the admins and this Admin D, etc.
PLEASE MAKE A SECOND SEASON!
LAst ep was pretty good. It got me interested again and now im debating on weather i should read the ln or not but overall it was ok. The animation was really the downfall of this anime 7/10
the ending of the season feels RUSHED as HELL!
so the conclusion is Kumoko allied with Ariel means Shun's company is good as being DOOMED in this realm...and Potimas is a real threat according to Ariel huh...
5/5.

I mean, Why should they actually care? They're just killing a bunch of Elves that they intended to genocide to begin with, and their job is to keep Shun bussy which doesn't represent even the minimum risk to them.
And about Anna, I also don't know why they should care if she died. She's the only one that's not on their "Not Kill" list anyway.
then the arachne form of kumoko looks so ugly the human body is very good but the spider body is ugly as hell i would prefered a more simple design like that from monmusume
Really? I find this design good 'cuz it differentiates Kumoko from 99% of the other anime arachnes. In fact, I found monsume Ranchera design especially stupid thanks to her pedipalps that represents her "human" legs.

The author doesn't like the episodic feeling of most LNs, the way of writing of the author is that he introduce a lot of plot elements very early that are going to be solved eventually. Just because a story element was introduced or was the focus of a certain volume it doesn't mean that is going to be finished in that same volume. The story feels incredible as a whole because everything is interconnected.
Example, the whole Sariella-Ohts war and how "Sariella's Divine Beast" was involved on it is actually introduced in volume 2 when Shun & Co were in the Academy.
Funny enough, this is actually why most LN readers thought that this story wouldn't work well as an anime.
About why Shun's side ends abruptly, this is indeed the anime fault.
In the novel it isn't a secret that Shun's party only made it so far because the Demon Army allowed them. The Demon characters even say multiple time that they allowed them to escape and guided them in their journey.
This conversation happens after Shun's battle in the forest (Episode 14).
Volume 3 - Interlude: The Ruler and the Ninja said:
Sophia: Oh dear. They got away.
Felmina: That’s rich, considering we let them get away on purpose.
Sophia: I suppose. In fact, if that dragon hadn’t come along, I was starting to wonder how we would let them escape.
Felmina: Yes, since Master told us not to lay a hand on the hero. Yet, why did you disobey that order by fighting him?
Sophia: I just wanted to see how strong he was.
Felmina: At any rate, the master’s plan has begun. We must not disrupt it by acting on our foolish impulses.
To begin with, Shun's adventure was destined to fail no matter what.
Scenes skipped by the anime but a little more spoilery than the quote above.
Sue isn't brainwashed, she has been working with Hugo and the Demons since the very beginning. Sue is indeed under the effect of Lust but she doesn't have any order, they needed the status effect to appear in her appraisal status to fool Shun. She had zero problems to kill her Father and sacrifice her Older Brother (btw Cylis, the asshole brother was brainwashed).
Volume 3 - Interlude: The Ruler and the Little Sister said:
Sophia: How do you do, Little Sister?
Sue: What do you want?
Sophia: I just came to see how you’re doing, of course.
Sue: Well, you’ve seen me, then. Please leave.
Sophia: Oh, don’t be so cold. Couldn’t we talk a little first?
Sue: I have nothing to say to you.
Sophia: Is that so? And here I thought you would need comfort, sobbing away about pretending to be brainwashed so you could betray your beloved nii-sama.
Sue: Hmph! That’s none of your concern. You’re just a god’s hunting dog!
Sophia: Oh? Aren’t you in the same boat now? That’s why you betrayed your brother, I believe.
Sue: That’s not true! I haven’t betrayed him!
Sophia: But you are obeying our master. That makes you an enemy of the human race, my dear.
Sue: Ngh!
Sophia: Ah, there it is. That face. That’s what I wanted to see.
Sue: You’re horrible.
Sophia: I’ll take that as a compliment, thank you.
And that's not everything.
Beware LN readers, the next part is Volume 13 Material
Do you really thing that the travel between continents and throught the Elroe Great Labyrinth would be so easy?
Who guide Shun's group directly to an expert Labyrinth Guide? Hyrince... He's also working with the Demon which is funny because a lot of people suspected that at the beginning but forgot about it 'cuz he wasn't acting "suspicious".
Isn't it a coincidence that Shun's party was attcked by a weak ass level 1 Earth Dragon? Kuro (Administrator Güliedistodiez) send the dragon to give them a few level ups 'cuz he though that they were too weak.
The whole point of letting Shun escape was to discover where the Elves were hiding the teleportation points and Oka didin't bothered to inspect everyone so she never noticed the small Spider that Hyrince had hiddden in the fur of his armor.
Demons never risk that a plan they had been carrying out for 15 years was ruined by Shun, so they had spies behind Shun's back since day 0. Some of the weird angled scenes on Shun's side on the first half of the season were from the POV of small spider following Shun.
And the Demon weren't the only ones spying Shun... Hello Yuri, what have you been doing?
Shun's story just end in that exaclty moments because the Demon didn't allowed them to advance anymore.

Happy at least the last ep was back up to par. Sadly the recent few episodes were awful, but overall it was so fun watching Kumoko's Dungeon Survival Guide every week. Easily one of the most-likeable characters in recent years.
On a final note. Good job "Karada Tantō", your sacrifice was not in vain. We salute you!!( ̄^ ̄)ゞ
Kumo dying many times a meme by now, but awesome how she planned for soul & body immortality. Sensei's roster must get annoying kumo keep dying reviving lol. We saw egglaying skill long ago many times, finally it's here comboed with that mind transfer.
Kyouya & Mera decent melee fighters, butler save so gar should've get more screentime. Sophia in contrast just silly on opness, busting out the red sea.
Shun already nuts now he gets taboo10, great he got op revive skill, but how'd his dense skull handle the new info?
Most Kumoko action was good fun, at times even gorgeous. Other fights keep the intensity like other episodes, but very poor camera & choreography can't follow the budget fights. At least story finally more connected, taboo apocalypse, terminator elves, white spidey cooperating (not same as working under) with demonlord, so likely she fought Julius to protect Ariel, while Ariel technically still being separate identity etc.
With this endpoint, can see stubborn Shun 'fight' her for revenge lol, hopefully by a way better studio.
would've been a 10/10 for me if the whole show was just kumoko's antics and her improving, now that they made her look like every other monster girl I don't feel like watching anymore
Yeah. Spoilers been circulating anime groups about Kumoko's human form that I can't avoid it. But that got me watching this anime. She's really pretty.
This anime is fun. Not confused with the story at all. Only criticism I have is the animation is bad. Well, there's the BD/DVD version which will have the improved version.
Well that ended nicely, I finally got to see Kumoko's human form, and meeting Shun. It feels like few last episodes animation we're a let down. Looking forward for a 2nd season. 8/10.
Seriously? That's it? That was the great big plot twist idiots wont shut up about? That's the word of god author noone could've guess? It was obvious the moment we met with that idiot Shun and of course they're bad people. They were very friendly with that bully b..ch called Fei just because she was a popular student.

They are being forced to be with bad people since they don't know the truth yet. Well that's their fate as human side. Fei was a bully (it's normal to hate her) cuz her envy back then but now she wants to apologize to Wakaba once they meet again. That's not the big twist yet since actually that was just a prologue lol.
yeah i know im part of the minority, but i felt this season (lore wise) was pretty well done. at first i hated having humans in my spider soup, but at the end it left a surprisingly nice aftertaste.
sure im insanely annoyed having a whole bunch of spoilers thrown at me. also the way they casually brushed aside reveals as if it were just introducing minor chars should be avoided (IMHO they were surprising plot twists rarely seen in anime). its a waste how they chopped and watered down a ton if they continued the pacing...
_MushiRock11_ said: I'm still not quite sure why she's so invested into protecting Sophia btw, did she figure out that she's a reincarnated individual somehow or am I missing something?
This was lost due to skipping some of Kumoko's internal monologues.
The reason is quite simple, Curiosity. Sophia is a vampire born from a human couple 'cuz being a Vampire is her reincarnation bonus, Kumoko knew this and wondered how long it would take for Sophia's life to go to shit and decided to stay close to find it.
In the WN this almost happened very early in Sophia's life because she got sick from using Appraisal too much but managed to overwrite her race to "Human" using the Concealment Skill before the doctor appraised her.
The anime follows the manga's direction albeit in a less extreme way (the manga literally change Kumoko's personality in certain scenes) of reducing Kumoko's grey but tending to black morality... And the overall tone of the story.
The best example is Kumoko kills humans:
- Anime: She did it 'cuz they made her mad but overall she doesn't mind it too much.
- Manga She started to scream that "It was an accident, I didn't want this to end like this"
- Novel: She starts by self self-justify herself but ultimately ends up saying "You know, in my past life I only followed the laws 'cuz it would have been a pain in the butt to have to suffer the punishment for breaking it but fuck it, I'm not a human anymore so I'll do whatever I want".
This goes with the novel implying through several hints that Kumoko had something wrong in her head since the very beginning.
and the real enemies of the world are, in fact, Potimas's followers.
This was also changed, in the novel neither Kumoko nor Ariel ever mentions anything about saving the world or being heroes. Ariel just has a personal vendetta against Potimas.
Kumoko doesn't give a shit about the world too, she even says this at some point, "What of the world? I don’t care. If it’s going to be destroyed then go be destroyed already. Rather than everyone I would rather save only those I approve of."

I could tell you why she has a human form(she isn't human though just looks like it.) but that would be spoilers

That's wrong, Ariel wants to save the world in the Light Novel too.
Remember that the system was created to save the world, but saving Sariel requires breaking the system.
It's entirely possible that the world will still be in danger even after the system is destroyed and Sariel restored. At the very least most of the people in the world will end up eradicated from the backlash.
goib1234 said: That's her true motive but actually save Sariel will save the world too.
That's a common misconception, saving the world is a mere side effect of Ariel's wish. If Ariel could save Sariel without the planet exploding the instant she freed her then she would not think for an instant about the current state of the planet.
This obviously change the whole intention behind her plan 'cuz this isn't a good intentioned/necessary evil shit situation, but a mere selfish act in which she doesn't care if the rest of the world actually live to see the outcoming.

Don't worry, our MC is smarter one, she knows alot about system than anyone since she is out of system.
that's why our MC wants to kill ±50% population just to recover MA energy then make world stable again beside she destroys the system with collecting 14 ruler skills. She is even trying to delete Hero title but she failed cuz Sariel choose Shun as next Hero.

No matter how Ariel hates humanity, no matter how she doesn't care about the world, but it doesn't change the fact that save Sariel will also save the world too.
But her path will sacrifice half population as an exchange of that.
Both Dustin and Ariel are trying to save the world with their own way since Potimas dies later.
Really hopping they make a sequel. Other than bad animation and cg I found this series very enjoyable. It ended at such an interesting place too, felt like things just started to connect.
- kumoko : i gave birth to 300+ children , but actually , im still an under-age virgin girl ( right now , in this isekai , her age is around 1 - 2 years ) .
She is covering her n@ked b00bs with her webs . Why does she even bother to do this ? She is alone in a dark dungeon . WHY ???? i want to see her n!pples .
And she has b00bs now , so does she belong to the Mammalia class , or the Arachnida class ?
i think she should feed her newly-hatched baby spiders with her delicious breast-milk instead of the rotten corpses of monsters , lol .
vampire girl 's nickname is baby $ucker , because she $ucks ..... milk and blood , lol .
i guess you can say : in this Arachne form , Kumoko has 2 mouths , an upper mouth and a "lower mouth" , lol , i want to feed her lower "mouth" with my hot , delicious , tasty , yummy "milky juices" .
about chapter 52-2 :
page 4 , Kumoko : I AM ONE-PUNCH-WOMAN . Dont worry , loves . Cavalry is here ( quote of Tracer from OverWatch ) .
i think there are 2 panels that parody the boxer kaolan wongsawat in the manga / anime kengan ashura and kengan omega . note his signature boxing pose and frowning eye-brows .

well, is this another anime with purpose for advertising to buy LN? i mean it end in there, the good start, start there too no? since there will be no human hero...but no news or anything about s2
