| Nice episode, glad s2 got announced. 2024 is pretty weak in term of new anime. I'm glad atleast this series was there to entertain me. The fantasy genre is polluted by isekai series, so getting this series and frieren adapted definitely save fantasy genre for me, which I thought was becoming one of the worse anime genre. There are many good fantasy source material waiting to be adapted hope they get the same kind of treatment like those two. Also, I hope season 2 also maintain the same quality of production because this is just get's crazier and crazier. So far, We have only seen tip of the iceberg. |

| Last episode of season 1. Overall, this anime is a pleasant surprise. I thought when I first started watching it, it is only a light story about cooking in a dungeon, but I am wrong. It is more than that. The story deepens as the episodes progresses. It was fun most of the times, but it will suddenly hit you with a dramatic scene that will make you emotionally attach to the characters. Speaking of characters, they ate well written and well designed. They are unique with each other, with different personalities and traits. For the final episode, they reminiscent about Falin, and made a plan to save her once and for all from the grasp of the Lunatic Magician, and from the body that she was forced to bound to. | That was a great finale, they finally have an idea on how to save Falin... literally just by eating her lol I really like the full on fantasy dungeon adventure setting and it goes all around with just having a good food out of monsters I ate well with this one. cant wait for season 2! |

| Trigger’s triumphant return. Ended up not doing a full review because ngl, I’m not the biggest fan of this show like most of tumblr or twitter are. It’s def a cool show and something different, but it never gripped me like that. Marcille was the biggest draw for me. The group dynamic was fun and there were some funny moments, but it clearly wasn’t made for me. That said I’ll be watching season 2 ofc to support trigger and get the end of the story with Falin and the mad sorcerer.. Artistically it’s very much a trigger show and it’s good to have them back. |

| Finished the final episode today. Damn for 6 months (Jan-June). I've enjoyed every single moment. The characters, animation & plot are one of the best. 💯 Will miss everyone. Studio Trigger is always amazing. Also season 2 production is decided! For now I'll miss watching Dungeon Meshi every week. Gonna miss everyone. Anyways until then. |

| That's one hell of a d&d campaign. Started with party getting wiped. Remade a party with 4th party member conveniently joining as they enter the dungeon (basically just made a new character sheet). Got zero funds so going with a crazy idea of living off of the dungeon resources. Plan is to defeat The Red Dragon. Up until the end goal campaign was mostly goofy, with subtile lore drops about the dungeon. And suddenly end goal isn't The End Goal, lore drops become the main story, now we hunting all powerful mad wizard, searching for legendary "winged lion" with a side quest of lifting the curse from cursed underground village. And for sure there are more plot twists to come. Some nice DMing. |
Love this series. My anime of the season. On another note, the gang ended up planning this: crazy stuff |

| Guys, first season is done ˚‧º·(˚ ˃̣̣̥⌓˂̣̣̥ )‧º·˚ I'm so happy they were set on adapting the whole manga. This has been such a pleasant surprise in the anime season! With frieren, you would follow the main characters venturing, but dungeon meshi is the everyday adventurers, trying to pull through and getting in trouble, no big prize apart from survival. It is a very well made anime. They also left it at an interesting, transitional point, I wanna see more meals and hope Falin gets back both her mind and body, I hope the elf also gets a favourable epilogue. Btw, the transformed dumplings looked so delicious! Aaaah dungeon meshi. |
Great final episode, now we wait for Season 2. |

| ahhhh the other shoe finally drops :3 dunmeshi you'll be missed also, gotta say, while i've got absolutely no complaints about the production quality of this show whatsoever, watching the gargoyle shenanigans was i think the first part that really made me go Ah yes. Here it is. I sure am watching a trigger show. absolutely delightful, that was such a fun sequence |
W for the character dynamics, they cooked, for something that is understated or completely neglected in other anime I think in this case it was a huge reason why the show worked really well, I thoroughly enjoyed Dungeon Meshi, glad we getting a S2. |

| Delicious in Dungeon is already the AOTY for me. Everything in this anime from the story, characters and animation has completely won me over. The characters in particular have become very dear to my heart and I loved following their journey to save Falin. The dungeon felt very alive with its own rules and ecosystem. Although cooking monsters was the main focus in the beginning, I didn't find it repetitive at all. On the contrary, everything was very creatively designed and sometimes I would have liked to try Senshi's dishes. Overall, Delicious in Dungeon has become one of my top 10 anime and I'm very happy to hear that a second season is already in production. I'm really looking forward to it! I'm totally give this anime a 10/10 |
| This final episode may not have been the greatest for a finale, but it was still quite the fun episode and it laid out the goals to be met clearly, which is basically to free the Lion, bop Thistle on the head, and lastly to eat Falin, and unfortunately not the good kind of eat lol, it’s kinda fucked up really and I have no idea how they plan to go about it, but it also fits right in with the show that’s always been about eating monsters in a dungeon, only this time it’s to save someone. But there was also a bit more to this episode, we got the conclusion to the transforming mushrooms situation, I definitely wasn’t expecting the resolution to be simply taking a shower lol, and the fight against the gargoyles was a really fun time with mini Marcille getting flung around like a doll. And we also got some backstory on Laios and Falin that went beyond what we saw before, I wish we got a bit more details than we did but it was a good scene and I’m always down to learn more about the characters we already know and love, also can’t go wrong with more pre-monster Falin. And that was it for now, because hell yes Season 2 has already been announced, thank you Trigger for not only delivering one spectacular season but also promising us another so soon, I’m seeing that this was apparently just the tip of the iceberg so I’m definitely excited to see what’s to come. That being said, man I can’t believe it’s already over, it’s always sad when a great 2-cour anime ends because that was half a year where this show was always there, but time is like that unfortunately lol. And what a show it was, Trigger absolutely killed it, they were the main reason I picked this show up and I not only love what they did for it, but now I also love this series, I see that there’s a lot of people that weren’t that into it until the plot kicked in but I enjoyed every bit of it, I’m a big fan of SoL which is probably why lol, but I won’t deny the plot is damn good along with the usual goofiness of the show. And both cours brought us some real bangers for the OPs and EDs, I think my favorite of them all is ED 2 but all of them are so good and are favorites of mine for each season this aired in. And I guess with that I now wait for Season 2, and also be sad that this was my first Spring 2024 anime to end lol, it was gonna happen eventually. |

| Lots more worldbuilding in this episode: Dwarves live 2.5 times longer than a tall-man. So Laios being 26 = 65 in his dwarf form Half-foots live to about 50, with rare exceptions up to 100. So Marcille is 10-ish in Half-foot years. Since Kensuke is also technically a monster, it also got a makeover transformation into an awesome-looking demon-sword. Although apparently inorganic and inanimate things can also change. Typical Laios, he was totally going to keep Kensuke in that demonic sword form if he could. Maybe instead of King, it seems he's more suited to become a Demon Lord of monsters. Some more depressing backstory about the siblings...I had no idea Falin dropped out of magic school to travel with Laios. I expected she would graduate with Marcille...who later went after her and joined their party. So their new goal is to eat the dragon part that got merged with Falin...couldn't they just burn the flesh, cremating it? Although I guess it wouldn't be dungeon meshi anymore if they did that. I'm going to miss Dungeon Meshi Thursdays. Those various changling-changed dumplings looked delicious (minus ones with Itsuzumi's fur), like the fried, cheese, or sweet red bean fillings. Like Solo Leveling I had high expectations because of the high score and many people saying it was great but for me it was kinda disappointing.
Maybe I would have enjoyed it more if I watched weekly since I felt the formulaic episodes get old really fast.
Nice characters and animation tho.

| @ZER0PT I have similar feelings about it. It's an okay show, but way overblown by it's loud manga fandom. At least on my behalf I had very low expectations with Solo Leveling and I always knew it would be just pop corn entertainment. With Dungeon Meshi my hopes dropped around mid 1st cour and just kept watching because like I said, it wasn't a bad show worth dropping it. I personally had better experience watching it in batches (like wiating until 4 episodes were released). |

| This started off as one of the weaker Trigger shows to turning out to be one of the best. What a fucking run. Great dub and great characters. I am happy to know season 2 is coming just right after finishing the episode. I'm so proud of this studio. |

| I didn't expect anything out of this anime when I first started out watching it, the first couple of episodes didn't really catch me but as it went on it ended up being one of my favorite anime. I am so glad it is getting a season 2! Laios calculating how many servings each party member would have to eat once they cut off the chimera part of Falins body was too funny 😂. "We're not gonna find a mid size group in the dungeon"....all the past characters they met...instant trauma response lol. |

| Loved this series way more than I thought I would, it was so lighthearted with a touch of a deeper darker subplot. I can't wait for season 2. Overall great series and amazing worldbuilding! |

| i liked this what started as a 7 due to being shouted from the heavens from fans how good it was , took a good long while to finally kick into some good worldbuilding and pretty funny moments 2nd half was a 8.5 for me though sometimes it took some time getting used to the jarring darker moments like last week but somehow always manages to return to comfort with food which again.. i get it making food out of monsters in a dungeon ...but no matter how nice they made it looked i never went damn that look's tasty and i'm hungry laid back camp with even it's most basic meals made me always need to have food on hand looking forward to the S2 they have clear goals signed up for what i assume will take us to the finale of the manga? 10/10 for the worldbuilding though really can't stress how good all the foundations they expanded on for the lore of the dungeon and it's eco system and just how things work closest dark souls/ DND anime yet |

| Well, there is a way to return Falin to normal, but hearing Senshi's idea gave me chills visualizing how it would be, and the worst part is that Laios only sees benefits in the whole plan. It's surprising how this story, which initially was about eating monsters while searching for Falin and was more comedic as we saw the food preparation process, ended up becoming a more interesting story about the dungeon, its secrets, monsters, inhabitants, and the mysteries that are yet to be discovered. The second season has already been confirmed, and now we just have to wait for it to be released to continue this culinary adventure. |

| And here ends the best anime of 2024. I can't wait for season 2. The second half of the manga is awesome! Izutsumi comforting Marcille was so cute! The animation and directing this episode were top tier. |
