Thank you for this wonderful ride. 9/10

the final battle against the random mob vine monsters was pretty good,
the whole anime though? pretty bad.

first, there are way too much fake overdramatic moment especially around willheim who always getting weird spasm whenever he get alerted by the drama. there are way too much of this

second, nothing happened at all, nothing. This is full adaptation I thought I'd get some satisfying end plot, but nope. we know nothing about basically everything about the human, beast, god stuff. and only some really vague explanations in the past 2 episode or something. the whole anime is basically just a little story about kutori, nothing more.

the plot is pretty interesting, yet they explored absolutely nothing about it and focused everything about cheesy overdramatic moments. And I don't expect 2nd season since LN anime is just some flashy advertizment for the on-going LN.

watchable, 5/10

One of the best adaptations of this year really. That ending had me speechless, but I believe Willem, and nephren are alive. Hope to see an ova soon or second season all in all said I give this an 8/10.😏

That was depressing as hell, but it was extremely confusing as well, as from this alone we don't know what exactly happened to Willem or Nephren or what's going on in that scene where it's implied Chtholly was reincarnated for some reason. Sure, there's the LNs to explain that, but in the context of the anime alone it's incredibly confusing. That being said, this felt like a fitting ending to a show that hasn't been perfect but has been magnificent when at its best. A second season would certainly be nice, even if it's just to clear a few things up about the ending.

Can anyone spoil me the novel? What happened to Williem? Did Chtolly and Ren really died? Does Williem continue as the main character in the later volume of do we get new MC? I hope Ren is alive cuz she is my favorite character.....

What a season finale! I had imagined that the last episode would have been done in this way, but I would not have thought it was even more dramatic than expected. It was very touching the narration, but they are also a bit exaggerated to force their hand to make it all so sad. The final scene in which Chtholly, after being born, smiles, is too sweet and cute. <3
I hope there is a second season, because the story so far has been a bit scathing about important issues.

For now, my vote is 7/10.

Man what an ending, Willem was one of my favorite male characters of the season. he was a fucking boss. The music in this finale was sheer brilliance.
In the end it took a while for me to realize that humans are beasts and humans are the Leprechauns as well. basically when Willem realized it so did I lol.
Great anime though 8/10

Right in the feels, damn it. It was an excellent finale, a fine juxtaposition of action and emotions. The final battle was an exceedingly depressing affair. At least the episode ended on a slightly lighter note.

I'd definitely love to stick around for more.

So it's a tragic ending after all. And the sequel will be a new beginning.

I'm sad for Chtholly and Willem's fate. But I didn't cry like I did with Chrno Crusade because ending's not clear until I read ln spoilers from everyone.

Tbh i felt like this whole show could have been so good, but in the end it was just overall a mess for me, there just wasn't enough 'care' in me and it fell flat even tough the final ep had this 'epic' feel. 6/10 and it will quickly be forgotten.

Until episode 12, I had greatly enjoyed this anime. But, seriously, how it ended. Nothing about the world had changed, or fates and treatment of the girls. What methods that were used to improve the girls fighting ability died with Willem and Chtholly. Both main characters died without saving the person they sacrificed their lives for. Chtholly lost here memories and feels for nothing in the end. Furthermore, very little morning was done. Their was some talk and tears for Chtholly, but no one seemed sad that Willem was gone. The sage was the only one who mentioned him, not even the troll lady seemed sad about it. After enjoying and loving the characters in the other episodes. The way things went made this one of the saddest, unsatisfying, and most depressing anime endings I have ever seen. Other animes with endings like this are usually sad or depressing all the way through, but this is did not see coming. I still have a hard time excepting that this was the last episode and that there is no comeback. This ending ruined the anime for me.

Such wasted potential. It felt pretty rushed.

Overall I enjoyed the series, but I prefer the LN more.

If it were 2 cour/split cour, it would have been better.

Everybody here said that they're dead but they're shown as alive on the last scene. The potraits were there because they're 'assumed' to be dead, it's not clear whether they're dead or alive as shown by the water ripple divination.
Remember that this is anime story, not the LN story.

Is there no potrait for Wilem?

Agreed.. I don't know why but I don't feel sad at all.. Though I've seen it coming from first episode. I knew that she will jump from the ship to save someone. The weird thing is she got impaled, survived from the nuke, and stand in front of the Wilem like it's nothing. In Your Lie in April anime, I can already see the ending but I got sad watching it, maybe this anime's confusing and ridiculous ending made this not 'sad' for me.

Nygglatho cut her hair to signify her sadness and you can see Ithea crying. The other kids are still fairy so they still don't understand the significance of 'death', as shown when a kid got badly hurt in earlier episode. Probably Grick is sad too but not shown.

I really enjoyed this anime overall. The ending was very sad :(
I hope we get a second season. The LN of SukaSuka has a sequel called Shuumatsu Nani Shitemasu ka? Mou Ichido dake, Aemasu ka? (aka SukaMoka). Tiat, Collon, and Pannibal are the MCs, so the second season would be about the sequel LN.
However, SukaMoka LN just recently started to be published back in April of 2016, so until it's finished we probably won't see an anime adaptation of it anytime soon.

However, there is a side story called Shuumatsu Nani Shitemasu ka? Isogashii desu ka? Sukutte Moratte Ii desu ka? Ex, which is just 1 volume (6 chapters) long. So we could very well get an OVA at time point, before the sequel.

....so after I searching for the illustration of suka Moka vol 4, I accidentally found the Chinese translation of the novel and it full so I take a peek at the end by using google translation and some other translating site cause it not entirely clear at some sentences and after that, I connect the dot together (word to word) and omfg, to all the people who think the anime ending is sad and f-up, wait until you read the ending of suka suka ln, it will make you fall into depression and rage quit at the author for how sadistic and heartless he is:

I actually almost lost it when, after Chtholly saved Willem and Nephren, the "Scarborough Fair" song started playing and she was fighting/killing the Beasts...and other stuff. :'(

Of course, it was a sad show right from the start, but I believe it only got sadder during the latter half of it.

All in all, I hope there will be a second season, like the ending of the episode seemed to be hinting at...but that's only wishful thinking at this moment in time, so.

P.S.
I quite enjoyed the show, even if it was sad and had a lot of heartbreaking moments, et cetera.

Overall Score: 8/10 (it used to be a 7/10, but...)

I whole-fully agree with all the changes they made from the novel to the anime in the last few episodes. There was a few weird/awkward choice earlier, but that finale was just impressive. I can completely forgive the previous choice considering what they did here, they nailed it and the anime version is really able to stand by itself. One of the novel adaptation that understood the best what it should do when going from a text medium to a visual medium while having only the first 3 books to adapt.

It's pretty much baccano-level of adaptation, while having a better source material so an even better result.
Really nice anime series we got there.

Does anyone know where I could find the novels?

And what's this thing about a SukaMoka? Is it a sequel? Or another series related to this?

Wow what an ending. Like I had been preparing myself for it since ep 1 but it still exceeded my expectations. To think Nephren would die/ go MIA too tho.. Didn't expect. It was painful to watch everyone struggle. Rest in peace. Willem and Ctholly's love was beautiful and Nephren watching over the two of them was beautiful, too.

Raised my score to 8.5/10.

To answer some common questions here without any spoilers.

The scene at the end was a flashback to Ctholly's appearance in the world, this was a scene in Volume 3 of the SukaSuka novel and not reincarnation.

SukaMoka is a sequel, but the anime only adapted 3 out of 5 volumes from SukaSuka, those last two volumes are pretty large (though I am unsure how many episodes they could squeeze out of them in a sequel).

This isn't a perfect ending because its just the end of a volume in the middle of the story. They did leave it ambiguous to potentially mean an eventual second season, but I can think of a better ending scene they could have left on if they were certain a second season would come.

Well it didn’t end the way I predicted it would end. Chtholly or Willem dying was the obvious prediction. I was trying to make the not-so-obvious prediction that:

But anyway, I liked how they ended it here. The author did a good job. High tension, good emotional impact, clean art, and an excellent soundtrack. Scarborough Fair is going to be a song that I will remember for a while, along with the other songs in the series.

The story was good, but it is inconclusive as there is more to the story that they can adapt. Nevertheless, I am very satisfied with the ambiguous ending and how they treated the characters. Seeing and perceiving the world they live in through their eyes was the main focus of this anime, and that is what made it so enjoyable to watch for me. Here’s hoping that we get a sequel somehow, some way…

Regardless if you liked or disliked this anime, here's one final message that you should take to heart:

Pretty intense ending if you ask me! Quite liked it. But I must say that I totally expected a different kind of anime when I first read the synopsis and watching the first episode.

In the end the pacing was still a tad bit too slow for me to actually enjoy, but the character development wasn't all too bad though.

So all in all a nice watch!

I dont think either are dead. I think they are missing assumed dead.

Remember the scene with the ancient wizard, he went to talk to some people and the radar popped up as he left.

Not only that, they all jumped out of the airship, so anyone would think they died.

I think season 2 is very possible with this ending. I also thought it meant she was reborn, but i think it's a flashback.

My theory is some sort of divine intervention, or cohabitation between the goddess and chtholly.

This episode left a tear in my eye... especially when Chtolly took that sword and started walking to the end of the ship. And the OST didn't help either... :( Still it was a 10/10 moment.
I really enjoyed this anime but it was slightly disappointing for me the fact that they didn't explain a lot of things. I still don't get why that girl with red hair wanted Chtolly, she was dead right? So why she wanted Chtolly? And why Chtolly didn't try to escape...
Many things i understood thanks to people commenting here and explaining a lot of things.
At least those 2 girls survived...

That ending was so painful to watch!! R.I.P :(

I doubt that there will be a 2nd season but some OVA's to finish the story would be nice.

I will definitely miss everyone, the little girls were always so funny and happy :)

Lots of potential that ultimately failed to manifest due to clunky pacing and writing. Some good tracks, some good moments, and still enjoyable, that this is one of my favorites of the season is more a testament to the quality of the season than the quality of this show. Recommend reading the LNs.

I wanted to enjoy this so much, and I did to an extent, but I couldn't shake the feeling of dread I've had since episode... one... Not only did it make this hard to watch, it ruined some of the joy I should have had during the happier moments of this anime. It was all to easy to tell what kind of ending this was going for... Still hit like Truck-kun though, and still really enjoyed this anime anyway... And this was an absolutely fantastic finale for this anime. That ost was beautiful, that battle was epic, and this ending was sad.

Now someone please give me an explanation to that ending so I can leave truly satisfied, I'm assuming they lived because of the ripples.

No, the MC of Sukamoka didn't appear in Sukasuka. And Willem did "die" after the events of Sukasuka.
