What a great episode man.

All of the stuff relating to Fengming was morally thought provoking, and I didnt think she would be executed to easily. Also Jinshi's identity has been hinted throughout the series but very explicably this episode, personally I realized it in the beginning and I'm glad that the ending confirmed it.

So Jinshi is actually Ah-Duo's son? I've seen the empress and they look alike too

In short, the lady in waiting is to be blamed by accidentally killed the baby of Ah-Duo with honey, and when that young Concubine came to her and said honey almost killed as a baby, this lady saw her as a threat, and not waiting Ah-Duo to find out, tries to kill her.
Unsucessfuly as we seen in past episodes, but it lead to this investigation, thus a servant of Ah-Duo, knowing about this and wanting to save the lady in wait's (Feng something) hide, kills herself to prevent attention to Feng to come up again.

And Feng chooses to take the blame for trying to kill the younger concubine Lings something, and die, to avoid having Ah-Duo, not only notice, but also avoid her having problems with such a scandal that could destroy her life, since hey, these are her's servants!

In the middle of all of this, Ah-Duo son (which would be the first son of the current emperor) is not truly dead but was switched, with the son of the previous emperor (which is the dad of the current emperor), thus Jinshi is actually YES the son of Ah-Duo, and the son of the current emperor, NOT his brother.

I think the current emperor and Jinshin may know this, same for Ah-Duo, which would make that scene with both drinking together very meaningful and the same goes for the scene before and after it.

To summarize, an amazing episode with all these revelations, now will Maomao ever realize she was spot on?

gotta admit, that moment between jinshi and maomao was pure delight, and a moment of pure vulnerability on jinshi's end. and it was so nice of her to indulge his tearful request hehehe

Oh this episode was off the chart. Maomao's confrontation of Fengming, all the connections and secrets being revealed while building so much tension about Maomao's safety, so so good. The tragedy of Ah-Duo and the secret identity of Jinshi just add even more complexity. So excited to see where it all goes. Hearing how much has yet to be revealed in the web novel is driving me crazy, I need to know!!

I was kinda confused with the "baby swap" thing, but one thing's for sure. Jinshi might actually be Ah Duo's son, which makes him the prince. And I think this would be true considering that their looks are VERY similar.

Brro, that shit was retarded! The way she so confidently blabbed about her conjectures without a single piece of evidence was insane. The beginning of this episode was absurd. That was straight up some Sherlock Holmes bullshit reality warping detective work. Imagine if after she said all that crap, she was just wrong...

This is still weird and gross. He's been touching her constantly since they met and she can't do anything about it or she'll e executed. They are not close, this is just weird. I don't like Jinshi one bit bro.

Maomao approaches Fengming, wanting to know what happened during Concubine Ah Duo’s delivery. She deduced everything. Including how Fengming’s mistake killed that child.

Concubines Ah Duo and Lishu were quite close, and it was Fengming who created the rift between them, just to protect her mistake. She regrets for her ignorance, but doesn’t want to come out.

Fengming turned herself in, and Maomao pretends to be dumb. The matter of the child’s death was suppressed.

Jinshi meets Concubine Ah Duo. After which, the concubine meets Maomao on top of a wall. Jinshi’s sudden voice made Maomao trip and fall on him. Jinshi is drunk after drinking with Concubine Ah Duo.

Jinshi hugs Maomao and cries, and she accompanies him silently.

Maomao realises that Concubine Ah Duo and Jinshi resemble a lot. She connected the dots, but then just shakes it off. When Concubine Ah Duo leaves after giving up the crown, Concubine Lishu rushes towards her.

this show is crazy with all these plot twists, thank goodness I picked it back up after leaving it on hold for a year or so; I am so curious on what is going on with Maomao and her father's relationship after the past reveal of her father's involvement in the pavilion

The apothecary detective strikes again! (ngl, Maomao's safety precaution is something, she really thought that far.)

Yea, they can't really hide the resemblance between Lady Ah-Duo and "Manager" Jinhsi.

Oh so that's the reason why the honey was so important in the previous episode, now I understand. Maomao discovered the truth about what happened 17 years ago, confronted the culprit and was even ready to get stabbed, thanks to her a person was executed and pretty strange how she was able to recreate what happened with only a piece of the information. So Jinshi isn't actually son of the empress but of the concubine and Maomao's father was involved in that exchange. That thing Jinshi said, is the same case with Maomao?
Jinshi harassing Maomao again, disgusting.

Nevermind, THIS is the best episode. Holy cow is that amazing. The entire scene with Fengming was crazy. Seeing her start to cry actually made me kinda tear up. Really sucks how she got executed, cuz her motive wasn't a bad one, but unfortunately more bad than good. Baffling how this show makes us care so much about some characters in just an episode.

Wow, the plot is getting really heavy. The way Maomao analyzes every situation is impressive. Given my profession as a detective, I love and appreciate every situation and how it builds up to one final conclusion.

I really thought Fengming was going to cut Maomao when she exposed her. While she came prepared with some paper armor, that covering wouldn’t have saved her. I’m just glad her love for Ah-Duo caused her to turn herself in. But execution? Harsh

For Jinshi to show all of these vulnerable emotions to Maomao these recent episodes, he’s grown to really like her.

P.S.. I always knew Ah-Duo and Jinshi looked alike since day 1!

Feels sad for Fengming. But judging her personality, I thought that she would confess at some point out of loyalty to her master.

The baby swap thing got me confused. I hope this gets clarified further in the future.
