That's a pattern I've seen in some shonen, the fact that the MC is pretty boring compared to the antagonists. I’ll admit HxH definitely has that affect! Hisoka is a very.. very interesting antagonist. And yeah, shounen sometimes sometimes has characters that are a blank slate, but sometimes has really good side characters or antagonists. |

| Since my school went digital-only mid-March, I've been watching The King's Avatar, the Love Live Movie, Rurouni Kenshin, Inuyasha and a few seasonals like My Hero 4 (weekly on Toonami), Fruits Basket 2, ToG, and My Next Life as a Villainess, but I also watched- Monster, Hanamonogatari, Tsukimonogatari, Owarimonogatari, Tamako Market/Love Story, Shikabane Hime 2 + special, Sunday Without God, Slayers, Mekakucity Actors, Id:Invaded, Bofuri (Shield loli), Archenemy and Hero, Tiger King, SAO Movie + War for the Underworld (didn't watch the series in order, I'll finish season 2 eventually tho lol), FGO First Order + Babylonia, Violet Evergarden Gaiden, The Devil is a Part-Timer, Ayakashi, Rec + special, Kubikiri Cycle, Love Live OVA, Beastars, Chrono Crusade, Jojo Part 4, Seirei no Moribito, Cyber City Oedo 808, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection, Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honneamise, Bungou Stray Dogs, Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro, The Animatrix, School Days, Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru, xxxHOLIC: A Midsummer Night's Dream, Ani ni Tsukeru Kusuri wa Nai!, Nihon Animator Mihonichi, and Qing Chi Hong Xiaodou Ba! A lot of those are movies or shorter anime I did for challenges tho, so the number of titles might be a little misleading since they really weren't too long (save for Monster, Jojo part 4 and a few others). I just finished the 2020 anime challenge like 2 days ago tho so once I finish another limited time April one I'll prob try and clear out some of my on-hold list, and watch a few classics and longer anime. |

| Three things! 1) BNA - So far this has been great. Love the color palette and the feel. Strong themes tackling racism. I hope it pans out well, but it's off to a great start! 2) Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu - Finally getting around to seeing what's in store with this one. From what I see, people either love it or hate it. At first, Haruhi's character was an overbearing sociopath, but I'm actually finding her more interesting as the show develops. We'll see. 3) Mo Dao Zu Shi - This is actually a Chinese Dongua, not anime. It's really good so far though. Historical. Absolutely gorgeous animation. |
