BLEACH Credits to AP forums poster TheDaz I was thinking about the arrancars the other day, and their origins. I remembered that gillians are loads of hollows fused together, adjuchas are made up of gillians, and Vastro Lordes of adjuchas. That has to be a lot of hollows, I thought. That's bound to look bad on the shinigamis record I thought. So, bored, with time to spare and a calculator at hand, I got to work on just how badly Aizens posse meant SS had screwed up. The result astounded me. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! Brace yourselves, this is the Grand Total Calculation Of Souls Lost Due To SS Incompetence concentrated in Aizens goons alone. Now, we start at the bottom of the food chain. Gillians are said to be made out of several hundred hollows, so I'm going to assume 500 hollows per average gillian. Adjuchas are formed by a gillian consuiming other gillians, but we are never told how many. However, Since gillians are made from hundreds of regular hollows and Vastro Lordes from more than 3000 Adjuchas (going by Grimmjows flashback) I think its safe to assume that the individuals required for the Gillian--> Adjuchas step is at the very least the same amount as the hollow--> gillian step. So, we assume an Adjuchas is made from 500 Gillians, making it a total of 500x500= 250000 hollows pr. Adjuchas. As mentioned, Grimmjows flashback reveals that consuming 3000 adjuchas- of increasing strength-was insufficient to become a Vastro Lorde. This is another assumption, but to me around 4500 Adjuchas or so doesn't seem out of order to reach VL, considering Grimmjows' Fraccions strenght. That makes it 1.125 x10^9 Hollows per Vastro Lorde. A lot of you can see where this is going. Now, Aizens army was made up of the following menos: 38 Gillian (19000 hollows) Aaroniero (Gillian + 33650 = 34150) Minimum 18 Adjuchas, including All Fraccion (If GJ's were Adjuchas, the higher ranked espadas' should be too), and 3 Privaron Espada. Maximum 26 Adjuchas, including Nells Fraccion, Rudobone, the arrancar bitches and some Espada if we go by the minimum Vastro Lorde count (read on). Vastro Lordes: Kubo said that "most espada were vastro Lordes". This can be intepreted as everyone sans Aaroniero, or just "more than half". Considering his strength Wonderweiss is definetely one, and Luppi and Nell are possibly too. So, at least 7 Vastro Lordes, and at most 12. (MY NOTE: Erroneous- Only Ulquiorra and ranks above were revealed to be Vasto Lorde. The point still stands, though.) This results in, are you ready for this, a grand total of 7880303150-13306553150 hollows. Or in other words, a range of around 10 BILLION PEOPLE that shinigami failed to save. 10 BILLION MONSTERS whom the SS failed to take out, even with 2000 year old Yama around. 10 BILLION TIMES the SS has been late for work. But wait, let's not stop here! Everyone, what does hollows feed on? Souls! Even asuming that a hollow on average only manages to eat one person/shinigami, the amount of souls lost to shinigami incompetence doubles to 15760606300- 27013106300. Or in other words, almost 30 Billion at the most. I would like to remind you all that the current population of earth, the highest it's ever been, is about 6,5 billion. Entire premise of Bleach, I declare you fundamentally, utterly, completely, irrevocably destroyed. Lol Kubo, lol Soul Society. |

you need to take into consideration past generations. Also, IIRC Ulquiorra was debatable as either Vasto Lorde or Adjuchas, so it's 3-4 Vasto Lordes at most. I'm not even sure Starrk and Barragan are vastos. You want sucky mathematics? Try Naruto failing the Genin exam twice and being the same age as everyone. |

Silva had sent Killua to Heavens Arena when he was 5, to the 200th floor, but Killua never made it there, so he intended for him to learn Nen, killua just did not. 3) He doesn't know it's Nen but it isn't impossible to know what it is. You've got Illumi's needles, Hisoka's cards, Netero 'nen-attacking' them on the blimp in episode 7. It was just a sensation that wasn't linked to Nen. Luffy knew or could sense/feel what Mantra was but it wasn't until a long time later that he linked it with what is now known as Haki. Here are some bullshit moments/inconsistencies(possibly plot holes) and questions from Naruto and Naruto Shippuden. I'm not claiming any are plot holes right out, they could really just be my misunderstanding or something not yet explained. But I recently rewatched Naruto and Shippuden so I noted anything that stuck out to me. Naruto's age compared to class. This has already been mentioned but he had supposedly failed the exam like twice. He's perverted in the beginning when teaching Konohamaru but when he meets Jiraiya he's not and fails to see why Jiraiya would want to spend so much time with girls. With Naruto's clone and the Fuuma shuriken, it shows him catch the shuriken with the outside of his bag and then pull it out from the inside after rummaging through it. Zabuza's signs took forever in the beginning for just the water dragon jutsu, later large jutsus don't require much. Or zabuza took too slow for being a high level shinobi as later they show them doing many signs in less than a second. Somehow Sakura was able to pin Naruto to a tree with a kunai. If Naruto and the rest told the people that the Sound were with Orochimaru, they'd know the sound instructor present during the preliminary matches was him. Where did Inner Sakura go? Does Shikamaru's power only work within a certain area around him or does it go by the shadow's surface area? I believe it's the latter as he can use other shadows to increase the distance. In that case why doesn't he make it very thin like when he used it to pretend it was the string's shadow in the chuunin exam. Sasuke and Kakashi arrived to the Chuunin Exam finals in what looked like wind, could Kakashi use some sort of wind jutsu? Gamabunta was able to transform and then use a tail to pick up something. Why don't people transform into something that has more arms. Of course it wouldn't be useful once it was hit. But temporarily it could work. Was he techincally doing the clone training back in the hotel while waiting for Jiraiya before Itachi came. I believe Jiraiya told him to practice molding chakra or whatever. He used multiple clones to all meditate/mold chakra. And I don't believe for a second that he had never noticed the effect of the clones, he's used them for so long and in every fight he's ever had. In the beginning they said they grouped people up by test scores(which is why the top student Sasuke was with Naruto) but Tsunade said that the third grouped them that way on purpose. And it's quite an odd combination, all the tracking people together, close combat people, always two guys and one girl, etc. How did the sand get there in time to save the people who went to get Sasuke and why did Tsunade pick them. In Shippuden Baki says it takes 3 days to travel from Konoha to the sand, was it really that long that Naruto and them were chasing him?(I know it was at least one day) and possibly they were closer. When did Kabuto become Sasori's subordinate? Has Lee's lotus ever worked right? Can Kakashi copy all nature transformations? In the anime(and I believe not in the manga) he was able to use fire transformation. That with the water jutsu earlier, his chidori, and earth techniques, he can use at least 4. No one helped Naruto even though his dad was that important. Kakashi was his father's student and watched his mom before she gave birth, you think he would at least try to help. Same with Jiraiya. And who raised him? Naruto training for 2 and a half years only learned him how to use a slightly larger rasengan that's used like 2 times. Later in like the span of a year he learns the rasenshuriken, oodama rasengan, small rasenshurikens, etc. The way Zetsu treated Tobi after Sasori died, even though he knew who we was. Though this could be considered just acting. Sasuke's no block sword isn't used much after it's introduction. Everyone can do the rasengan now. Bullshit. Kakashi said the rasengan is an incomplete ninjutsu yet Jiraiya said it was complete in the oodama rasengan flashback(need confirmation on this one though). The way Naruto learns to use the rasen shuriken was bullshit. We wasted episodes on something that could have been solved using the same technique he used to master the rasengan in the first place. Taking advantage or even mentioning the weaknesses of the nature transformations only started taking place in fights after it was explained. How did Kimimaro talk to Jugo about Sasuke being his replacement if he didn't know until right before he left. Was Jugo in the same base? Camoflauge jutsu is rarely used even though they're ninjas. How do people find summoning animals? Jiraiya had to randomly get transported to Mt Myoboku. Sasuke went from snakes to a hawk after changing his group name. Jiraiya said the only one who can summon the kyuubi is madara, did he teach Obito? A manga connected one. Jiraiya said Nagato could use all nature transformations which no one can do, but Hiruzen his sensei could. Why did Itachi go into war at age 4? Naruto's genjutsu training over the timeskip was useless as the only time he tried to use it, it failed(and Itachi wasn't even at 1/10 of his full power IIRC). And he eventually has the Kyuubi to break him out of genjutsus. Juugo's weak despite being so hyped up. Kimimaro was his motive and now it's just keeping Sasuke alive, nothing else to his character, he isn't even that strong(easily beaten by hachibi and raikage). If Itachi's crow was in Naruto's stomach, did the frog notice it? How come when Naruto gathered natural energy one of the Pain's died? Frogs are not the only ones who can gather natural energy? Jugo and Kabuto do. And connected to that is the statues on Mt Myoboku. Depending on how natural energy works, they shouldn't look like frogs. And I thought the frog guy said they hadn't really taught anyone besides Naruto and Jiraiya. Though those statues could have been frogs in the first place. Couldn't Naruto make small clones to sit on his shoulders to get sage chakra? If you can transform into another species and you could make yourself smaller(Naruto as a rock, Jiraiya as a bucket) then I don't see why he couldn't have done it. Naruto taught Konohamaru the rasengan. And he was talking about entrusting things rather than being entrusted with things, that's what Shikamaru told him to get better when Jiraiya died. So does that mean he taught Konohamaru the rasengan in between when he met with Shikamaru and then left to do Sage training? How much time was in between there, they made it seem like almost no time. Hiding clones for sage jutsu is useless since he got Kyuubi mode. Same with the sage fighting style for the most part. How'd the grandma frog summon them while on the wall looking over the village, she summoned them there, they popped up like 30 seconds later at least in the middle of the town. We've never seen someone summon someone long range. The third hokage did a horrible job in keeping people quiet about Naruto. At least in every flashback someone talks about it. Can Nagato only bring back people who he killed, if not then why didn't he bring back Yahiko? And they were planning on having him bring back Madara. How come Danzo thought it was Itachi who told Sasuke the truth and not Obito who said he met him at the massacre or whatever. And Itachi was surprised that Obito knew what happened in the massacre. Or was he surprised that he was actually alive after all he left that trap. In Obito's flashback it was his right side that was crushed and therefore needed the white zetsu transplant or whatever. But in Kushina's flashback after being hit by Minato's rasengan he was holding his left hand as it glooped off. Though I believe his flashback also showed that he wore that one zetsu over his body, but I don't think it would extend his reach that much. Misleading Tsunade death thing. Their actions weren't even questionable, it was sure that she had died. The scene with Kisame escaping is one of the biggest bullshit moments in the whole story. First Naruto getting his foot stuck(that was kinda fine), but Yamato staying with him to bandage up his leg. Everyone surrounding Kisame, yet everyone took their eyes off enough so that he had 5 seconds to slip into the water, Bee never noticed that he was down there and even while his chakra was being taken he didn't notice. And then don't even get me started on the water prison jutsu. Why does Kisame look like that? He says he's a human. If Obito was really smart he would have planted some Zetsus in the crowd of ninjas during the large meeting to possibly cause a riot that would kill people and lower their morale. They also changed a little too easily from Gaara's speech. It was said that Gaara became a shinobi doing normal work after the Konoha invasion(he obviously did it for a while before gaining trust) yet he was the 5th hokage while his father who was the 4th died before the Konoha. Why didn't they get a new Kazekage before he became old enough to become the kazekage. The people in Konoha wanted one right after the third hokage died, when the fifth went into a coma, the sand even wanted a new one less than a day after Gaara was kidnapped. Couldn't Sai and the rest told headquarters about how the resurrected people can go away if they pass over. So the others can push that. How come Sakura had the info about the white clones and not headquarters. After exhausting all of his chakra when he was alive his hair turned white(I'm talking about Nagato) but after absorbing Bee's or Naruto's chakra his hair turned back to red and he looked younger. Is that really all that he needed to get better? Could he have done that while he was alive? The first time they used that way of communicating was in the war. Wouldn't it have had use earlier? How did Pain pick the same people that Jiraiya met? Coincidence? Wouldn't Kyuubi have realized that Obito's chakra wasn't the same as Madara's chakra? He mentioned it to Sasuke that he remembered his chakra. |

Or zabuza took too slow for being a high level shinobi as later they show them doing many signs in less than a second. That was to show the viewer the hand signs. And the Water Dragon Jutsu, actually takes 44 signs to make, which is why he was slow. I think while Zabuza was a high skilled ninja, he performed it slow to put emphasis on how it's high skilled. The number of hand seals also has an affect on the Chakara required. Using more hand sings, probably means using less Chakara. This isn't explicitly mentioned but it is heavily implied at. Somehow Sakura was able to pin Naruto to a tree with a kunai. Only bullshit, if you bring real logic to it. If throwing a Kunai can kill someone, then it means it has enough penetration power to go through cloths and stick to a tree. If Naruto and the rest told the people that the Sound were with Orochimaru, they'd know the sound instructor present during the preliminary matches was him. Naruto wasn't aware of that nor I do I think he knew who Oro was. I think only Sakura knows, because the three sound ninja told her that Oro wants Sasuke. And Sasuke later on told Sakura to say quiet about the curse mark and the situation. Later on, Kakashi faces Oro (dress as the sound instructor) when he was performing the seal on Sasuke. So that piece of information, wouldn't have mattered anyway. Where did Inner Sakura go? I think she appears in comedic scenes in the first arc of Shippuden during Sakura's catchphrase. Does Shikamaru's power only work within a certain area around him or does it go by the shadow's surface area? I believe it's the latter as he can use other shadows to increase the distance. In that case why doesn't he make it very thin like when he used it to pretend it was the string's shadow in the chuunin exam. I don't understand what you are getting at. He usually uses it like that. Off the top of my head, he used it against Temari, Tayuya and Hidan and Kakzu. Sasuke and Kakashi arrived to the Chuunin Exam finals in what looked like wind, could Kakashi use some sort of wind jutsu? It was just a flashy entrance. Nothing else. When did Kabuto become Sasori's subordinate? At the 3 year time span. Probably. Naruto training for 2 and a half years only learned him how to use a slightly larger rasengan that's used like 2 times. Later in like the span of a year he learns the rasenshuriken, oodama rasengan, small rasenshurikens, etc. He got better at molding Chakara, improved physical strength, increased his knowledge and became a more solid Shinobi. Sasuke's no block sword isn't used much after it's introduction. It was used against Killer Bee which is at episode 142-143. Kakashi said the rasengan is an incomplete ninjutsu yet Jiraiya said it was complete in the oodama rasengan flashback(need confirmation on this one though). No. Naruto was complaining about wanting to learn a new jutsu. Jiraya scolded him and told him, it's better if he tried to complete the Rasengan. He never commented on Oodama Rasengan. He himself uses the Giant Rasengan, so it wouldn't make sense for him to call it incomplete, if the Giant Rasengan was the complete form. The way Naruto learns to use the rasen shuriken was bullshit. We wasted episodes on something that could have been solved using the same technique he used to master the rasengan in the first place. I liked that, and the first time I watched, I didn't see it coming. Well, I like training arcs anyway. Camoflauge jutsu is rarely used even though they're ninjas. It's used in secret missions, or mission that needs stealth and when preparing for an ambush (i.e Plan to ambush Hidan and Kakazu at the exchange point). Most of the battles that happens in Naruto are not of that kind. How do people find summoning animals? Jiraiya had to randomly get transported to Mt Myoboku. Sasuke went from snakes to a hawk after changing his group name. http://naruto.wikia.com/wiki/Summoning_Technique http://naruto.wikia.com/wiki/Hawks Jiraiya said the only one who can summon the kyuubi is madara, did he teach Obito? I don't remember Jiraiya saying that. Teach Obito what? if someone can control a tailed beast through doujutsu, then the summoning is the easy part. Madara was praised because he could control the Kyuubi with his eyes, not because of the summoning part. A manga connected one. Jiraiya said Nagato could use all nature transformations which no one can do, but Hiruzen his sensei could. When did Jiraiya say that? Naruto's genjutsu training over the timeskip was useless as the only time he tried to use it, it failed(and Itachi wasn't even at 1/10 of his full power IIRC). And he eventually has the Kyuubi to break him out of genjutsus. It was an exposition on how to break the genjustsu. It doesn't neccessairly matter if he failed or not. What are you talking about? The excessive natural enegry can make somoeone turn into stone, like it's been established in Mt.Myopoku, that's relevant to the frog sides. It has not been mentioned how the Snakes, Oro and Kabuto trained to get to Seinen mode. There eyes looks like Snakes, so it obviously differs from the frog type. Hiding clones for sage jutsu is useless since he got Kyuubi mode. Same with the sage fighting style for the most part. Except he used it in the war arc, at least twice? The third hokage did a horrible job in keeping people quiet about Naruto. At least in every flashback someone talks about it. His job was to protect Naruto. He can't do anything about people's gossip.... Can Nagato only bring back people who he killed, if not then why didn't he bring back Yahiko? And they were planning on having him bring back Madara. He didn't know how within the time span that he could 've, but to compensate for his ignorance, he tried to make up for it by giving Yahiko 'new life' as his Deva Path. That's my interpretation of it. Nagato might have had other reasons. I can think of other possibilities that prevented him. How come Danzo thought it was Itachi who told Sasuke the truth and not Obito who said he met him at the massacre or whatever. And Itachi was surprised that Obito knew what happened in the massacre. Or was he surprised that he was actually alive after all he left that trap. Danzo met Obito back then? Danzo met Shisui and took his eyes. Danzo thinks the only one who know the secret of the massacre is himself, Itachi and the elders. Misleading Tsunade death thing. Their actions weren't even questionable, it was sure that she had died. What? It was said that Gaara became a shinobi doing normal work after the Konoha invasion(he obviously did it for a while before gaining trust) yet he was the 5th hokage while his father who was the 4th died before the Konoha. Why didn't they get a new Kazekage before he became old enough to become the kazekage. The people in Konoha wanted one right after the third hokage died, when the fifth went into a coma, the sand even wanted a new one less than a day after Gaara was kidnapped. Kinoha wanted one because they had no future one in mind. The sand treated Garra as a weapon, they wanted him as Kazekage to further control him and the village. After he was kidnapped, he is no longer a Jinchuriki because the possibility of saving him was low, so they saw no use of him. After exhausting all of his chakra when he was alive his hair turned white(I'm talking about Nagato) but after absorbing Bee's or Naruto's chakra his hair turned back to red and he looked younger. Is that really all that he needed to get better? Could he have done that while he was alive? The first time we see Nagato, was when was operating the six paths of Pain. So, no looking better was not of his priorities, as evident by him pushing himself over and over again during the invasion. How did Pain pick the same people that Jiraiya met? Coincidence? Pain didn't pick those people because Jiraiya met them. We were shown those people, because Pain picked them later on, to give us a hint, about the ability of Pain. Jiraya met a lot of people during his travels. It only makes sense to show the people who are later relevant and connect with the story. Wouldn't Kyuubi have realized that Obito's chakra wasn't the same as Madara's chakra? He mentioned it to Sasuke that he remembered his chakra. Kyuubi didn't recognize Obito's Chakara. He said 'You'. |

Throwing a baseball can kill someone. And kunais aren't really meant for that, I don't see Sakura as having that kind of strength. But like I said, most of these don't have to be inconsistencies, plot holes, or bs moments. They can be kind of questions. Naruto wasn't aware of that nor I do I think he knew who Oro was. I think only Sakura knows, because the three sound ninja told her that Oro wants Sasuke. And Sasuke later on told Sakura to say quiet about the curse mark and the situation. I said Naruto and the rest just as a way to say that group. I believe Orochimaru mentioned something about the sound to them(meaning Sakura and Sasuke). Though now that I realize it, he also mentioned that he made a new village, the sound to Anko. Yet she didn't do shit. Later on, Kakashi faces Oro (dress as the sound instructor) when he was performing the seal on Sasuke. So that piece of information, wouldn't have mattered anyway. Wouldn't have mattered after that, but before as he was at that little ceremony then yeah it would have mattered. I think she appears in comedic scenes in the first arc of Shippuden during Sakura's catchphrase. So she basically disappeared? I don't understand what you are getting at. He usually uses it like that. Off the top of my head, he used it against Temari, Tayuya and Hidan and Kakzu. He makes it like 6 inches wide normally, he was shown to make it like way smaller during the chuunin exam. That's a lot of length he could have added. It was just a flashy entrance. Nothing else. Possibly. At the 3 year time span. Probably. Which three year time span?He got better at molding Chakara, improved physical strength, increased his knowledge and became a more solid Shinobi. Didn't see any of that. Still was the same old Naruto. It was used against Killer Bee which is at episode 142-143. Hmmm and it's been almost 300 episodes since he first used it and it's only been used once. Sounds like I was right and it wasn't used much after.I liked that, and the first time I watched, I didn't see it coming. Well, I like training arcs anyway. I was surprised too, but I don't know if it was because it was so surprising that he would think of that, or that it was so obvious and stupid that I didn't think they would do that. It's used in secret missions, or mission that needs stealth and when preparing for an ambush (i.e Plan to ambush Hidan and Kakazu at the exchange point). Most of the battles that happens in Naruto are not of that kind. Is that the only example that you remember? I think they used it like two other times, once in the chuunin exam with Kabuto and I forget the other. And while most of the battles are not like that. There are some like that that they didn't use it on and I think it would come in handy in other situations. So you're saying that Sasuke just kuchiyosed himself and was sent to the land of the hawks? That was an interesting link though, for some reason I never checked there. I don't remember Jiraiya saying that. Teach Obito what? if someone can control a tailed beast through doujutsu, then the summoning is the easy part. Madara was praised because he could control the Kyuubi with his eyes, not because of the summoning part. I don't remember exactly where either.A manga connected one. When did Jiraiya say that? In one of the flashbacks. Probably when he was talking to Tsunade or something. He was talking about the rinnegan and how Nagato was able to learn all of them something nobody has done or something like that. I don't remember where but it did happen. It was an exposition on how to break the genjustsu. It doesn't neccessairly matter if he failed or not. It matters to me. It just adds on more to how I feel about how he hasn't changed over the timeskip. What are you talking about? What do you mean what am I talking about? The excessive natural enegry can make somoeone turn into stone, like it's been established in Mt.Myopoku, that's relevant to the frog sides. It has not been mentioned how the Snakes, Oro and Kabuto trained to get to Seinen mode. There eyes looks like Snakes, so it obviously differs from the frog type. Yes that was established. "Relevant to the frog sides" what? How does it differ? Natural energy is natural energy right? Or is there frog natural energy? Chicken natural energy? And it's sennin not seinen. Except he used it in the war arc, at least twice? I thought it was once. Anyways now that he has kyuubi mode I would be surprised if it gets a lot of use anymore. His job was to protect Naruto. He can't do anything about people's gossip.... Well he sure did a good job.He didn't know how within the time span that he could 've, but to compensate for his ignorance, he tried to make up for it by giving Yahiko 'new life' as his Deva Path. Well when did Madara die? Madara was supposed to have been brought back through that jutsu. I wonder when Yahiko died. That's my interpretation of it. Nagato might have had other reasons. I can think of other possibilities that prevented him. Danzo met Obito back then? Danzo met Shisui and took his eyes. Idk. Obito said when he met Danzo after the five kage summit, hey I haven't seen you since that night or something like that. I believe he alluded or mentioned the massacre.Danzo thinks the only one who know the secret of the massacre is himself, Itachi and the elders. And he took Shisui's eyes before the massacre, days before at least I know that's why it surprised me. What? When it showed Suzune listening to her heart beat. And then her eyes looked all sad and then she started crying or whatever. It wasn't anything questionable like all of a sudden someone saying her condition had changed. Instead it clearly looked like she had died and I thought that was bullshit.Kinoha wanted one because they had no future one in mind. The sand treated Garra as a weapon, they wanted him as Kazekage to further control him and the village. After he was kidnapped, he is no longer a Jinchuriki because the possibility of saving him was low, so they saw no use of him. I'm talking about the timeline from the failed Konoha invasion and then sometime during the timeskip when he was made kazekage. It doesn't make sense to me that they wouldn't have a kazekage for that long just to wait for him to grow older so they can control him.The first time we see Nagato, was when was operating the six paths of Pain. So, no looking better was not of his priorities, as evident by him pushing himself over and over again during the invasion. But getting better should have been one. You know, not dying. Pain didn't pick those people because Jiraiya met them. We were shown those people, because Pain picked them later on, to give us a hint, about the ability of Pain. Jiraya met a lot of people during his travels. It only makes sense to show the people who are later relevant and connect with the story. That makes a little more sense.Kyuubi didn't recognize Obito's Chakara. He said 'You'. That's kinda my point. Even though Obito was claiming himself as Madara, the Kyuubi never said "No, that's not him" and we know he remembers Madara's chakra as he commented on the similarity between Sasuke's and Madara's. |

So he did it slow on purpose? That doesn't sound like a smart thing to do. I don't remember situation he was in, but it's smarter for him to do that to save Chakara. I actually don't even remember him doing it slow, he did it incredibly fast, it only took time because he used all 44 seals. Him doing the hand signs fast prove that he is a high level Shinobi. Kakashi copied it and did it in the same pace. Never heard of that being implied. ''The exact amount of chakra necessary to perform a technique is manipulated through hand seals.[1] There are different sequences of hand seals for every technique, requiring memorisation.'' So she basically disappeared? She is not a real thing. She is just a part of her personality. http://naruto.wikia.com/wiki/Inner_Sakura It slowly disappeared but remained at certain parts like comic reliefs due to her character development. He makes it like 6 inches wide normally, he was shown to make it like way smaller during the chuunin exam. That's a lot of length he could have added. I remember him making it a thin as possible. Which three year time span? The time after Sasuke joined Oro. The time skip between Naruto leaving the village and coming back. There is also the fact, that we are not shown what Kabuto does most of the time. He was supposed to be a spy and a double spy for a long time. A lot is shown regarding his spy life in his flashback when he faced Itachi. Hmmm and it's been almost 300 episodes since he first used it and it's only been used once. Sounds like I was right and it wasn't used much after. Right about what? he used it before against Diedera to dud his explosives. He used it as long as he saw fit. Later on, he obviously won't use it, because he became stronger and has significantly more effeictive techniques. Actually he used it on all of his fights before acquiring Susanoo and Mangekyo and against Bee. That's sufficient, it's not the best move in the world or anything. I was surprised too, but I don't know if it was because it was so surprising that he would think of that, or that it was so obvious and stupid that I didn't think they would do that. Lol Idk. I felt stupid too because it was obvious, yet it didn't cross my mind. Is that the only example that you remember? I think they used it like two other times, once in the chuunin exam with Kabuto and I forget the other. And while most of the battles are not like that. There are some like that that they didn't use it on and I think it would come in handy in other situations. Examples? In one of the flashbacks. Probably when he was talking to Tsunade or something. He was talking about the rinnegan and how Nagato was able to learn all of them something nobody has done or something like that. I don't remember where but it did happen. In the third hokage page. It says that it's rare and only few people can do it, meaning there are other people beside him and Nagato. I don't remember Jiraya telling Tsunade in that way. I remember him saying that the Rienngan can have such power. What do you mean what am I talking about? Yes that was established. "Relevant to the frog sides" what? How does it differ? Natural energy is natural energy right? Or is there frog natural energy? Chicken natural energy? And it's sennin not seinen. I already told you, it's exccive natural energy that can turn someone into stone and miss with his apparence. It's all about balance, and one of the pain, didn't know how to balance the natural energy, thus he turned into a frog stone. It does differ. Otherwise Naruto and Jiraya Sennin mode wouldn't look like a frog, while Kabuto and Oro would look like Snakes. The Natural energy is the same but when used by different methods it can have different effects on the sage modes. I thought it was once. Anyways now that he has kyuubi mode I would be surprised if it gets a lot of use anymore. One with Madara, he used Rasen Shuriken and Madara absorbed it with his Reinnegan. The second is when he got swallowed, and hid the Sennin clone in Son Goku's stomach. So yeah, the Sennin mode can still be useful to him depending on the situation. It's not entirely forgotten, especially when if Naruto, runs out of Kyuubi Chakara, which he did in those two examples. Well when did Madara die? Madara was supposed to have been brought back through that jutsu. I wonder when Yahiko died. Yes he was. But Nagato only joined Obito after Yahiko's death, there was no indication that he knew about the jutsu prior to forming the current Akatsuki. By the time he formed the current Akatsuki, Yahiko was already used as Pain. When it showed Suzune listening to her heart beat. And then her eyes looked all sad and then she started crying or whatever. It wasn't anything questionable like all of a sudden someone saying her condition had changed. Instead it clearly looked like she had died and I thought that was bullshit. What situation are you taking about? the five kages against Madara or back in Tsunade arc? I still don't get your point. I'm talking about the timeline from the failed Konoha invasion and then sometime during the timeskip when he was made kazekage. It doesn't make sense to me that they wouldn't have a kazekage for that long just to wait for him to grow older so they can control him. My reply was about that timeline. They were in control, not having a Kazekage wouldn't have affected him to their peace treaty and alliance with Konoha and other villages. But getting better should have been one. You know, not dying. Why should it be? he only died because he used all of his remaining Chakara and life force to bring back the dead people in the village. It wasn't stated if he was sick or not before the invasion, if that's what you are getting at. But it was established that he gets skinny and sick after implanting those rods in his body. That's kinda my point. Even though Obito was claiming himself as Madara, the Kyuubi never said "No, that's not him" and we know he remembers Madara's chakra as he commented on the similarity between Sasuke's and Madara's By the time, Kyuubi was a ''good' guy. Everybody already knew that he was a fake Madara. A lot of spelling mistakes. Too lazy to correct them.. e.e |

It is already established that Hidan is a sadist and masochist and that he enjoys savouring his kills and performing his ritual so I don't see how it would be surprising that he does it again with Shikamaru. In general villains wasting time allowing to be defeated by the hero when they could have easily killed them earlier is usually BS but with a character like Hidan it makes sense. |

The second time he reabsorbed Greed, Greed not only retained his consciousness, he somehow was able to nullify Father’s alchemy/regeneration and turn his body into charcoal (or weak carbon), which, for some reason, Father wasn’t able to turn back to flesh, despite the fact that he STILL had THOUSANDS of souls within him. Also, it was stated his body was supposed to be MADE OF Philosopher’s Stones, not contain one like the Homunculi (in other words there’s no part of him, except for his soul, that’s not a Philosopher’s Stone). However, when a hole was punched him him, they are all suddenly seen escaping. When Father punched a hole in Hohenheim (and when he was shot many times in the manga), the souls didn’t escape. Also, how could Father destroy Greed just by biting down on him, especially if he was in such a “weakened” state? #2) Father’s arm was still inside of Ling AFTER he removed all of his Philosopher’s Stone and Greed. How was Ling able to survive being run through if Father removed his Philospher’s Stone? Seems this was done/stretched just for the sake of convenience to the plot. #3) Also, did Ling actually figure out how to gain immortality with the Philosopher’s Stone he took back to Xing? If not, why did he become emperor? And if he didn’t learn how to insert it into himself to make himself immortal while in Amestris, who’s to say the emperor simply wouldn’t have taken it from him to use on himself? In the manga, May said that the emperor is the kind of person who might do that, hence why she didn’t want to take back to him the method of creating the Stone, or the fact that it’s composed of human souls—because he just might actually try to make one to prolong his life. #4) King Bradley constantly keeps his Ultimate Eye covered with an eyepatch. Yet somehow, he is still able to use it to dodge and predict anything and everything. He also removed this patch when fighting Greed/Ling at Central HQ, commenting that, like when he fought Ling before, that it was his “blind spot.” So, he is able to, at least partially, see through what we assume is a completely opaque material (or it could just be inconsistent writing either way—he can use it when covered by his eyepatch, but it’s still somehow his “blind spot?”). However, Buccaneer is able to stab him by thrusting his sword through Fu into Bradley, impaling both of them, commenting that “even with Godlike eyes, there’s no way you can dodge an attack that you can’t see!” A solid, opaque object (Fu) was blocking Buccaneer, just like how Bradley’s eyepatch is a solid, opaque object. Seems like this was done for convenience of the story. -->#4a) A supplement to that: How would Bradley be able to avoid a _hail_ of bullets? Some of the bullets/artillery shells would block from view some of the other bullets/artillery shells, especially when facing a whole platoon or army. Futhermore, when he was still rising up through the ranks as a young man, wouldn’t it be possible that some of the higher caliber bullets could pass through the men nearby/in front of him who were blocking his view and still be able to hit him without him seeing them? He explained to Greed that his Ultimate Eye is the reason he was able to “dodge flying bullets on the battlefield” and rise to his current rank, but situations like the ones just mentioned must have arisen at some point, right? -->#4b) Also, the ONLY thing I can think of to explain that is that his eyepatch appears opaque from the outside, but allows him to at least partially see through it from the inside? Even this is somewhat of a stretch, though, in my opinion. #5) Why do Selim and King Bradley act like father and son even when no one is around or when they think no one is around? They seem to have an inconsistent relationship (sometimes occasionally when no one is around, their roles will switch; Selim is Pride and older than/senior to King Bradley/Wrath). Also, why would Selim drop over and over again to his mother and others around him that he admires/likes/wants to be like the Fullmetal Alchemist all the time? Wouldn’t it be smarter not to do that, as a homunculus? And how come his eyes glaze over and he gets so excited when he meets Alphonse? I don’t think he could be that good of an actor—it’s not all that believable. Neither is his complete personality change from when we think he’s just a normal boy, Selim Bradley, to when we find out he’s actually Pride. It’s just not portrayed/developed well, in my opinion. #6) Why the HELL would Lust think it’s okay to kill both Alphonse and Roy Mustang? NONE of the other homunculi, including Father, EVER try to kill EITHER of them, EVEN when they discover the nationwide transmutation circle, AND stumble across Father’s lair. Even after Lust is killed, they never take it even close to that level by trying to harm or eliminate any of them. Totally inconsistent and ridiculous. Lust is also aware of Father and the other homunculi’s motives and what they are and are not willing to do, and that totally goes against that. She would’ve majorly screwed things up/made things difficult for Father if she had actually killed them, and I’m sure none of the other homunculi would’ve been happy with her if she had done that OR handled it in the way she did. #7) Pride doesn’t seem to be injured in the same way as the other homunculi when fighting Heinkel, and isn’t seen regenerating, but still comments his Philosopher’s Stone has been weakened from fighting him. This is odd and inconsistent. #8) How could Edward know what would happen when he made himself into a Philosopher’s Stone to invade Pride? He could’ve been lost in the torrent of souls or sucked in by Pride; he has no idea what would’ve happened. #9) Is Pride’s “true form” shadows or the small infant seen after Edward defeats him? They’re completely different substances. Selim says he needs a new “container” when his body is breaking down , but what’s left when he is defeated IS a container. Also, Hohenheim remarks that Father made Pride in his image—as a mass of shadows, implying that the SHADOWS may actually be his real body. Hard to make sense of this.. it seems a little inconsistent. #10) Father DOES seem to genuinely care for his “children” at first (except for Greed, whom he only melted down and reabsorbed because he openly rebelled against him and was potentially a big liability). He toasts the rest of the homunculi goodwill after reabsorbing Greed, calls Gluttony “my son” and takes care to recreate him with all of his former powers and memory intact after his Stone runs out, AND seems to confirm by his reaction Hohenheim’s accusation that the REAL reason he expelled his sins and created the Homunculi is because he wanted a family. Yet all of a sudden he abandons Pride, and Edward does convince Pride (or at least gets under his skin about it) that Father doesn’t care about him. This COULD be interpreted as Father simply wanted to take care of business and then return to Pride, or thought Pride could handle himself. Things don’t QUITE add up no matter which way you look at it. ***#11) Scar: this is a big one. So, it’s eventually discovered when he’s fighting King Bradley that before the Promised Day, he tattooed his left arm with his brother’s reconstruction array. So, he uses his right arm to destroy surrounding materials and sever Bradley’s arms, and his left arm to CREATE spikes which rise up from the ground. HOWEVER, it has been stated many, many times throughout the series, the three steps of alchemy are: understanding, deconstruction, and reconstruction. In other words, you have to 1) Know what you’re deconstructing, 2) BREAK IT DOWN, and 3) reconstruct it. That arm ONLY has the array for RECONSTRUCTION on it. Therefore, he shouldn’t be able to transmute ANYTHING without using BOTH of his hands (or perhaps even clapping them together first like Kimblee did to perform his alchemy), to deconstruct and THEN reconstruct it. The only thing I could POSSIBLY see his left arm being able to do (and this is a stretch, since it’s been made very clear you HAVE to go in order with those three steps of alchemy and there haven’t been any other cases of an entire step being skipped in the manga or in Brotherhood) without his right arm is bonding things together, like turning hydrogen and oxygen in the air into water, etc. #12) Mustang—If he couldn’t see, how could he clap his hands and create that barrier from the ground when fighting Father with Hawkeye? He couldn’t see what material, or at least what kind of stone, he was transmuting. It’s possible he just already knew since he’s been in HQ a lot, but not necessarily in that particular area of HQ. Edward couldn’t break Buccaneer’s automail arm when fighting him for the first time near Briggs Fortress because he didn’t know what it was composed of (he thought it was made of iron, but it wasn’t). Also, if I remember correctly there are other times when characters used deconstruction without knowing what they were deconstructing. #13) Sloth didn’t need to be hurt/killed as many times as the other Homunculi, especially Envy/Lust—look how many times they are “killed” vs. the few times Sloth is killed. Yes he suffered massive damage each of those times, but Lust/Envy often had their WHOLE BODY incinerated; one time Mustang even took Lust’s Philosopher’s stone out and it had to regenerate her body from NOTHING, which is equivalent to destroying her ENTIRE BODY once (Sloth never incurred that much damage), and regenerating it once. -->#13a) Note: I admit this MAY be because Sloth is bigger and therefore has much more mass than the other homunculi, therefore takes more energy to regenerate his whole body; still though, that might be a stretch. #14) Why didn’t Edward keep his automail as diamond-hard carbon when fighting Father? It wouldn’ t have been destroyed then, most likely. It seemed to be in this form when fighting Pride in Father’s lair, because he was able to block his attacks. Did he THEN transmute it back afterwards?? Why? Seems like this was done SOLELY so that Alphonse would later transmute his soul to restore his flesh-and-blood arm, when in fact that situation was easily avoidable by Edward. #15) Greed- I think it’s idiotic that Greed doesn’t fully (or even close to fully, really) harden his body when fighting others, especially homunculi. I know he explained that he doesn’t LIKE to because it covers his handsome face, but if that’s the case, WHY would he break it out almost right away when fighting Edward and Izumi, and then NEVER use it again until the VERY end as Greed/Ling (junk like this has been done in other anime series too—a character will go full-out in his first appearance, but then never do that again for the rest of the series, even when his life is in danger; it’s just done to “punch up” the story or something at the expense of inconsistency)? Had he done this, instead of simply only hardening his arms as he usually does, he wouldn’t have been captured and melted down by father, would basically be nearly invincible when fighting (except against alchemists) and could make short work of his opponents, and most importantly, had NO REASON to run away from or be scared of Bradley when he attacked him in his residence and Bradley tried to decapitate him. This is DEFINITELY done for the convenience of the story, in my opinion. No fun having a character that’s too powerful or invincible, so we’ll just make it that he’s too dense to figure out he could win ALL his fights and not get himself into NEARLY as much trouble if he just completely used his powers rather than half-assing it. Total crap. Bradley could never beat him if he fully used his Ultimate Shield, and neither could Pride. Making it so he doesn't utilize it fully most of the time when he easily could only creates forced and artificial tension/drama. #16) The thing with Greed being able to regenerate but Bradley not being able to just isn’t explained well, or at least fully (yeah, you could argue his thing about explaining that after fighting the Philosopher’s Stone when first becoming Wrath he was left with one soul and therefore couldn’t regenerate.. but I don’t buy it. How could he have any powers as a homunculus anyway with just ONE soul, like any ordinary humans? Their super speed/strength/etc. assumedly comes from the stone, which contains a multitude of souls). Although Bradley’s missing ability to regenerate might explain his aging (all the other homunculi who can regenerate don’t age, although not enough time passed to see if Greed/Ling would age), it still seems like this was done for convenience—he’s already hard to kill with his Ultimate Eye, so he would’ve been impossible for the characters to kill if he could regenerate as well. #17) The thing about Hohenheim dying at the end because he ran out of Stone.. I don’t buy it. He should’ve become a normal human if he had only his soul left. Furthermore, Bradley said he was left with only one soul after becoming Wrath, and Hohenheim is very similar to a Homunculus anyway (the structure of his body is identical to Father’s). Bradley didn’t deteriorate into nothing and/or die after this, and neither should Hohenheim have. Maybe my argument is a stretch here, but I still think it’s dumb that he died at the end just because he only had one soul left. #18) Eclipses don’t usually last as long as was depicted; Father should’ve started his transmutation RIGHT before the moon completely covered the sun, not right when it did. By doing that he risked the eclipse ending and the circle surrounding the eclipse dissipating before opening the Sun’s door/gate. #19) Although Alphonse was very upset when he met his body in front of the doors when his soul left his armor body after it was transported to Father’s lair along with Edward, Izumi, and Mustang, because he knew that it was so atrophied and weak that he wouldn’t be able to use it to fight… WHAT could he have traded to get it back??? The body was calling his soul to it, as in the body probably wanted his soul to return to it in the gate/doors. Did Alphonse really think he could just take his body back to Father’s lair without paying a price? This part definitely doesn’t add up. AND Alphonse is an accomplished alchemist who’s even seen the Truth; there’s no way he could be so dumb or ignorant as to not know that he’d have to pay something to get his body back and couldn’t just “take it with him” just because. Makes no sense at all. If anything, trying to unite his body and soul would end with BOTH being trapped in the gate/doors. Although, really, Alphonse probably should have just stayed there, at least for a period of time (if that was an option), without uniting with his body, so that Father wouldn’t have a fifth sacrifice to use. #20) Aren’t Ed, Al, Izumi, Mustang, and Hohenheim supposed to be human _sacrifices_?? They weren’t sacrificed at all; they were fine at the end, and Father even had to try to kill them AFTER the eclipse transmutation was over because they were clearly not dead. What was their role in the transmutation, why were they even required? I think if these were five random Alchemists that the reader was not familiar with OR were just people that the homunculi forced to perform human transmutation who weren’t major characters or important to the plot, Arakawa would’ve written it so that they would’ve died. But obviously no one would want to see five major characters die, so it was, in my opinion, done for convenience of the plot. #21) Mustang should’ve lost his eyes, not just his eyesight, in the human transmutation, just like Judau did in the “Blind Alchemist” side story. This is just straight inconsistency, which in my opinion arose most likely because 1) readers didn’t want to see him without his handsome face, i.e. missing eyeballs & scars around his eyes, 2) the author intended his sight to be restored later (psh, like I never saw that one coming.. he kept his eyeballs to make that easier to happen for God’s sake). You could argue the punishment might’ve been lesser because it was a FORCED human transmutation that was performed against his will, but still—that might be a stretch. I mean he even gained knowledge from the doors/gate in exchange—he could use the clapping transmutation after that, so it was a legit human transmutation. #22) Why would Father and the other homunculi have waited till the last minute to finish up SO much of this stuff? They had over 400 years. If Sloth was even slightly slower in carving the tunnel, it never would’ve worked out. They should’ve gotten on the thing with Ishval and Briggs WAY earlier. Also, letting Mustang roam (relatively) free instead of holding him like they did Marcoh allowed him to rebel and could have cost them dearly. #23) Forcing someone to perform a human transmutation is ridiculous anyway, in my opinion. I think Arakawa might’ve painted herself into a corner with that one (just couldn’t figure out how to make it so Marcoh or Mustang would willingly perform human transmutation, or accidentally developed them so much that it would’ve then been very out-of-character to do that), and used that as an “out.” By the way, one of the sacrifices is going to be a Philosopher’s Stone in human form (Hohenheim)? How do you know that’s even gonna work?? He’s not actually a human anymore. Wouldn’t that screw things up? How do you know if that would even work out? Plus, you think it’s gonna be easy to subdue a human Philosopher’s Stone? Finally, Hohenheim has powers equivalent or near-equivalent to Father; if he HADN’T reached Father’s lair first, or hadn’t come in time, would father actually have been able to use alchemy to transport him there like he did with Ed, Al, Izumi and Mustang? Who’s to say he wouldn’t be able to resist something like that, considering he and Father are identical? AND Father tried to steal his Philosopher’s Stone before the eclipse transmutation? Wouldn’t that kill him and therefore eliminate him for use as a sacrifice? -->#23a) Come to think of it, much of the way Father planned his grand scheme seems rather poorly thought out and could have easily failed. #24) Why did Father return to his original ball-of-shadows form when he was brought before the doors/gate at the end? Hadn’t he said before, when Hohenheim destroyed his body and it was revealed that his shadow form had grown to adult size, that he had evolved beyond that form in the 400 years since he was a ball of shadows in Xerxes? To me this is equivalent to a human infant growing up into an adult in the country of Amestris, then being reduced back to an infant when brought before the doors. #25) I almost decided to let this one go, but alas, here we go: we’ve discovered that Father used the machine in his lair to spread the Philosopher’s Stone in his body throughout Amestris to dampen the effects of alchemy in that country, and to “turn off” alchemy there when needed. However, we’ve also discovered that Philosopher’s Stones usually have a size proportional to how many souls they contain. The number of people in Xerxes when the populace there was transmuted into a Stone was at least one million (AFTER using the stones in his body to perform some alchemy, and setting up his own nationwide transmutation circle, Hohenheim stated that he had a little over 500,000 souls in his body). With all of the people there, Xerxes is much smaller in physical size than Amestris. So, would half of the souls in Xerxes really be enough to completely cover the ground in Amestris (or really under the ground, but you know what I mean)? ***#26) Long-distance transmutation- ah, this is a big one, and one of my favorite (or least favorite) plot holes in the manga and Brotherhood. It’s said that alchemy is incapable of long-distance transmutation, while alkahestry (also known as "rentanjutsu") is. The long-distance transmutation is done by drawing a transmutation array on the ground, putting knives in each of the points of the array, reading the “dragon’s pulse” to understand where the flow of chi in the Earth lies and in what direction(s) it’s flowing, throwing ANOTHER set of knives at a distant object in the same formation as the original set of knives, and then transmuting. HOWEVER, there have also been instances of somewhat long-distance alchemy transmutation in the manga. Kimblee is seen doing it when he kills Scar’s family. Edward is seen doing it when chasing after Paninya in the mountainous area of Rush Valley (this is the most obvious example, ESPECIALLY in Brotherhood). And there are many other instances of that happening throughout the series; an alchemist is able to transmute a distant object or set of objects, often by letting the alchemic energy they’re using flow through the ground, or a nearby wall or path. Yet the Elrics are very surprised when they see May do her long distance transmutation, when they themselves are capable of similar or near-similar feats. I just don’t think this was thought out very well by Arakawa beforehand, or she slipped up and wrote some inconsistencies without thinking about it, because I’m still not entirely sure of the difference between long-distance alkahestry transmutation and just transmuting a not-so-nearby object using alchemy. *A lot of plot points, including the ones above, seem to arise from dumb luck, and involve poor planning/leaving things to chance on the part of several characters, and it often seems like the author didn’t think it all the way through. AND it seems like a lot of the inconsistencies also arise from, as mentioned before in some places, for the sake of CONVENIENCE to the story. Things like that really cheapen it, in my opinion. here's another one for Brotherhood When Edward receives his arm from beyond the Gate (due to Alphonse's sacrifice), it's in excellent condition even though it was trapped in another dimension for 4 years with little nourishment. Why is it that while Al's body atrophied over the years, Ed's was in good enough shape to beat up Father? |

It was implied that Ed was eating enough for both them, of course it's easier to supply his arm with nutrition than it is a whole person. I believe someone said the manga actually confirmed it. |

How is that a plothole or bs moment? It is already established that Hidan is a sadist and masochist and that he enjoys savouring his kills and performing his ritual so I don't see how it would be surprising that he does it again with Shikamaru. In general villains wasting time allowing to be defeated by the hero when they could have easily killed them earlier is usually BS but with a character like Hidan it makes sense. because of the "villain is a sadist and masochist and that he enjoys savouring his kills" cliche. and no. Yeah, there are few exceptions but this clearly isn't one. Why? If he's really a sado/masochist he'd not have stabbed himself once in the chest, but rather take it slow. |
