| Honestly not sure what to expect. The designs were really bland. The action scenes were really fun. The music was meh. The choreography of the music was kriffing amazing. It had nothing like the first Macross's falling through the clouds scene. Hope for improvement. |

| Now that's more like it. This got me back into that SDF groove after Plus and Zero failed to capture the original's charm. Hope it keeps up. Thought Alto was going to be some douche, but I'm really liking him so far. The ponytail is a pretty fresh design choice and the fact that he's teased for being feminine makes him rather relatable. Ranka is cute. Not much to say about her yet, but that'll do. Also, is that seriously the eyecatch? Because it's my favorite thing ever as of right now. |

| Pretty good CG animation for a 2008 series, gotta love that Nyan commercial by Ranko, looks like Sheryl's gonna be an unlikable bitch MC huh hope I'm wrong on this one. For a first timer of this franchise I hope I had a fun time on this one |

| Wow...Satelight sure likes to make their opening episodes flashy... And for those who wonder why they call him "Princess Alto", they mentioned that he used to do Kabuki acting with his family. In Kabuki, males play the role of females during the performance, which is possibly the reason why they constantly refer to Alto as a girl. And I'm assuming that he doesn't cut his hair because of the scolding he will get from his parents. Poor Alto... I'm also pretty surprised that they were able to make an homage to each series in the past: Nyan-Nyan - The name of the Minmay restaurant in SDF Macross. Sheryl Nome - Possibly a reference to the lead females in Macross Zero. The Concert - Definitely gives vibes from Macross Plus. "Listen to My Song!" - What Basara says right before he starts singing in Macross 7. Basara was awesome, but he was a bit too much. Sheryl's a bitch...Macross Frontier is gonna be fun... |

| I think "Yack deculture" edition of this episode is the most complete one (though there're differences in ED songs and all that). In any case, awesome, I really loved the first episode (or rather its 3 versions xD). |

| Available for the first time in legal English subtitles with commentary from Aya Endou (Sheryl Nome speaking voice) and Megumi Toyoguchi (Klan Klang voice) I can't wait for the Blu-ray to come out. It is great to see this series again. |
