He was able to kill him (I'm sure Thatch put up a fight than an undetected assassination), and all the Commander's are stronger than Luffy pre-timeskip. If Blackbeard didn't NEED that fruit to accomplish his ambitions, he wouldn't have killed a comrade to get it (let alone a Whitebeard pirate), and that is why I initially said I think he's much weaker than he seems. Really there's no sense arguing about him in the past, all that matters is him now. I'm sure he's become some badass guy now, though I don't see where he would have grown much stronger than Luffy, otherwise the 2 year training would have been kind of pointless. Mostly I was just saying Blackbeard's biggest strengths are his intelligence and his Devil Fruit. I'm not saying there's lots of people who are able to beat him, possibly only Shanks could easily beat him one-on-one. There's also the fact that Blackbeard agreed that he couldn't have invaded Impel Down without Luffy. Also is the fact that Blackbeard didn't stand a chance against Magellan even with his entire crew, and he's got a huge advantage against Devil Fruit users. But, I'm sure Luffy will ignore this fact anyway, and be like "NO Zoro / Sanji / Usopp / Franky / Nami and co.! Dis is for mah bro!", but that's beside the point. But still it's pointless to argue something we can never truly prove. Unless he says he's weaker or someone else says he's stronger than them. Blackbeard also has the fact that he's not afraid to do anything at all to get what he wants, so he's definitely going to go places. In my personal opinion I think Blackbeard will/should be the first or only person Luffy kills. |
