Waaaaaaah, a commercial product that exists in order to make money and increase profits was exceptionally successful and made a lot of said money, and now they're (possibly) making more of it in order to make more money, waaaaaaaaah.

Some of you need a serious reality check.

Dude, I'm not against making money.....but:

Madoka is OVER, I think the majority of fans would agree that a sequel or spinoff is unnecessary and it's pointless milking.

I'm NOT saying a sequel or spinoff or remake is a BAD thing (Although it COULD turn out to be bad)....I'm just saying it's unnecessary.

You'd be proven incredibly wrong once the sales numbers came out.

No, I wouldn't.......the fact that people continue to buy into the series doesn't mean that I'm wrong to think that this is indeed pointless milking.

When K-ON! announced their movie there was A LOT OF HATE towards it.....and unlike Madoka, at least K-ON is NOT over.

Let me ask you a serious question:

What is the point of making a movie for a series that is OVER?

You're the only one assuming the series is OVER. Did ANYONE behind Madoka's producing ever claimed the series was over? As I said, you're assuming it's over without anything to back yourself up.

It wasn't written 'THE END NO SEQUELS' at the end of episode 12, for fuck's sake.

OF COURSE I assume the series is over, at the end of ep. 12 I think EVERYONE assumed the series is over!

To believe that it's NOT over just because they never said there wouldn't be sequels is quite asinine.

And assuming it is over isn't being foolish? Since when are you everyone?

The ending left so much room for a real ending, so maybe the movie is actually that.

^Here, notice that very few if anyone is talking about wanting more or if there should be a sequel....

The majority accept it as an ENDING and do not expect anymore....that is what I mean when I say that "everyone" assumed the series is over.

If the producers want to milk the series....then go right ahead.

I really hope they avoid a sequel considering how hard it would be to perfect what was Madoka. I could accept it if they do a retelling of the anime in 2 hours or if they have the story happening in one of the alt time lines that Homura went through.

It's not over, Urobuchi stated he was working on the next installment of Madoka whatever it is, be it a new season, OVA, or a movie (if the news for movie is true of course).

I'm welcoming anything new from Shaft / Urobuchi / Shinbo as long as Yuki is doing the music. ;__;

So far it's a 50/50 chance. Until we get the December issue of a magazine, which comes in like 3 days apparently.
All we can do now is hope. Because Madokami said so.

Bleach is my favorite anime, I make that pretty clear, but even I know that Madoka is vastly superior.

The Bleach anime only follows the manga, as long as the manga keeps going so does the anime, therefore the anime is not milking anything, it's the manga that's doing the milking, but whatever.

The main point is that Madoka ended, the final episode was conclusive, there is no point in having a sequel.

Yeah, I guess you're right, the Bleach movies are a form of milking as well.

Alright then, Madoka is also milking, I never said I was against it, although I don't believe a sequel is necessary to a series that properly ended.

lol, you probably don't want my opinion on Evangelion, I consider the whole Evangelion series to be the most overrated thing in Japan and I gave the series a 1/10.

Anyways, I loved the Madoka anime, I really don't know whether I should be excited or not about this movie.

A part of me feels this could be a bad thing, but another part of me is excited to see more Madoka.

I only used Evangelion as an example because it had a movie to complete its ending.

I find myself rather neutral to the entire series. I can say that it had a satisfying ending, yet at the same time I can easily see a continuation of some sort. So, a movie depicting a recap with some new material, or a "sequel" would be fine by me.

Please don't believe unconfirmed information.

1. In the previous issue of Newtype, they did announced "a big project in the next issue" but they didn't specify if it's Nanoha or Madoka.
2. HMV_anime's tweet was just a basis-less private speculation. It's not reliable at all.
3. There is no convincing fact in the analyses of the scanned image by the fans.

Confusing people by providing unofficial information is not what a newsman supposed to do. This is a news discussion board, not a random discussion board like sankaku.

Making a Madoka movie is like playing a game of "Catch" with a Faberge Egg.

I love the series, I really do. But the end is complete - Madoka made a sacrifice that echos to the beginning of magical girls. There never has been, nor will there ever be, magical girls who have suffered, despaired and thus become witches.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica is perfect from beginning to end. It's iconic and shouldn't be changed, revised, added to or taken away from.

That's all I have to say about that.

I think it's more likely to be Nanoha since their 2nd movie A's is coming out next year and we haven't heard much of it yet. Crossing my fingers though.

Anyway, it's always great to have a Madoka movie to me, and I really do hope that Urobuchi-sensei gets this done well.

how can it hurt the original? If it ends up being horrible then just dont credit it as being an actual part and never watch it again, simple as that. If it is good then thats awesome cause more madoka! Madoka is my 2nd favorite anime of all time, and Im not worried of this ruining it for me, because that was an unforgettable experience and no way could a movie ever take it away from me. Im excited because I think it has potential :)

Even with the sales, we can't just expect a movie to pop out like that. Whether this announcement is fake or real.
Urobuchi is planning something for Madoka that's all we know.

Though in episode 12 it has been noted that Sayaka went through the ''cycle'' of Puella Magis. Low chance of her showing up if this movie is more a sequel.

I do agree it will be hard to top the TV series. Despite the exceptional quality of the shows this year (Steins Gate, AnoHana, Fate/Zero...), all which would have easily been anime of the year in previous years, I still find none of them gave me the thrill that Madoka did.
