On topic:
This is quite surprising. The only thing I heard about Dog Days was that it was popcorn fodder, and when I watched the first episode I found it incredibly generic.

Off topic:
Reading through this thread was well worth it, just to see the conversation devolve into Moe vs. Anti-moe comments. The funny part about it was that the moe supporters were the first ones to call it that and would go on to make cheap shots at the people who don't like it.

I like moe but Dog Days was terrible. I'd rather have a second season for Softenni...at least that was funny.

Don't know why there's so much hate on that great series in here, but I guess this is a really good example on how much opinions can diverge from one another.

Personally I love the series and am eagerly looking forward to the second season. I mean this show obviously is aiming to be simply fun. The only other current shows with that goal are all in the slice of life category with very stereotypical characters and plots and often inexperienced seyū that can get quite annoying over time for experienced ears. In contrast to that Dog Days has some of the best special moves in in fights I've ever seen (exorcism scene FTW!) and an extremely well formed cast. Furthermore the second half of the first season suggests there is much more potential of the story and characters to develop in other, more deeper ways.

Looking forward to it and would guess, we can count on the second season to be aired during the next spring or summer season.

Can't you get that you have no idea what you're talking about and your opinion is irrelevant to whether a sequel gets made? =D

I couldn't bring myself to finish the first season so... I'll be giving this a miss.
I must admit that the only reason why I started it in the first place was because of Miyano Mamoru, but his voice didn't even really suit his character. Anyway, it's not my type of anime so I'm just gonna pass.

Funny thing is, I was just comparing this anime, Dog Days, to a new anime... and then I see that it's getting a new season.

I'm going to watch it. I found that the first season was at least entertaining, not terribly bad, but not good either. I really should've expected this- the ending for Dog Days was leading onto it. XD

And I was dreaming about a sequel of this a long time ago. Damn I'm such an oracle. I'll just have to wait if Becky and Nanami are going to their world too so I can confirm it.

I hope Nanami will be on Galette's side this time XDD Cinque will have his match XDD

And moar demons pls... They didn't really explore their country in the first season. Just some sports festival XD

First Season wasn't that great but if this season turns into a harem I'll drop it after the first ep. I don't really like Harems much. If not then I don't mind watching more Milhi and the MC in action.

Wouldn't worry about that. Romance is an aspect of the show, but it's a pretty minor one, and I think they've already strongly established Millhi as Cinque's interest, and he, hers. The only other source of romance is Eclair, and it's obvious they're not going that route with her - she's a comrade-in-arms, not a lover.

Rebecca might come with Cinque back to Doggy Land though, and she'll likely become jealous of Millhi and see her as a competitor. I'm hoping for that, at least.

That what's needed in the series Becky coming with Cinque maybe Eclair can teach her to fight or something that or just create some good old romantic tension.

why do people complain when an anime they don't like gets a second series? I sort of understand the "there are so many better anime that could've gotten a second series" (even though those comments annoy me) but when people say things like "NOOO THAT ANIME SUCKED" they sound like they're being forced to watch it and lol, you're not.
Calm your tits.

Anywayyy I'm looking forward to this, I enjoyed the first series immensely and though I was happy with how it ended I think it did leave itself open to a second series.

MAL rankings don't mean much.

still has no meaning, the series is popular in Japan

I disagree

Have you seen the sales, every vol hits the charts. The music also hit the charts for at least 1 week.

I will have to agree with you MAL ratings don't matter much to me when deciding to watch an anime but this show was boring I watched the first 2 episodes then dropped it. I mean c'mon an anime where no one gets hurt... not my cup of tea

- 7 isn't a bad rating.
- If something needs to be popular for you to watch, quit watching anime
- This and Asobi ni Iku yo have nothing to do with each other, though Asobi was a good anime too.

The fact that it was made by the guy who created the Nanoha franchise is enough reason to not be surprised about a 2nd season. Nanoha isn't as big here, but in Japan you can't get a Megami or Nyantype magazine that doesn't have Nanoha articles and posters, even when its not airing. Its quite a big franchise there and people hungry for more like it will buy Dog Days up.

More fan service in this season with nipples as details? Well maybe not because that was not really the case with some shows like KissxSis where no details like that were in despite the heavy ecchi.

The manga suggest that possibility. Just ask Hoppy with his 2 books. It certainly is far more filled than the first season of it. Which means more ecchi this coming season.

I still want to see Becky in action and go to that new world.

Not necessarily. I expect the anime to stay very much on the light, fairly innocent, and unobtrusive side of fanservice just like season one. Can't really use other media as a guide to how the anime will turn out.

True especially since the one with all the ecchi is a side story.

OK so at least that could be a OVA but there has been too many cases that the second season of many anime shows got ecchier.

This being said I wanted to express that the possibility is there, especially for the praising it got in first season of its ecchi. That's all.
