I gave it three stars solely out of respect for the team’s effort, though it’s evident they lack the skill and vision required to adapt a work of such magnitude. This episode, while visually pleasant in a few isolated moments — many of which seem directly lifted and colored from the manga — suffers from extremely poor animation quality. Several scenes appear rushed, with key action moments from the source material awkwardly cut, likely due to technical limitations.

The few “miraculous” moments of solid animation could be rated around a C+, but overall, it’s impossible to remain emotionally invested in the series. This adaptation disrespects the monumental legacy of One Punch Man. After years of anticipation and so much progress in animation technology, what we received instead provokes nothing but frustration and disappointment.

What’s on screen feels technically amateurish — fan-made animations from years ago on YouTube easily surpass this episode tenfold. I’m done. I refuse to watch any more episodes from this season, which has done nothing but tarnish the reputation of one of the most iconic anime franchises ever made.

Did they forget that they had to create an anime and not a manga ?

The scenes had no transitions whatsoever in between them

I felt like watching some sort of scenes independently created and just sewed together.
Also the "clean" digital look is really starting to hurt my eyes, looks like a generic webtoon with thick lines

When Garou liberate himself it's literally 3 frames then 3 frames.
Also the person choosing colors need to be fired, this neon stuff

Garou and Orochi's moment isn't too bad from a plot perspective, and I thought the animation was average but not as bad as previously? Well it's still like a 5/10 episode in terms of adaptation but it's better than a total waste lol, I kinda want to see what's next now.

Absolute trash. But think i understand what they're doing now, they're gonna get though all the more boring fights and setup and leave the good stuff like genos+tatsumaki, golden, garou vs saitama for next season.

Either that or they've completely given up on this title.

Man people here being negative for no reason. Seriously man, I frankly don’t give a fuck about commenting on episode threads, but seeing you all calling this episode worse than episode three made me do it.

It means you are either Nicholas light fans or haters. like seriously !? Are you sure you are saying this unironically ? Man learn to be satisfied.

I agree some scenes had pretty inconsistent character designs. But what do you expect from a bad production ? Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen ? And this still seemed pretty much better than last episodes.
@Zolo_124 So once we know something has bad production then we can't complain? Lol get those JC balls out of your mouth and format your brain bro.

I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say no one enjoys waiting 2+ years for a sequel, however I'd rather 4 if it guarantees quality production values. This is truly demoralizing to behold more so for the fact that when TBATE was getting dogged for similar reasons never in my wildest imaginations did I ever think OPM S3 would be in the same position and judging on IP cred top the disastrous showing of TBATE, scary times these.

It is disrespectful to present an episode with that quality. The animation is lazy, and the background consists only of different colors to disguise the errors. The fights are images representing the action. This episode is the worst animated episode of this season.

My god these events, How strong is Garou now😱

BUT I'm disappointed with the animation too many rough cuts in the episode and sometimes it feels unfinished

OPM deserves way better

Push it to the limit...and Garou keeps growing. He's seriously such a captivating character.

Episode was so entertaining again that it felt like 5 min.

the one guy who said they locked in on this episode may need to get off twitter till the end of the day bc holy.... i mean they had ONE SECTION that an ok animation, but claiming it's better and "the people really began to try at the studio " is blatantly wrong. by comparison, the gacha anime (not cinderela gray, but the protag with gacha powers) is somehow animated better than the multi million dollar anime. not to mention the fact that they "can mess it up" a good example of this is konosuba, who went their way with most of the staff the same as before, and the animation got changed not become worse by the time the season ended, so it's not the Studio 's fault by this metric. i want to like this, but at this point it became just hate watching.

Terrible ep

New fit for Garou ig.

Tareo so damn annoying I swear, rich kid literally sold u to die and bro talm bout go back and save him.

Sum nice drawings.

Who tf is making this color choices to ruin every good panel, shit is straight ass? C'mon staff, we are not at a disco party.

Wish Vann Oba didn't hype it that much, but ig his sequence was fine.

So man problems were seen in this ep. For such a decisive ep that needed the resources, it definitely wasn't capitalized enough. Tho, the production is absolutely cooked and it hurts my soul to say that this is worse than s2. Why did lvl 9999 have to be adapted now, jc should have capitalized on OPM bc of it's bigger ip. 9999 shouldn't have gotten the action production line. (even tho i'm enjoying it). Man this animation is abysmal, despite the animators trying their best to put out their all, despite this terrible schedule given my Bandai. I will never forgive Bandai for this terrible management.

This really had the potential to be the best ep for this opm szn. Idk why the rover fight was slightly better than the orochi fight, which is silly to think. But, it's true.

I'm gonna drop this. They even removed sum important stuff to the plot, which I won't type here. Pacing was kinda fast for no reason and while I predicted that the Garou vs Orochi fight could be finished this ep, i didn't think it would be this bad. Tho, Imma watch clips of the next eps since their's no reason to expected something good, plus the content of the next ep is meh.

This ep adapted the rest of ch "Because I'm a Monster", and finished "Rover/Pochi", and "Manhole".

5/10

DROP DROP DROP DROP!

I will not tolerate this any longer. One Punch Man Season 3 is a holy disappointment. Season 2’s animation was never this broken, it was at least bearable. But this? This is a visual tragedy. Madhouse walked so this could crawl.

The second one actually reminded me of S1, shame they were just still frames.

The anime is kinda stylish, the problem is the movement. And yah, thought the same when i saw that.

Still, very disapointed with this season. And people complained about S2 lol S2 was Demon Slayer level Animation compared to this. I went in with open mind and hopes, but damn.... Still im enjoying, but each minute im like "This looks so bad".

The animation isn't that bad. What's worse is the overall composition of the fights, including the cut scenes from the manga and the stage arrangements.

For some reason I don't see these people anymore. I wonder where did they go? At this point, I'm split between dropping and watching the remaining basically half of the season just out of sheer curiousity of what could possibly go even more wrong.

Hopefully this is the last season, unless by some god damn miracle, it could get a proper producer and production team and actually make this good.

50% shit animation
50% shit writing

100% shit episode

Despite all the other shit in this episode, the low point for me was when Garou was afraid of the monster dog and told the kid they have to carefully retreat. WTF. Totally out of character.

Say what you want about the direction, animation, or storyboarding, but compared to last week, this was a genuinely strong episode. Regardless of how uneven this season has been, ONE and Murata’s groundwork is so good that it’s almost impossible for episodes like this not to land.

One thing that stood out right away: the decision to skip the opening. Up until last week, it felt like the adaptation was holding back, as if it didn’t want to move forward. But here, we finally see Garou pushing past every limit, start to finish. It’s almost like a training arc, except it’s brutal and destructive.

On the direction side, I appreciated some of the stylistic touches. For example, Orochi’s transformation shown in that stark black-and-white cut, or the way Garou’s movement is emphasized when he accelerates to escape. They might sound minor when described, but those small choices actually got me hyped. They reminded me of that Beethoven episode from DanDaDan s2, which I think is just excellent work.

I just wish they had cut down some of the Saitama scenes. Maybe they didn’t want to remove too much from the manga, but it felt like they were repeating the joke to the point where it almost looked like they had added new scenes just to run it again.
Dubious and honest analysis from neonerd.

Bandai is currently destroying my favourite fighting video game franchise and favorite anime franchise. Expressing how I feel about them would get me in trouble.

There is so much potential in this arc. The animation and story feels disjointed and doesn’t flow. Those who have read the manga will struggle to watch this season even more than those that have not.

I don’t expect the same quality as the first season for the exception that it is, although if it were even half of the first, that would be plenty. Sadly, it’s not there.

absolutely dogshit. i saw some people glazing the pv images that dropped a few days ago, but that turned out lame. then i saw some people meming how they'll make the ''it's hunting time'' panel to be all colorful with disco lights, and it turned out to be true lmaoo it's hilariously bad how they butchered it. and garou running looked like a child.

This season is fucked. It's not even a lack of animation anymore, there is animation but it still looks terrible and flows terribly. The transitions are actually shameful, the art is bad so many inconsistencies too and we got 2 more garou slides this episode XDD

Episode 2 had Garou slide and we memed that, this shit has TWO garou slides in 1 episode now thats something to marvel at. I am so done coping XD

I'm expecting some "Episode 7 will be the big episode" comments XD
