Non anime shows also have amazing results with blending those two like Arcane, Blue Eye Samurai, Spiderman across the spiderverse, The Wild Robot etc. Anime usually use cheap 3D for practicality but when they put money, time and toughts behind it it comes out good. Animation is a large medium and 3D should not stray you away from discovering new shows.

@DigiCat I don't care if people lose their means of living if automation can do their jobs or do it a better rates. Were you crying when toothpaste machines put the caps on toothpaste and replaced the factory workers who did this? No you weren't you value animators above every other job that's getting removed by automation and ai. @Wombles I generally don't like to use insults in arguments, but your one of the stupidest and naivest kid I've spoken to one this site. 'what's the difference between reducing work load and reducing work force' - take a fucking guess. Animators work on average 60hr weeks, usually more on bigger projects. Have you just not heard about the current work conditions in Japan?? AI cannot, at least for the foreseeable future, do there jobs completely, which is why im saying it should be used for background art, allowing animators to have a normal workload.

It makes sense to let automation do the jobs it's better than humans are at, not so much to let them do a job they suck at, same way you wouldn't hire a human firefighter to be a doctor, would you? NO, because he'd have zero idea how to do that job

A robot can screw on toothpaste caps no problem, but a robot can't draw characters that are expressive

A robot can search thru illegal content on the internet without getting traumatized, but a robot can't write a scripts with an once of depth in it

And regardless of the debate what should be left in robot hands and what in human hands, cheering that people might loose their jobs is sickenning

@piroriparopirira I've tried a few 3D anime shows. I dunno, but they always look very much wrong. I concede that Arcane and Spiderverse are both beautiful and stunning, but they're also not anime.

I've always thought Land of the Lustrous looked horrible — I don't get why people glaze its visuals so much.

I do like how the other ones in your message look though. What are they called? The third one reminds me of Fate and the last one looks familiar...

@piroriparopirira those three are garbage, only good by western starndads, and those are very low, just at a mediocre show like avatar is praised.

@Jhearn16 if ai can't do there jobs completely why are we just making them do background art? Also in this anime they're using ai for more than just background art so they can do there jobs completely we just need to see how it'll pan out and I'm sure animators would rather have 0 hour work weeks then 60 hour work weeks people don't die from 0 hour work weeks yk. Also for you saying you don't use insults often you've insulted me in every reply you've sent just another example of the empathetic left.

Also your analogy is terrible, comparing ai which can do assignments, check content, write stories and make music to firefighters is not only reductive its just silly. Maybe if by firefighter you meant a firefighter who was also qualified as a docter doing a docters job it would be more accurate. Also who's to say ai sucks at doing art doesn't it fool the general populace and if so that's enough. Next they'll fool most anime fans then a bit later anime fans will question all anime using ai art and it wouldnt then matter if they did as it would be silly not to.

@piroriparopirira i cant, i havent seen a western animation series or movie in years, only glimpses of them and what little i have seen of arcane and the other one, didnt impress me, and even if it was good, to me part of the charm of anime is the beautiful 2D animation, no matter how good a 3D movie is an equally good 2D anime is far better in my opinion

As for friends, i don't know what you look like, but somehow i doubt that plays a major factor (if any at all) in not having friends, sure some people can be mean, but given your view on relationships and that with your parents, it seems more likely it's your attitude towards relationships that might push people away

I never wanted to wish for a project to fail financially, but I think this has reached that point. Might as well be considered the beginning of the end for the anime industry, but who the hell knows. That said, I'm not interested.
