One. With a little bit of 2nd volume in the end, so that they could make the ending "and the adventure continues", instead of everybody doing a big "what?! not again!" at Rolonia saying she's a Brave, as in the LN.

Where did you guys take those sales from? I smell bullshit.

Rokka No Yuusha reached TOP 20 MOST SOLD LNs of the week in July with 7.2k sales in 1 week alone.

Are you telling me that with the anime it couldn't even reach 1-2k? lmaooooo

20. *7,240 **7,240 Rokka no Yuusha Vol.6

7.2K sales in 1 week.

So I don't know which source may be correct.

Where did you get this from? Those numbers are great, no?

That's the LN's current last volume's sale. It sold 12k + before disappearing from the chart, which is better than before the anime (7k at best before disappearing). But no LN volume that was already out for a while resurfaced during the anime. The oonly reason we got one week with RnY in the ranking was because of a new volume.

The BD volume 1 sold 550. And the DVD sold so low that we don't even have the score.

A LN volume is 600 yen. A BD volume is 7000 yen. You can't compare the two.

In the LN series ranking it sold 44k in July and 35k in August,total 80k, not so much compare to Overlord's 349k or GATE's 176k, but enough to double Kuusen or Shimoneta

It's weird that people checked out the new LN volume but did not pick up previous ones, especially Volumes 2 and 1, after the anime.

Unless those were all sales from people who were already fans :/ But yeah, I can't believe that volumes 1 and 2 didn't jump in sales. Except it seems that now what's popular in Japan is mainly harem, ecchi, and moe...

Yeah, I think it is a combination of these two reasons.

It's really sad, you guys. I hardly get into anime and I have so many otaku friends who want me to connect to at least one show, and finally, Rokka was that show. I was so delighted that I found an anime show that is so wonderfully fun and interesting at the same time.

And now this happens. :'(

I'm actually praying for a season 2. Not a lot of anime tend to be good each season, since they all tend to be overly hyped harem anime's. But this was definitely an exception.

Yeah, volume 2 is better then 1.
It's gonna be amazing to see that one animated.

But again, that volume would strafe from the moe harem norm, like the first one. I wonder if people can appreciate a well thought out story and a MILF in the spotlights.
And even seeing more of an "ugly" female character (Rolonia isn't per say ugly, just not pretty.). Which might people revolt from watching.

I actually think Rolonia is pretty cute looking in an unconventional way. The main reason why I loved Rokka so much is that it subverted so many anime expectations and norms, not just in terms of genre, but also character tropes.

The protagonist initially came across as a blowhard but then it turns out he is just really trying to prove himself, which is why he overcompensates. But that doesn't mean he is utterly useless either. Pretty realistic.

The hime turned out to be the villain, and she actually used all the expectations people have of a hime character to manipulate perceptions and to be constantly underestimated.

The boy thirsting for the hime was actually that. Naive and blind.

A MILF is a kickass warrior lady and apparently the second LN will focus more on her.

The brat is overpowered but she is still a brat and acts like her natural age.

The tsundere is much more fleshed out and grounded than typical tsundere characters and her emotionality and isolationist behavior have well-reasoned and touching explanations.

And no words needed to explain why Hans is cool.

Fremy... is... not... a... tsundere...

She's a kuudere.

Again. Fremy is not a tsundere.

Not a tsundere.

Kuudere.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I do like the Rolonia character design though. It feels kinda frsh to have a not-pretty character in the roster.
I think it's pretty sad and hurtful for a character if you can just summarize her with a single word.
I loved her character by the way.
Adlet was my favourite character by far though - I absolutely loved his fighting style and general approach to life.
Seeing people here saying 2nd LN is a lot better than 1st makes me really depressed since I'm pretty sure 2nd season won't happen. I'm hoping it will though.
I'm really surprised that the LN aren't selling. I can be pretty judgmental and nit-picky but I honestly think that LN are awesome. Is it advertising or is it really just that people haven't been enjoying it? I remember that at one point volume four made it into the rankings, I can't remember where it was though.
I think people just got tired of the round and round cycle of the 7th and I can't blame them. Having read 4 volumes, I can honestly say that volume 2 atleast was unnecessary. Big deal Mora got development, but the story got nowhere and had I been reading them with release, I'd have definitely dropped the novel here. Vol 3 onwards things are good though if a bit tiring still.
Fuck you man, Vol 2 had a strong emotional impact to me when I first read it.
Look at the top10. Apart from Kekkai Sensen, majority is harem/ecchi/moe shows that Japan just loves to buy.
Is that really what's popular now? :/ Damn it, that really sucks. Not just for this show, but also because I'm worried that that'll make studios more and more inclined to focus on those genres instead of shows with real plot, character development, etc. Not hating on those genres for those who like them, but yeah...
Anyway, Rokka deserves better than this
Yeah. Once again, Japan is proven to have shit taste.
Good thing it isn't a summarization then, but a characteristic.
People are saying she is a mean hot head, who turns out as a gentle/loving person.
I'm just saying that they are wrong. That Fremy doesn't have that trait.
A popular novel in the West should sell about 100,000 copies over its life time. From what I heard, the same applies to manga. That being said, I have no idea how many should LN sell to make it a huge success, since obviously the Americans are very avid readers compared to pretty much everyone else in the world.
There is also a Rokka no Yuusha manga, which I guess is somewhat half-baked and mostly ignored.
Anime of the year IMO.
Would really like to see a s2, fingers crossed.
But hey, incest harem anime with useless protag, protected by females will always sell better than well thought action/mystery anime.
The Japanese have shit taste.
Period.
harem and ecchi are a cancer to whole planet
Unfortunately niche anime sells really well to otaku NEETS. They're a reliable and dedicated minority, and that's why they are pandered to so much.
Really, really, hope a season 2 comes out.
One shouldn't assume all (or most) of the otaku are NEETs. Quite a lot of them do work. Work earns them money, which they can spend on anime goodies. Gate's MC is a good example.
I'd say hikkikomori or NEETs are a lot rarer than otaku.
I think the lack of popularity in japan is because of the late night airing time.maybe it's not like jap doesn't like it,they don't even know it in the first place. If rokka was shown on prime time like aslan,it'd be a hit
I have read this thread pretty well and it seems there is no knews but I figured I would bump it instead of making a new thread.
Any news of a possible a second season up coming? I was really looking forward to the actual battle with the Demon God but this series was pretty well done a bit rushed towards the end but I like and am looking forward to a second season.
you know the demon god is the final goal. Even if you were to get a second series, you would only get to encounter Tgurneu, which is the first of the 3 Kyouma commanders encountered (the kyouma that came to Adlet's village as well as the one we see in the ending scene closing his book). Even in the novel we still haven't reached the demon god.
And no it wasn't rushed. At all. They adapted one volume in 12 episodes. Can't be less rushed than that.
That aside, no, no news.
It's Rokka no Sales for a reason :s Odds of a 2nd season doesn't seem likely at all, so your best bet would be reading the LN.
My apologies I know nothing of the LN info, simply stumbled upon the anime and was hooked. I hadn't realized how many volumes of the LN were out. Or how long the story actually is.
I didn't mean anything serious about the rushed comment. That's just how the last 3 episodes came off to me. Still a good watch and I will continue hope for more. I guess I'll look into getting the LN to finish it off then with no news of a second series.
A second season is unlikely. Light novel sales are pretty poor even with the boost from the anime. In addition the series isn't very popular in Japan.
