You should try reading the next chapters of Tate no Yuusha. I actually did feel it was totally unnatural the treatment he was receiving at first but it is answered and you realize what was behind it all. It still feels it was a little-forced though. Nonetheless, in the world of the typical cliche "travel to another world" thing, it's good to see when the story doesn't go well for the MC and he is not just some overpowered cheater from start. In the case of the pain, of course, he would be remembering what happened to him since the entire country was against him from start. Anyways, not saying you are wrong, but you could give a chance to read the next chapters so you can make a better conclusion in your review.

@AugmentedTurnip
Like the other anime e-celeb said, Gigguk, hating SAO is turning into a dead meme now after years of it fueling popularity for anime critics on Youtube.

Just thought I'd take this to here instead of clogging the club comments with Digibro discussions too much.

His regular videos I'm certainly not a fan of. His vlogs, strangely enough I find pretty entertaining where he essentially just drunkenly rambles. But his other ones, and especially his clickbait SAO videos. Well I mean I guess hes got to make ends meet. And if he honestly tries to gleam some sort of value out of 3x3 threads I feel bad for him. Those threads are always shitpost central.

As for his K-On stuff. I don't know. Although he's certainly not going against the grain like he tries to posture when he says it's his favorite. That show was a pretty big deal when it came out. But I guess he's got the right to like whatever he wants. Though my opinion on slice of life has soured alot in recent years. It's kind of a waste of the medium of animation to just animate school girls sitting at their desks talking. And when I say slice of life I'm not referring to the WMT stuff. I mean the many, many bastard children that Azumanga Daioh unfortunately spawned. Every studio looking to sell out are trying to capture that magic, right down to the melancholic graduation episode. Then it just becomes slice of shlock with candy colored underaged girls.

I liked your review of Gate. I didn't read the manga, only watched the anime, it was a suffering to shove down my throat.

That sounds more like the adaptions I read. They were faithful, but way too rushed (you just can't write a whole novel in one manga volume) and a bit too shoujo-esque (especially on character design).
Akai_Shuichi Nov 3, 2015 10:41 AM
Actually, I didn't even know there's a Rainbow Valley adaption, which I just checked and was made by a different author than the Green Gables, Avonlea and Islands mangas. I'm still not much of a fan of the art of thoe, but mainly because of character design details. Sceneries and backgrounds in general were fine.... of course, there's the problem that there's so much you can do with only 6 manga chapters (18 in the case of Green Gables).

It is a bit of a shame to see a standard LN adaption get much better treatment than a literature classic like Anne... but that's just how it works. That standard LN sells more, as much as I dislike it, it's a fact. At least I think we have a great anime adaption of Green Gables, and I do appreciate that.

First of all, thanks for reading my blog!

Sadly, when I consider myself a good reader, I've never touched any of the Avonlea novels by Montgomery (but I definitely will). I did read a bit of what happens in the next novels, and what can I say, I'm looking forward to it. For now, I'm planning to read the manga as at least there is an adaption of the sequel novels there (I recently finished Akage no Anne manga, and I'm planning to read the other two between today and tomorrow... they're really short). The manga adaption of Anne of Green Gables wasn't nearly as good as the anime, but it's still Anne, and it does adapt Anne of Avonlea and Anne of the Islands (I believe). I'm planning to buy the novels, but I'm living in Spain right now and I want to read them in their native english, so it'll take a while to get them (and I'm an old school reader... I like paper).

I've heard about those two novels from Erin, but I don't even know the content of them. At least, I felt the anime had a proper ending. Of course, I would welcome an adaption of those novels, but I didn't feel like it was an unfinished story (which obviously happens a lot with incompleted anime adaptions from novels).

And yes, I'm aware about the airing problems Romeo no Aoi Sora had. It's a shame, with obviously the whole Angeletta thing being a point in the series that didn't feel quite right. At least the series did capture the friendship between Romeo and Alfredo really well, which was obviously the most important thing in the series. It's no Anne, but it's still a great anime.

That aside, Oreimo is the best anime cuz incest = wincest. Does that not disgust you enough? Or do you just like Shinsekai for the homo scene you psychopathic simpleton.
