I like what looks good to me. Unfortunately, that often seems to fall into the label of what people call "emo scene trendy". Which lord knows, wouldn't want to fall into a that label everyone hates and applies to almost EVERYTHING nowadays.
There's also a bunch of idiot metalheads in this world that think caring anything about fashion means you're not focusing enough on what's important and that's making music. Not to mention fitting their often hypermasculine, heterosexist viewpoint, despite the fact they have long hair.
Um....fashion has never been the main thing I spend money on. But it's fun too, if it's fashion I like again. I like wearing skate shoes and could just collect and collect those things. If I had loads of money to blow, I'd probably have several thousand pairs.
Also I don't understand the whole dichotomy of if you wear skinny girl pants you're an emo, but if you wear those huge hot topic style trip pants and jncos, you're also and emo/goth. I like both extremes to a degree and the in betweens as well. Candykids wear interesting fashion in general and that's really more of a candykid thing than goth, that big pants thing.
I sort o like on my fashion similar to I like on my anime. Big old bright Kandi bracelets, pastel colored clothing. Candy kid is basically the same decora in Japan, which is kind of nice, and seems to have some overlappings with the moe otaku culture.
When I have to actually have real real tennis shoes and not skate shoes, I prefer to wear Adidas. I really do not care for Nike or Reebok.
As far as skate shoes go, I really like my mainstream Vans. I don't care much for DC shoes. So I never buy them. I have a pair of element skate shoes that I care for dearly. Emerica is just okay, there are quite a few brands I prefer more. Fallen is pretty up there, they often make some really cool shoes and often times it's more fun to have a pair of fallen than Vans because they're more obscure.
C1RCA is sort of around like DC to me, not that terribly interesting.
Crocs are really not my thing, even as someone who likes bright fashion. I just kind of find them ugly and unappealing.
I always thought Kangaroos made a great pair of tennis shoes, and have been saddened that they hadn't done better.
JNCO used to be kind of cool, when they used to be more candykid and less hip-hop. I didn't like all the lame attempts at "tough" looking fashion, either. I haven't worn that sort of fashion in years, with the kandi and big pants, but out of nostalgia, I want to go back. And learn to make me some big old pants like that for myself, complete with pink, yellow and blue stars patched all along.
Abercrombie, Aeropostal, and American Eagle are by far not my favorite brands of any kind. But they make a few really good outfits from time to time, and fit the sort of 'loose', 'sloppy' fashion I like. So I own a couple, hoodies at least, from Abercrombie and Aeropostal.
I hate Eckō. I will never wear anything of theirs. Or any of those other "urban" clothings like Fubu, or Southpole. I am not a hip-hop person and I find their clothing to be ugly.
Delving back into the realm of what someone will label emo, or indie for that matter.
I think threadless makes great shirts and I want to own a whole lot of them. There are quite a few other online shops with a similar appeal and apparel. Who I would also like to buy from.
Volcom, in general, has good stuff. I enjoy their clothing. Getting back onto skate clothing. Definitely one of my favorite brands along with Fallen. I have a few Zoo York items, though I don't care to much for or respect a few of their skate team members. Etnies is another great brand that I love. I have several etnies paires of shoes I've bought throughout the years and other things.
Well you decide if I like fashion from that. I've made enough wall of text for now. |
