| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Still can't get over Killua's awesomeness.. xD. Lawl about Leorio getting trolled by the fat guy who doesn't care about anyone (FORGOT HIS NAME. -_-"). Gon and Killua.. Adorable with the pillows :3. I would do the same thing! :D Ya' know, I wish there was a girl (Kurapika!!) in the main team of Hunter x Hunter. Too unfeministic xDDD. Fishing rod.. :') I love the little room they have. It's awesome. I wish I was in the Hunter Exam soo badly! I could be friends with Gon and Killua, and it would be suuuper cool. Lol. My meaningless anime fantasizing.. 1 minute.. and OUT OF THE ROOM! :DDDDD I love how Killua just leaves when everyone fights... :) I love Gon. He's so amazing and pure. Leorio has too much practicality. Well, so do I, so I would've chosen X. But from a third-person perspective, of course everyone is going to say that O would be right. Sadly, most people, including me, don't have the beauty of Gon. :( I'm so happy they all came together :'). I hope Tonpa has a change of heart sometime later into the Exam. 5/5 - BEAAUTIFUL EPISODE. But I want their group to stay together.. |
| Kind of disappointed how they handled the door opening scene compared to the original. They had enough time to do it properly too if they avoided all that padding early on. Overall it wasn't bad. Then of course it will be surpassed as my least favorite episode in the series when we get the recap episode next week. >_< |

Whyyyyyy. ;_; This episode was alright, and I love how strong the nakama bonds between the team are (even though it seems to be mostly Gon keeping the friendship together)! But seriously, uggh noo recaaap agghjsadglsaahsdgj. I'm guessing from the title it's gonna be about hims ending a letter back home? How's he gonna send a letter from the middle of the exam anyways. Back to the episode, the first half was amusing with all the time wasting going on, and I think the second half was pretty cool with the finishing the tower and all, though agh why's Tonpa gotta be such an uncool guy. e_e;; |

Anyways, engaging episode. I enjoyed it quite a bit. |

| Cool ep, there I was really puzzled about how they'd clear out the final trial. Gon's a real bright head sometimes ^_^ And damn, the next ep.'s really looking like a recap to me, like Gon describing what's happened up until now in a letter to his aunt. DAMMIT! That really will make me watch the original instead (well, while waiting for the story to move on again). |

| Great episode. Loved seeing the pillow fights and what they were all doing to occupy the 50 hour wait. The second half of it got pretty good too, mainly because we got to see the serious and cool side of Killua. This remake has mostly portrayed him as happy and playful but its good to see his serious side. Loved how he called them stupid when they started fighting and went in the door and also when he told Gon that there would be no way for them to do it and that he wanted 2 of the 3 people who could pass to be both of them. Adorable friendship(sounds weird coming from a guy). lol at Tonpa really trying to Kill Leorio and Killua nonchalantly taking out his razor sharp nails and saying "Seems our only choice is to fight." That was so badass and I love Kurapicas reaction from seeing those. Definitely not looking forward to a recap, especially with the thought of how far this anime is behind from the manga. Shouldn't they be trying to catch up. There's no need for a useless recap is there? |

| First half of this episode was draaaagged and I have no problem with that if they didn't give Tompa too much screentime. Where's my Kurapika fanservice? I like what they did on the fight on the last part though and that small scene where Kurapika was worried when Killua went on battle mode (lol). If Gon wasn't that wise, I believe those three would definitely pass. |
| About as exciting as an episode devoted to a bunch of people sitting around and looking bored can be. Not very, basically. Not a bad one but by no means great, either. |
| While I like that they tried to show just how long 50 hours can be, this bit was definitely done better previously. I much rather would have liked the character building and work-it-out-ness in the final room when you actually got to hear the convincing and Gon's plan as it unfolded. As for next week... I get the feeling they'll leave us at the end of Gon's fight. It'll be a great cliff-hanger for the season finale. |

| Loved it when Killua said that he wanted 2 of the 3 people to pass to be him and Gon. One of the main reasons I love this series is because of that group(mostly the friendship between Killua and Gon). Stupid Tonpa. I think they made him worse in this remake. >_< |

| Wow, so using the skateboard to speed down the shorter path wasn't in the manga? It's funny how even though the 1999 version changed some stuff it still turned out better. I was so much more excited watching that version with Gon explaining the plan and seeing them hacking away at the wall, wondering how they would make it down with less than 3 minutes to spare. I didn't like how in this ep it first showed them passing the exam and then showing how they did it. Much less suspensful in my opinion. Was the whole thing with Tonpa fake-handcuffing himself also not in the manga? Cause that made a whole lot more sense of biding his time to strike instead of attacking outright like he did in this ep. |
| I liked all the extra scenes they put in, that weren't in the manga. That didn't really add anything to the story, but it was entertaining. Guess they just wanted to finish the episode with the end of Trick Tower-Phase. I still would've prefered to see the other games and traps, that were mentioned in the manga, though. Electrocute-Quiz, Mine-Monopoly and so on. Oh and WTD @ that preview? A filler already? o.O Or even season finale? I expected 25 Episodes. |

| I agree with others that this was slow as hell. I kept looking at the episode time and that's never a good sign. How the hell those guys managed to spend those hours in that room. It must've reeked with nasty feet smell. |

| I agree that the first half could've been a bit more condensed, but like others have said, the pillow fight was just so gosh darn adorable! XDD As a first-time viewer of the series, I actually thought the anime did a pretty good job making the final scene suspenseful, though I can see how showing Gon's thought process and their teamwork play out would be more heart-wrenching. I really hope that Tonpa has a change of heart too, because it's starting to get annoying watching him constantly try to sabotage the other contestants. :/ Oh and the stinky feet were so nasty LOL. |

| I liked it. SOOOOOO many people are weabooing it but this was acctually a good way to show us what was going on during the 50 hours. yes it was filler, but it was good filler, plus it was only for the first half of the episode. the other half was nice, it was a awesome way to put in some action and hint at gon's Idea of busting through the wall. this is arguably my favorite episode of the series sofar. | Fillers can be OK if done right... but these filler parts were horrible. The joke about Tompa's discusting feet was used to many times, and not even funny in my opinion. What was the point about Leorio feeling guilty about failing if he did nothing about it in the end? And the pillow fight don't deserve to be called one seeing how they just threw the same pillow back and forth... also, did anyone else think it was stupid that all five of them were hacking away on the wall at the same time? So unstrategic. I dislike saying ʺthe original did it betterʺ, but for this episode, it's just true...imo. |

I think they made him worse in this remake. >_< definitely agree with you, one of my fav things in this show is the friendship between them 2. as for tonpa i dont think they made him worse here. compared to the original, this one is nothing. maybe its just that initial hatred of him we had that got brought up again after seeing him, kinda like how kuripika gets all pissed off if he sees a spider. |
