| Every season has its own great anime. Some are popular and some are just underrated. Sometimes you stumble upon a hidden gem too. But after watching seasonal anime for a while i kind of realize that i tend to look for slice of life or romcom anime. Or just watch whatever's popular during the season. Of course, it's not a bad thing. Especially with maid dragon s2 airing this season. I get my daily dose of wholesome sweetness every week. But there are some genres that i always avoid each season : Cooking, Idols, Horrors. For some reason i just can't get into these genres. No matter how popular the anime is or how many people recommend me to watch it i just can't seem to get into it. And i have zero knowledge about these genres since i rarely ever watch it. But bear with me for a while and hear out my excuses. For example, cooking doesn't really appeal to me when you can't even taste or smell anything. What is there to enjoy? Much less when people are having orgasm while saying "It's delicious!". And idols... well i don't know. It's just too bright for me i guess? Whenever i see an idol perform i feel like i got hit by a flashbang. So instead of actually getting into the genre i turned a blind eye and avoided it. I do like some songs from idol anime though. And for horrors, well... i don't see any reason to scare myself with some pathetic jump scares. Especially when some characters are so dumb that they got everyone killed. So what are some genres you avoid? |

| I avoid no genres specifically, but I am TIRED of some genres. For example, isekai. I believe the most recent winter (or was it spring?) season had as many as 5 shows of this genre and 4 of them are nearly indistinct from one another. |

| Hentai, reverse harem, yuri, shoujo ai, yaoi, shounen ai - all of which I try to stay away from cos I’m not into that kind of stuff and see it as slightly weird, and no I’m not homophobic, I just try to distance myself from that sort of stuff for certain reasons, which is why I get disappointed whenever there’s an interesting premise tagged with any of those, cos I really want to watch it, but that thing alone is putting me off. Harem is another genre I tend to avoid cos the masses crappy anime under that genre. 90+% of that stuff is the same regurgitated plot in a slightly different setting with the exact same character tropes and unrealistic scenarios. Also the character development is usually very poor and for the majority, all the characters are 2D and very boring. However, ofcourse if I hear about a harem that’s highly praised ofcourse I wouldn’t immediately say no to it (something like ‘quintessential quintuplets’ or the upcoming ‘eminence in the shadow). I also completely avoid CGDCT cos it seems more like it’s part of a plan to emasculate all men or something, and the going by way the average teenager looks and acts like rn, it seems to be working very well. |

| i would like to avoid Harem genre as much as i can which involves depressed mc a childhood friend , a classmate who falls in love with the mc who knows why and also incest should be avoided at all cost shounen ai, yuri, yaoi etc |
