Would you forget it so that you can experience watching it again or would you forget it because it was so bad it hurt?

My choice would be to forget about Hunter x Hunter and re-watch the whole thing again.

I tried re-watching it but the fact that I remembered everything so clearly honestly ruined the experience and I gave up.
It's a great show to binge on when you're going in blind.

I would forget Steins;Gate, NGE, TTGL, Code Geass, SnK, TWGOK, etc... (there’s probably like 50 anime I could put here) for rewatch. I don’t want to forget the bad shows I’ve watched; I would rather have my time refunded.

This is only anime I really wanna forget.
It still hurts everytime when I remember it's last moment.

What this man said. The twist in all those show hit different when you watch them for the first time. Although rewatching them while knowing what is going to happen is still fun. I'd also throw The Promised Neverland into that mix.

It's not as engaging anymore if you already know the mystery

'97 Berserk. The amount of emotions I felt after completion: rage, distraught, melancholic and overall confused as hell.

Ironically, I'd love to experience that all over again. My most memorable anime experience, with HxH right behind.

Well, OP - as someone who has literally just binge-watched the Phantom Troupe arc from Hunter x Hunter today, I totally get why you'd want to forget it just to re-watch it. It's damn great.

I wish I could forget Monogatari just so I could watch it all over again. Watching that whole series was one of the best experiences I've had watching anime. I'll definitely re-watch it (but the second time I'll go chronologically) but it won't be the same knowing what's coming.

As for so bad it hurt, I'm still annoyed at Little Witch Academia for wasting my time. I hate that show.

I guess I would like to re-watch Ashita no Joe from a clean perspective. It's unfortunate that I had to watch it knowing how the series would end. However, if I didn't watch the YouTube video for Joe's final fight, I probably wouldn't have gotten into the show. So I guess it works out in the end.

Completely forget No Game No Life

I felt offended by this anime, never in my life something like that happened, I wanted to kill myself.
If you're a fanboy, please don't waste my time.

Watch more movies, please.

Perhaps, this is hell.

all of them.
I still clearly remember a lot of my favorite shows. I want to experience them as new.
mediocre stuff is not worth remembering at all.
shows that make me rage when I think about them should be erased from existence.
I want to send back my mal account in time to when I registered.

I’d like to Completely forget The Garden of Words, it was only pretty art and nothing else and was extremely boring compared to other slice of life I’ve seen, I’d also like to forget Aldnaoh Zero, because quite frankly the only thing about this was the first episode and excellent soundtrack.

None.
If I didn't like it, I would probably watch it again for the same reason I did in the first place, and in the end I'd have wasted my time twice.
If I like it, each rewatch brings something new and makes my experience of the show richer - in fact, I enjoy it more than the first time. Forgetting about it would be a step backwards, because I'd have to go through the same process again just to get to the same place where I am now. Better use that time discovering something new instead.
At least, that's how it works with me. I'm not saying it should be the same for everyone.

The pain for watching horrible anime is compensated in stronger feeling toward the anime I love. But despite that I still hope I could take back all the time I invested in this horrible Hunter x Hunter 2011 since it also destroyed all the appreciation I had for this franchise since the early 00's.

Pretty much this my only wish is that Slaine was in a better anime with competent writers.

Now for anime I could forget then rewatch

https://anilist.co/user/Roloko/favorites

I just want to recapture the awe and fun times I had cause while I love these series a lot its not the same as experiencing it for the first time.

I'd like to forget about and re-watch School Days so see if it going completely off the rails about half way though would amuse me as much as it did back in 2013, or if it's just the kind of bad that doesn't amuse me anymore.
