GO ARSLAN

I think this episode presented the climatic battle pretty well.
We get action from most of the main characters including that new girl Alfred. Still not a fan of her but she does show some skill.

Also gotta love Farangis' little speech :>

The battle between Daryun and Silvermask felt like a classic tbh. Loved it although the magic bits..eh. Still entertaining though. And what an ending.....wow.

Etoile/Estelle's interaction with Arslan are very thought-invoking, gosh, its great to see Arslan actually stand up for himself, and sad when his naive views aren't shared with others.

Lustania has the most retarded religion of all time....These people committing suicide makes no fucking sense whatsoever

Apart from that bullshit, this episode was perfect in my eyes for a war battle....Everyone had their time to shine and man the speeches by certain characters like Arslan and Farangies were 10/10

Hermes be Daryun was way too awesome but man, Hermes is way to strong if Daryun of all people can't even beat him D: At least Team Arslan was victorious

And FINALLY, he knows that Etoile is a girl.....I would be celebrating but sadly this anime is trying to prevent the OTP from taking off with what happened to that count guy TwT

Yeah, that ship I imagine is highly unlikely. It's going to take a lot to calm Etoile down and get her to open her mind, if she does it at all. I'm guessing she'll either be released and feel insulted or she'll kill herself.

Damn this episode... this anime is definitely one of the top ones right now. I really hope daryun will be able to defeat hermes or arslan will become a warrior enough to beat him. Though him leaving daryun alive will be his downfall I bet.

Impressive episode. Battle between Daryun and Hermes was decent, and Arslan and Étoile's confrontation starts out on a bad note.. and it will probably end on one. Seeing as how different their values are and how well this has been building up Arslan's character, I'm looking forward to seeing how this ends.

Damn! Quite the intense shit right there. And with just an intense cliffhanger. Well the pv spoils pretty much what happens <_<

Farangis too hax XD Having protection against arrows with one hit KO sure fire shots.

Arslan REKT Hermes with his speech and Dat choreography for Daryun vs Hermes was so epic. One of the best animated action scenes in this season.

Finding out Hermes has more than one shadow man and just leaving Daryun and not killing him for no reason was meh tho :/

The women jumping off was so damn irritating. Such stupid beliefs this f***n religion has and now Etoile thinks Arslan killed the Count *Facepalm*

She looked really beautiful with her hair down. Arslan finally found out about her identity too :D

All that budget went into Daryun vs Hermes sword fight! I had to watch that 2 times!!

If only everything else were done at that level.. Arslan Senki might have a chance to become one of the top contender this season..

Super cliche with Estelle/Etoile walking in, misunderstanding Arlsan when the Baron decides to off himself. Wow, last episode already next week? I think at least 2 more would be needed. Well, lets hope it gets an epilogue OVA or something, because I get the feeling the last ep will either be rushed to a conclusion, or left with a cliffhanger where Mr. Phantom of the Opera/Zuko still lives, plotting to take over the throne another day. Seriously, I can sit here all day poking fun of that guy.

But I'll still be happy if there's some more Arslan x Etoile scenes. And lets not forget the playboy bard is still around somewhere.

Who are those shadow creatures? I don't understand it at all and I can't stand them either because it gives supernatural feel to this anime and I prefer history animes without something like that.

Well, that aside. This episode was AMAZING!
I'm starting to like Alfreed more and we see more of the other characters as well.
War scenes were epic and Kubard came...I guess Gieve is somewhere close as well.

Amazing episode, except for the shadow spirits that keep on aiding Silvermask in escaping. This show would be even better without the supernatural angle.

Poweful scene with the Lusitanian's comitting suicide in masse. Religion being adhered to in that extreme, is nothing more than fanaticism. And they take it to the extreme no doubt.

I suppose our ship with Etoile and Arslan has sailed away forevermore after today. Wouldn't be surprised if she became Arslan's main antagonist in the future. I don't think she'll believe him and she's way too much into her religion anyway.

Yup, I really dislike the shadow magicians too. Why don't they just find Arslan's bedchamber and kill him in his sleep?

Daryun and Hermes fight was very suspenseful! Sound, voice acting, and animation felt very realistic and exciting.

Although very cliche, I liked how Etoile thought Arslan killed Count Baracion.

I love this series and Narsus is smart and all, but I am still not satisfied with his cleverness. I know I am asking a lot, but I always hope to see battles more strategic and clever than Kingdom and Red Cliff.

Intense from start to finish. Arslan has really grown as a character and has really become accustomed to his leadership position. It was nice to see most of our main characters in action like Farangis (those "marksmen" can't even get a single arrow to hit one woman, how sad lol), Narsus, and even Alfreed a little bit.

That fight between Daryun and Hermes was great except for those supernatural spirit shits that keep helping him. The magic element is just lame imo. I swear I was waiting for Daryun to die after that immense death flag line he said to Arslan before his fight started (not to mention Kubard's line of Daryun treating him to wine when this war is over).

Damn, religion can make people do some crazy shit. Those women all killing themselves, and even the Count. And then of course, Etoile has to enter at that exact moment where it looked like Arslan stabbed him and now there's a huge misunderstanding. Only one episode left, I wonder how this will all wrap up. And Gieve needs to come back......

The decisive battle for the throne, epic! Thanks to Etoile, Arslan's army found a quick way to go behind the walls. The main fight Daryun vs Hermes was great. Daryun lost but didn't die! And now there's a kindhearted Arslan with a raging Etoile. Awesome!

Partly religion based, but also keep in mind what victors have often done to captured women. I suspect that as a woman, it would be hard to trust a conquering (and heathen) army's discipline to be strong enough to prevent such things.

There is historical context as well. I suggest you look up both the Siege of Masada and the Battle of Auae Sextiae, among others.

They haven't mentioned it but in passing, but all that power they use take a lot of energy and blood, so they can't use it wily-nily.

Also, that's not the shadow people's plan. They have a reason that they are helping Hermes, which probably won't be revealed until the second season, if this series does in fact have one.

I wondered about that too, but the only thing I could guess is that he retreated somehow and met up with Daryun and the two returned to the camp together along with much of the army.

I just wish they'd shown it rather than have us guessing.

Wow, great episode. Loved the Daryun vs. Hermes fight. I hope Daryun is alive. I think Etoile got the wrong idea about the old man's death. And now she's hell-bent on killing Arslan. I don't think Arslan is going to fight her now that he knows she's female.

Well, it's not like he's never experienced fighting females before, such as Farangis and Alfreed, however I can see him just disarming her and having her imprisoned.

At this point, she's wiped out from the battle and emotionally distraught. Arslan's barely fought, and he's a better fighter. He should be able to disarm her pretty quickly.
At that point, Narsus and the others will probably come in. They've got to go and get Daryun too. I think everyone's going to need a rest after all this.

Why weren't there any of the Pars soldiers fighting in Hermes side during this battle? Is it just his means to "savour the flavour", by letting this time go and then crush Arslan next time.

I feel bad for Etoile, how her plan to attack the enemy camp led to a much easier assault for Arslan's army, that led to the death of the Count. Though it only quickened it, as Hermes hardly wanted to end it right here.

Can't believe Daryun wasn't the one to stand in that fight.

The two's relationship, I don't see how it would work out unless Etoile gets to actually spend time with Arslan, as a prisoner or something, to see his kindness to the point where she knows Arslan didn't kill the Count.

We don't know who's a better fighter yet. But still, like you said, Etoil is completely exhausted from the battle.
And if you see the preview, she really is imprisoned, and judging by her expression, she comes to know that the Count committed suicide.

As the series nears its conclusion I'm getting more and more disappointed by how hasted and forcefully climactic this is ( if that's the correct way of describing it ). This series doesn't feel even close to its actual completion, there's so much to be explored, yet we are at "the final battle". The series simply abandoned so many side plot lines, like Arslan's mother, the Queen; the dark sorcery; supernatural aspects regarding the Djinns and many more.

Not too fond of how Etoile just stumbled across the scene at that exact moment when Count threw himseft at the dagger than Arslan was holding. And those nuns throwing themselves of the tower was a bit ehhh, I don't know whether I'm dense as fuck, but I just don't see message regarding their religion other than it's pretty hardcore and stupid.
