| I never cease to be amazed at how clearly uninspired Sawano is nowadays. I guess when you're one of a fraction of composers that will sell on name alone it really doesn't matter anymore does it. Seems like that's pretty much the end of this guy and caring and I'm sure it'll be the same for that Seven Deadly Sins show next season. Also I thought Mika Kobayashi's singing was bad but the boy band or whatever it is on Call to Arms takes the cake. Can't sing to save their lives. And the lyrics for that first song....yeah I don't know, some tracks at least sound okay but I'd kind of just rather listen to his Unicorn track at the same time. It's like the same thing being photocopied over and over and over again with the occasional ink splotch added to it (in the form of bad vocal tracks) until it loses it's luster. I mean AZ Kat there's little question the first few bars are the instrumental version of Don't Lose Your War. I think the people that theorize he just samples his old tracks might actually be right. |

| The first time I've downloaded his ost I honestly thought that it was a problem with coding - that my system couldn't read letters right. I think that I would learn a new expression or two, if I did it. Maybe my taste is poor, but aside from the tracks with the voice I want the full version of SiTE-n0w1. I guess it will be good song for running after a bus, when you're late. |

Thanks for that :) Sawano's so cryptic as usual. I know that he likes to name some tracks after dates (that he composed I think, like for SnK OST 2) as well as abbreviating things, but most of these ones were interesting, like the word play ones. It's funny though cause it's like he spends more effort coming up with these naming schemes they he does on making the actual songs sound distinct and like he put any significant amount of effort into composing them. Basically it's like he wants people to think he's cool rather than a truly good artist these days. |

You seemed to have liked the anime, so you'll most likely enjoy the movie as well. | How do his song names come across as pretentious? The only way they'd be pretentious is if they had some esoteric meaning, but it looks like it's just some generic naming scheme that means nothing. My impression is that he likely doesn't spend any time on titles at all |

If it's the first time one's heard a Sawano soundtrack I could accept that people would find it okay, but this isn't anywhere close to the best he's capable of and it's like listening to the musical equivalent of a clear image going through a photocopier one to many times until you eventually end up with a splotchy watered down indistinguishable mess that barely resembles a proper image. So no it doesn't come down to butthurt or hype or dumb MAL politics, I just legitimately find the guy to not be giving the slightest fuck anymore. |

Although I can agree that this particular OST is far from AoT and KlK level (there are basically 2 or 3 motives in it), you too quick to jump to conclusions. It's been what? A year or so since the release of Attack on Titan? I can hardly name 10 composers in general that managed to deliver works of such quality in the past years, much less on TV, close to zero on american TV (sorry, Jeremy Zuckerman, you are good, but not that good). |
