Jesus Christ, their Shadow problem is spiraling out of control and not just affecting the main cast anymore.

Hizuru is also quite a badass when she puts up a fight. Felt like the story of this show just gets darker and darker with each episode like this.

Wow she's really something, Hizuru. Didn’t take her even a bit to figure out, which might be the actual possibility behind Ushio’s death.

We also got to know she herself was a resident of this island before, which very much makes it easier for her to investigate the things around. And now when I see things from her perspective it gives us a clearer picture of what was going on in the background for all these time.

Now with Shinpei meeting her this time, have to see how things will proceed from here.

this episode pace is so fast but still acceptable, and here it is question about Mio panties,
too bad Shinpei can't prevent Mio being copied tho.

My only complaint on this episode is TOO MANY CICADAS, I know it has Summer in the title but man half of the episode it's full off cicadas.

oh right last mention is about S!Ushio , she is walking on the beach. Looks like S!Mio finding her on playground.

Had to watch in raw but thankfully there was japanese subs for me to look up so it took about an hour to finish. A slow episode with Ryuunosuke's backstory and then there's little Ushio. Can't wait for next week!

Hizuru plays a very important role in this anime, and now he has met Shinpe. So next Sunday's episode will be no less exciting than the current episode :)

Dang I'd piss myself after that look from Shiori's "parents".

I might've misunderstood that part since I watched the raw, but Shinpei said he was purposely repeating all conversations so that he won't get suspected by the shadows. How come Shiori's shadow parents were suspicious of him this time but not the first time around?

We finally get some insight from Hizuru's perspective. She means business with those Shadows and put them in their place. 6 episodes in and this anime is still so great! So the panties are crucial to the plot!

Top tier facial expression of Hizuru:

Question: If nothing changes, how come the first time Shinpei repeated 22nd July Hizuru didn't notice that Shin-chan is Ajiro Shinpei? OR she did, but it just wasn't shown?

in original timeline and first loop Shinpei didn't interact with Shiori, but on second loop (ep 2) he did interact with her but we don't know details of the conversation

then it followed by Hizuru saying Shiori is shadow

on ep2 Shinpei didn't know Shiori is shadow so maybe he just saying some encouragement to Shiori

in this episode, Shinpei clearly give WARNING to Shiori so maybe it alert other shadow ( Shiori's parents ) and became suspicious of Shinpei

Hizuru didn't come to Ushio funeral and she didn't interact with Alan. Her knowledge is limited because she can't trust anyone on island except Nezu ( the hunter ).

But at 24 July in summer festival (ep5) she knows that Shin-chan is actually Ajiro Shinpei

It was shown during the episode that Hizuru-sensei was able to recognize who Shinpei was by meeting with Alan. Therefore, Hizuru-sensei wouldn't know who Shinpei was until she visits the funeral. The first time Shinpei repeated 22nd/Second loop ended at night which was when Shadow Mio stabbed him. My speculation is that Hizuru at that evening already knew who Shinpei was. However, she was not able to interact with him as it was already dark. In this new loop, due to the new info that he needs sensei's help, both of them were able to interact earlier than before.

Wait, wasn't Shinpei trying to do a perfect repeat of the 1st/2nd loop up to a certain point? I thought that was the whole reason he did that interaction with Shiori despite knowing that she's a shadow, meaning he did the same WARNING in his 1st/2nd loop.

Which is what made me confused, if it was the same warning then why did Shiori suspect him this time but not then? Did he change what he said to her?

If Hizuru didn't come, as in pay a respect to Ushio, what makes her does in this loop? Probably a dumb question but I am genuinely curious. Thanks for the answer.

Ahh yeah that makes sense. So originally Hizuru was already aware of who Shinpei was, but they didn't get to meet so she couldn't protect Shinpei faster.

But the part you said 'However, she was not able to interact with him as it was already dark. In this new loop, due to the new info that he needs sensei's help, both of them were able to interact earlier than before.', do you mean that Shinpei gets a new info that he needs Hizuru's help or???

Thank you for the answer!

This answer tied to shadow true identity and will be explained in future episode, I will not spoil it. :)

Sorry I think I make mistake, Hizuru did come to Ushio funeral in ep2 (first loop) but not coming inside and didn't talk to Alan.

so yea, I guess that's it, every little interaction change the future timeline.

Very interesting episode, it's not as intense as the previous episodes but the thing is we got more details about Hizuru. I didn't expect that the kobayakawa family are all shadows long before also loved how shinpei responds to hizuru when hizuru asked him if he's a time traveler

Just watched episode 6 and man, as a manga reader I was kinda disappointed.

I knew that with 25 episodes, 139 chapters and 5 chapters per episode they will cut something and that "something" is very important information.

I'm not gonna specify what that information is but I am kinda disappointed with this episode and I hope the next episode's pacing is a little better :(

I don't think they cut important information, I think they rearrange some scene so it can fit better in anime format.

I think i know what you’re talking about it’s that specific message right? i haven’t watched the ep yet but i know what they have cut, i think they have done a good choice since revealing that information this soon would just make it obvious for people to figure what is going on

A great Nagumo/Hizuru focused episode, seeing things from her perspective is very cool, lots of new information to be learned here like how many people were shadows from the beginning, seeing the shadow identifying technique in action was also very cool. Getting to see her take down a shadow was also awesome, her plan to hide in the bathroom and wait for the shadow Alan was very smart, this is the kind of stuff I was hoping to see from Hizuru. She also loves hanging upside down, pretty hot lol. It’s a shame some comedic scenes regarding her booba were cut from what I’ve heard, definitely woulda liked to see those but I get why some corners are starting to be cut.

And the old man shooting at Shinpei was pretty surprising at first but I very soon realized he was shooting at his shadow to see if he was real, I love seeing these shadow killing methods lol. And Shinpei introducing himself to Hizuru in the way he did was definitely funny, but now he finally has someone to confide in about his time looping, I can’t wait to see where it goes from here.

Great episode! Hizuru killed that shadow Alan in a second!
And she really is smart, knowing Shinpei has been repeating time just from what she told him to say to her when she meets him again!

Looking forward to the next episode!

Fansubs still haven’t gone up. Smh

Ight finally got a chance to watch the episode and it was definitely worth the wait. A lot of Hizuru plot this week, literally and figuratively. We finally learn the old man’s name and like I thought he’s on the hunt himself.

The little girl being the murderer and then killing her family was something I hadn’t thought of, would explain why ushio’s shadow seems to be normal, she’s somehow a variant of some sorts.

That last scene was really emotional, must have been so hard for shinpei going through all of this on his own. Now he finally has allies he can rely on and try to change the future with.

Can’t wait for next week.

Nice to get a bit of Hizuru's POV to better understand her and what she's been doing, rather than just being stuck in Shinpei's perspective the whole time. That aside, not many new revelations this week really, but it's not as if we can get a consistent barrage of those every week.

Hizuru's logical and wise thinking getting me bricked, I love this type of characters. They're always there to make the show even more interesting. Well, we got a lot of shots from her G-cups but that's not the biggest thing to be revealed. There are literally shadows at every corner and Shinpei finally met her at the end and seems like a lot of things have been lifted from his heart.

Some of the cut content, mainly Shin's inner monologue during the funeral proceedings and more before meeting up with Sensei is not really a huge
detriment to the episode, as there was a lot to cover, with Hizuru as the center focus. It could be intentional for more breathing room in the future episodes as there are many other important scenes to get adapted. Just have more chance and trust in Hiroshi Seko at this point when it comes to the pacing.

When Shinpei goes back to the past, do the shadows remember him? It looks like they don't. So I don't think Shinpei did the right thing interacting with Shiori-chan. Or he could've tried stepping on their shadows first before being so blunt.

That entire family is already doomed and can no longer be rescued. That definitely sucks. I hope his suspicious act of asking them about shadows got brushed off, but since he asked nearly the entire town this episode...I don't think it will. Hizuru is really smart! I don't think I'd come to time travel as my conclusion from such a short interaction. She's got a knack for coming to a conclusion with little info given.
