THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Ha, that tease "aimed" at Yu trolled me. Guren was actually trying to fight Mika.

Shit went down in the finale though.
Yu attacking his superior wasn't something I was anticipating. Plus, Guren's new powers makes him quite strong and durable compared to before.

Heh, demons vs vampires. I think the finale went all out for this show.
Quite an intense finale. About time even Crowley gets damaged while Kruel enters the frontlines. Eh, I think overall this season was better than the first. Less building up and we got mostly action especially this episode.

Ex-human vampire protected main guy. Then Nakamura-san's character attacked other vampires after saying "Owari no Seraph". They summoned megane guy's sister, who is in successful in some kind of experiment (Horobi no Seraph?). Nakamura-san's character hurting two guys, but the tear while laughing when hearing the word "family"... Some dark things released using her life? And it seems an area of vampire cannot regenerate released, too. He reached that "angel" thing...

He became oni again. He is strong that Horobi no Seraph is destroyed. His oni stopped him. So... Owari no Seraph became enemy to their own world and vampire queen became enemy to their own world? It's messy.

Main guy is able to escape with his family and Hosoya-san's character and prepared to save megane guy's sister. Can we still hope for sequel?

Tbh, I feel like they overplayed the possession. In the manga, it was relaxed and unclear - hence why Yu wouldn't realise it. But in the anime, you can clearly tell it's a completely different person, so Yu asking those questions would just be out of place.
Also, Mahiru!Guren swings like a madman, even though both Mahiru and Guren are really skilled at the sword. >.> *sigh*

The crying scene was far less emotional than the manga. Where's the "Don't wake up know Guren. If you wake up you'll be hurt in a way you won't recover from?"(paraphrased)

Tbh, I'm super pissed off.

On the other hand, Mika and Yuu look beautiful.

Yu nuked Abaddon to oblivion. Kureto deserved that.

Ferid finally got his hands on the loli-Queen. KRUL DON'T DIE. GKSHNVKSHBVGKH
Jesus Christ, that unnecessary timeskip.

That was crap. All of it was crap(except for the ED card)

Thanks for butchering Guren. Ffs.

Sorry but this ED card is atrocious, where is Kureto? Kureto should've been there instead of Mahiru.

Well that was a big clusterfuck, but I guess in the end they're together, and Mika and whatshisface joined their party. Didn't care for the possessed Guren plot point, wasn't needed. Salt master Yu was ok though. This season was just kinda there for me. Given how it ended most of it was pointless too. I feel like I at least understood what was going on better in season one. This? This was uhhh...something alright. Maybe if I read the manga it'd become clearer, but eh. 6/10.

Seriously, everthing was so hardcore and confusing I didn't have time for anythinking
What the fuck Crowley I'm so disappointed AND WTF KRUL PLEASE DON'T BE DEAD. p.s Fuck Ferid
Tbh now I'm so annoyed at Guren or Mahiru or whatever that I don't even care. What I cared about was Shiniya- I felt my heart breaking into pieces when he talked to Guren/Mahiru

And omg Narumi actually lived and the whole Shinoa squad+ Mika are together that made me so happy

I honestly don't even want to see the next chapter if it looks like this, I hope it's completely different
The ED card was the most beautiful thing ever tho

After watching it again, I don't think Krul died.....I think he just knocked her out and then she was captured/imprisoned offscreen

The finale for the first half went almost exactly like it did in the manga and this Salt battle was pretty cool imo

I guess I'll rate this either a 7/10 like I did with S1 or an 8/10

WTF was that O_o Clusterfuck is indeed the best way to describe it. Still enjoyed it quite a lot lol

Only thing I'm friggin pissed off about is Krul's fate being a mystery. PLZ BE OK MY CUTE VAMPIRE QUEEN >.<!! F*** U FERID!! I hope she'll be alright and join up with Yu's group later on. Loved the way she owned Crowley. Wow thought that guy was undefeatable but she REKT him.

Guren being what he was is probably my most WTF is happening in this ep. I mean really what's up with him and Shinya seemed to realize something about him being possessed after seeing his personality up close. Is it related to Mahiru? I'm actually a bit tempted to read the LNs now but I don't have time. Any LN reader kind enough to write a summary of some Mahiru related stuff and if this personality is explained in the LN? His tears do give some hope for Yu tho I guess. Don't mind spoilers btw

I wonder what's gonna happen to Mirai from now on. And why was Kimizuki just ok with leaving her? Does he think now that the angel is deactivated she won't be in danger? If I were him I'd be scared for my sister that they'll either discard of her since she's useless now or go back to experimenting on her. Definitely wouldn't leave her. Killing her might be better even :/

Yu Salt king mode was pretty cool visually and stuff. Liked how he owned that Kureto bitch. Good job Asuramaru turning him back. WTF was up with the ending tho? "It's raining" Wha-?

Overall loved this season way more than S1. Was gonna give it a comfortable 8/10 last week now, I guess I'll leave it as an 8 but it's shaky. I'll see how stuff go in the manga and decide on that.

The last known chapter they reached was chapter 40.

Start from chapter 1 or ch 15(start of season 2). Seriously, this adaptation was crap. You'd be better off reading the whole manga(it's not long).

It's not something you need the LN to understand. Put simply, Guren is in control of his body half the time, Mahiru is in control the other half of the time. Ferid explained it last episode.

Guren possessed and next to Kureto.
I'm actually very delighted that Narumi lives and stays with the group. I want to see Narumi be the MVP of a maybe future season. He has potential if they build him up now.

One of the greatest looking shows of year or even last years. Thank you WIT Studio for it. Classic animation techniques are ALWAYS better than any CG. Superb backgrounds, characrers design and HAND DRAWN effects. It is really SOMETHING nowadays.

Story was much better in this season too (excluding that gay episode :|), 8/10 (mostly for awesome art and animation).

That was a hell of a ride.

My poor Guren they let him possessed by his evil ex girlfriend and also what happened to Shinya, I hope he I okay and can make Guren come back.

Krul ended up being such a mom, I loved that she cared for Mika.

Kureto was nice in this ep, but I don't even know about the angels slash demon thingies.

Mika got his Yuu and the squad is happy and together.

Nice end, I want a new season.

Guess I am in the minority for thinking that the last episode was quite good. Though I can understand why the cliffhanger is so frustrating and also, I haven't read the manga, so I can't compare it to the originial version.

But what I find interesting is the ending part with Yu. I think this part should show us that he has changed since he used the trumpet. First I didn't think anything when they showed our characters at the ocean but what if there's a good reason they're there?
The Seraph of the End in Yu is called the Salt King and maybe Yu now needs to be in the presence of a great quanitity of salt, hence they're near the sea. (Yu's demon did say he will lose his human qualities). The others didn't seem all that surprised to see Yu going to the sea, so does it mean it happend often in the last months?

Just a little speculation on my part^^

I hate and love this pun at the same time.

Well this adaptation was much more disappointing compared to season 1. They shortened or omitted a lot of things, some of which were pretty important in terms of character development. And this ending.......man that was, like everyone is saying, a clusterfuck. The visuals did look pretty good during the battles though. And at first I was surprised at Crowley getting "killed," but then I realized.....it's fucking Crowley. There's no way he could've died so easily. But I'm wondering if Krul is actually dead. And now it looks like Yu and co. are doing their own thing away from the army. What was the point or significance of Yu mentioning that it was raining? That seemed kind of weird.

4/10, might go up to a 5 if I change my mind but I realistically don't see that happening. I don't really care if there's a third season but at the same time, I kind of want one just to get some closure. But that would have to be much farther down the road since they caught up to the manga.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

No, you're not. I quite enjoyed this episode as a conclusion to the Nagoya battle. Nobody I cared about died and Krul got arrested. While Parts of it that were adapated from chapter 40 were let-downs like Mira-nyan mentioned. I didn't even notice Guren crying here until Yuu mentioned it and I had to rewind to catch it.

I'm just not sure if Yuu is human or half possessed by his demon who did have to take control to get him out of Seraph mode.

What I didn't like was how it left Krul and Mika's intentions so ambiguous. In the manga, Mika didn't seem to thrilled when Krul came for Yuu while here, things were so chaotic, he complied right away. Not the best adaptation but I'm complaining since anime adaptations tend to fall short in some places.

I like how this adaptation leaves everything open for a season 3 which would come in 2018 at the earliest (manga is behind right now).

As for the whole salt thing, that is clearly a reference to the bible as a method used by angels to punish humans (those who looked back on the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah when they were not supposed to turned to salt). Has nothing to do with the sea really.

I dont know if I would really suggest people read the manga (mikayuu episode enhanced things more than the manga), and anyone who was actually following the anime alongside the manga would realize the only scenes left off were silly three/four panel comedy moments (though Ive reread the manga already and like the anime).

I wonder for the manga which of the events we've seen here will be done the same way, the three that do the manga might have second thoughts. Though I fully expect it to take six months or more to even cover everything this episode did

I felt bad for Narumi, he's his only team's survivor at the end of the day, Mika had to give up Lacus and such :( and now he has to be sustained on Yu's blood alone, how sweet, I mean krul.

I still think Kureto should actually die, Krul kind of set herself up to be defeated when an opening allowed Ferid was always wanting to get one up on her and I imagine he would go after Crowley too...
