Well, at least Saitama showed up in his own show. But hopefully you were paying attention since it was from 20:05-20:55, and only him walking in a wet tunnel. At least he said some words 😂. At this point I don’t expect to see him throwing a punch until the last episode or two. More smart robot boy and every other character I can’t stand. I’d rather see King fumbling and trying to escape work then these also-ran characters

Combine the two words you get 童帝 (doutei) meaning "Child emperor".

I think the word has two meanings, then, because when I put it into Google Translate, it comes out as “virgin”, just like I said, but with a different second kanji. It appears as 童貞, which has the same first kanji as your "dōtei", but a different second one for some reason, haha.

That guy always replies to me on everything I rate, whether it’s a manhwa, a manga, or an anime. I think he has way too much free time on his hands, to the point that he just goes around randomly talking to people on forums about stuff he probably hasn’t even watched or read.

@Skuvan Technically it's not two meaning, it's a word of its own, though I'm not sure if it's a real word or a made up word specifically for Child Emperor. Here's an easier breakdown:

童 (dou)= Child
帝 (tei)= Emperor

Hence 童帝 (doutei) = Child Emperor

If you're referring to "virgin" then it's written as:

童 (dou)= Child
貞 (tei)= Chastity

If you watch jojo, you'll notice something similar. For example, using kanji, Star Platinum is written as:

星 (Hoshi)= Star
の (no)= 's
白金 (Hakkin)= Platinum

Hence 星の白金 (Hoshi no Hakkin) = Star Platinum

This was actually one of my favourite parts of the manga, though the regenerating phoenix getting multiple redraws also played a part

Its kinda funny how comically bad the score is now that the show is actually good again. (Not anywhere close what it deserves but still.. Im here for the story. If I wanted sasuga I would just stick with the manga)

I liked the inclusion of the retconned chapters simply because brilliant eagle mode phoenix man is epic af. Apart from that its ok. Child emperor's brave giant is a spectacle. This level of animation should have been the bare minimum for the series yadayada

This garbage episode isn't even be canon. Completely removed all of Saitama's interactions during this fight, like him entering the spiritual space of Phoenix Man via punching, or him saving Child Emperor from the 2 ninja monsters. Of course, also removed Phoenix Man's dialogue with Child Emperor to persuade him into becoming a monster like him.

@Yuu_Kanzaki I’m honestly just glad someone else noticed what I noticed, that “Child Emperor”, for some reason, is pronounced the same as the Japanese word for “virgin”, haha. It would’ve been weird if I were the only one who knew that. And I don’t watch JoJo, but yeah, I get what you mean.

What the heck?! Another good-looking episode?! In a row?! ;P Even better animation than before. Storyboards were good too, same with overall direction.

The fight was cool. That Phoenix Man dude's power was insane. To think that one bird suit can result in such powers simply waiting to be awakened under proper circumstances...

Oh hey, those dudes from before are actually alive. xD Was it because of Phoenix Man's power affecting monsters?

That spoiled brat hid the fact that another kid was with him earlier in the cell. Not cool, not cool. Although, he's a kid... I can imagine a frightened kid, spoiled or not, acting this way.

I honestly find it sad that this entire season is all about “finally a good episode!” among the community. For a series to have this reaction is solid proof that it has already flopped.

Coming from someone who absolutely loves One Punch Man (anime & manga), season 3 has been a major disappointment. I’m not mad, it’s just sad to see so much potential fall so short in the final product.

I would like to point out a previous comment mentioning that this looks like a low budget early 2000’s anime, which I feel sums it up nicely.

As I watch each episode I am now constantly seeing all of the animation shortcuts which leaves me believe very little effort and pride was put into this work.

All viewers should not settle for this level of quality. This only encourages studios to cut corners knowing people will still watch their work. Despite my love for OPM, there are so many better works worth your time.

Unfortunately season 1 is a unique scenario and it’s unlikely any season following will rival it. Although, if we were to experience a season with even half of what season 1 provided, it would be amazing… unfortunately this season is barely a fraction.

Eeeeeeeeeh.... that one fell flat for me. Even the intense moments that I loved in the manga were too quick and empty here.

The animation isn't that good. Of course, it's better than most of this season....
I still enjoyed it.

How do you turn a series that's about the ennui of a character too powerful to have fun fighting and turn it into the most generic shonen anime with zero stakes? Brutal pacing and completely relegating the actual interesting characters to the backburner. It was way more fun when the heroes were obvious send ups of other anime series and now instead they're playing it straight. Bizarre especially after Mob Psycho got better and better as it progressed.

My favorite part of the episode was when the the Hero Kid's mecha was supposed to last only 2 minutes and a half, and they spent more than half of the episode on it xD

The animation wasn't as terrible as it was once before this episode, I guess, it was actually some of the best so far in this season.
Now, why did that Monster revived exactly when the Hero was going back, well, because it can.
I didn't feel like the battle was too exciting either, a bit boring if I may say.

In the end we got a bit of Saitama I guess. Are we getting more of him in the next episode?

I'm starting to get convinced this season isn't boring solely due to the adaptation, but also due to source material, because this arc so far has been a lot of nothing really happening. Not exciting at all.

Also, the Ninjas from last episode are still alive, I wonder if they are going to fight Flashy Flash, again.

I really need this guys backpack, endless space (anime logic, Where you can fit a whole house in your backpack) and it doesn't weight anything lol. Good thing 10 seconds in anime are like 5 mins. Poor kid gonna have to spend 10 years to replace all his toys

hahaha it's so funny that Murata re-drew their fight about a year later. Now animeonly is ok, but those who read the manga are divided into those who read the first version of Murata and don’t even know that there was a second, and those who read the second and think that they ruined everything in the anime and changed it themselves.

Que verguenza de anime, finalmente animan algo bien/decente pero usan el material NO CANON. Es absurdo lo mal adaptado que esta. Mezclaron partes del manga las cuales fueron descartadas, y redibujadas, con partes de la nueva edicion, quedando una mezcla rara que posteriormente no va a hacer sentido.

@Gonta29 in the manga this whole arc was redrawed, and they changed lots of things. In the original version Saitama defeated phoenix man. In the "new" version Child Emperor won alone. The problem is this episode adapted parts of the old version and parts of the new version, so its going to cause lots of inconsistencies later. They LITERALLY adapted NON CANON parts.

Not gonna lie, I highly enjoyed this episode from beginning to end. It made me appreciate Child Emperor's character a bit more and though I think Flashy Flash's fight was handled better, I still gotta respect the staff's effort to maintain the same level of consistency for this fight that lasted an entire episode.

Not too bad but I'm just bored of fights like that, we just got so many weak and low budget episodes and now we have this kind of mecha fight which isn't too bad actually (still average) but not that interesting so another meh episode, still not as worse as the beginning ones (just like the previous one)

When they finally had to stick to the manga they decided to change it.
huge disappointment imo!
This part in the manga is beautiful and really brings out Child Emperor’s human side. how he doubts himself, feeling like a useless kid surrounded by adults, and how he overcomes it. We got none of that! instead left with a dull version of Child Emperor.
We also missed out on more Saitama screen time that should have been there toward the end of the fight.
As I see it that’s a terrible production decision, especially since this moment foreshadows Child Emperor eventually

down the road.

Esta temporada 3 de OPM va fatal: Saitama casi no aparece, no ha habido un solo “One Punch” y el ritmo es absurdamente lento. Empezaron en el capítulo 126 del manga y al episodio 9 solo han llegado al 142, adaptando apenas 16 capítulos cuando antes adaptaban 5 por episodio en promedio. Lo que estan haciendo en 9 capítulos antes era el equivalente a 3. Por eso la temporada se siente aburrida, estirada y sin la esencia de OPM.

Since Child Emperor has become my favorite OPM hero, and since this is an episode dedicate to him and his fighting/problem-solving capabilities, I got to give this one a good rating at least.
The evolved forms of Phoneix Man look pretty sick too, ngl. Same goes for Child Emperor's mech suite and mini-mech drones.
