Is this my opportunity to recommend MASTER KEATON? :D The characters are much older than in your suggestions so I'm not sure how you'll like it, but it's nice as a slow episodic mystery with a bit of action & slice of life~ one of my favorite series of all time. definitely not biased! ....For the next users - please rec me some webtoons, shoujo, crappy romcoms or fantasy/isekai or anything fun :^) @ConstantReader That plot looks so messy lol. I like it. @mi-chandesu I was thinking about Akabane during the MAL stack event :o Will take a look Thanks for the recs!

@coffeedrops I don't read much romcom, much less crappy ones lol, but maybe you'd like Hope You're Happy Lemon. Just know it's still ongoing and hasn't even hit 100 chapters yet, so you should be able to determine if you like it quickly! As for me, I'd just really like something with unique vibes/art/concept with a good central theme of friendship, but isn't too weird or uncomfortable. Anything similar to Shadows House or Rojica to Rakkasei (I know not many will have even heard of the second one but I need to mention it cause it's genuinely one of the best manga I've ever read).

@coffeedrops ROMCOM!! I’m throwing Akabane Honeko no Bodyguard at you because this series has the kind of chaotic energy that grabs you by the collar and refuses to let go. It’s silly, it’s sweet, the timing is hilarious, and the characters constantly act like they’re in a drama only they understand.

@kihel It's not a four-panel comic, but I'd like to recommend SQ: Begin W/Your Name! The manga entry says it only has 9 chapters, but that's only in reference to the published volume- the ongoing webcomic has over 200 chapters by now and whilst it might not be a four-panel comic, each chapter is generally very short so it's quick and easy to read! I'd like any manga recommendations, right now I prefer shorter manga that could be finished within a day- my current publishing favourites are Momose Akira no Hatsukoi Hatanchuu., Madan no Ichi and Mahou Shoujo Dandelion. Anything similar to these regardless of length would be great! I also enjoy reading one-shots, so any type of one-shot recommendation I'd love :) Thanks!

@kihel I'd have to say my favorite 4koma is Tomo-chan, so maybe it would interest you. I don't know how well any 4 panel comics waste time though, I always find myself going through them quickly. I'd be pretty happy with any recommendation, but I think the one thing I have the most trouble finding is a truly tactical action manga like World Trigger, if anyone has thoughts there.

| @juvialockser It's not a finished manga, nor is it short at all, but I think you might enjoy Jibaku Shลnen Hanako-kun based on your list. I can't really summarize it; I'm also not the best person to sell you on this series, because it has some seriously dedicated fans who can do much better than I can. You might also like Kesa Mo Yuraretemasu, which is also ongoing. It's a fluffy, sweet, and funny rom-com about two dorks, from the perspective of three other passengers on the train they ride to school every morning. To anyone who plans on recommending me anything: I would prefer an ongoing manga that you would consider to be "underrated," because for some reason, these always turn out to be the most fun I have reading manga. I don't think I can say much else except that I usually lean away from shลjo / shลjo-adjacent manga, but that's more of a habit than a preference. | @ConstantReader (and anyone else, for that matter) This is still ongoing, but I've really enjoyed reading Shoujo Seikan Hyouryuuki. It's an episodic series in which two girls travel from planet to planet. I love Yoruno Hitsujigumo's artstyle; it's just about perfect for this series. |

@detarameMAL If we're talking "underrated", then the least-popular and lowest-rated manga in my top 10 is A Side Character's Love Story, which is actually at #3. It's a very strong romance with adult characters that takes itself seriously while still being positive overall. The only caveat is that while it is ongoing, the translation has been stalled for a pretty long time, and I don't think it's being scanlated either. For my recommendations, I'm open to most anything in the romance, comedy, or slice of life category (I don't really read action manga because I prefer anime for that). I do prefer official translations, so ideally it would be something that's either fully released in English if complete or simulpubbed if ongoing, but that's not a hard requirement.

@SenpaiList (just in case, sorry for the double ping) I quite enjoyed Kamisama ga Machigaeru. It's a pleasant and short read (4 volumes) with a hint of mystery. The concept itself is also entertaining! I'd like to read a manga which is more story-based, as I have trouble finding those. I have a lot of gag-manga/case of the week added (think like SKET Dance, Hinamatsuri, Gokushufudou), but I can't seem to come across any interesting ones with a great story/concept, so would appreciate some recommendations! :D

@UnlawfulAjay I have a few recommendation in that case :D I'd highly recommend Billy Bat, it's definitely the type of manga you can't place down because of everything going on. If you want something shorter and like historical settings, Reiri was amazing. And if you're okay with mahwa, Weak Hero is personally one of my favorites! For me - I enjoy reading a bit of everything, so don't hesitate recommending something you absolutely love. Could be manga, mahwa or mahua, as long as you can find it in English. Bonus points if it's finished.

@LordJamp I'm not a huge fan of the long strip format since I usually use an e-reader rather than a phone, but I might check it out. As for your request, two that you might check out are Otaku x Gal and Hunting in Another World With My Elf Wife They're both actually pretty good in my opinion, but very blatant about the fanservice and wish-fulfilment.

I haven’t delved into much manga yet, but I liked Imadoki! (comedy, drama, romance, with a plant theme) and Swimming Lessons for a Mermaid (romance, supernatural). Open to any suggestions that have mystery and suspense.
Hi, @AnemoGod! I'm recommending both Monster and Another as they both have mystery with suspense! Although, Monster would be a rather long read (many chapters) as Another is much shorter! (Another is also a horror one!)

I don't read much manga, so it'll be hard to give real recommendations, but Grasp and Surviving Romance are some of my favourite weebtones, so check them if you're interested.
Also, would love to get some recommendations. I mostly enjoy horror or mystery/detective manga, or something with a unique plot.

Sam565 said: I mostly enjoy horror or mystery/detective manga, or something with a unique plot. Hey! I have a couple of recommendations you might like. Mystery/Detective: Boku dake ga Inai Machi (Erased) A rather popular one since the anime aired in 2016, you might've heard of it. If you are fine with reading light novels, then I would really recommend Kinou no Haru de, Kimi wo Matsu (Wait for Me Yesterday in Spring) it has an interesting time travel mechanic, and a mystery that fits nicely together with it. Horror: Most of these are still ongoing sadly, so they aren't completed yet. Includes both comedy and sweet moments, but with rather detailed and grotesque depictions of the ghosts/apparitions. Also had an anime adaptation a couple of years ago: Mieruko-chan This but might be more mystery than horror, depending on who you ask, but having your reality shattered in the way that happens for the protagonist would be quite unsettling: Tonari no Jiisan If you like horror that goes more into "cursed" places, with vengeful ghosts. Then: Kubikukuri no Machi: Shinomiya Jinja Series might be something you'd like to read. This last one contains a mystery with some horror mixed into it: Urasekai Picnic (Otherside Picnic) Edit: If anyone wants to recommend anything to me, either go by the list I provided above to Sam565 and give something similar, or give me something you yourself find interesting. I'd like to see what you want other people to read for example. |

@ApEf the first thing that comes to my mind when i think of a detective/mystery/ horror is the great and under appretiated SOIL. it reminds me a lot of junji ito and i think you will enjoy it https://myanimelist.net/manga/7166/Soil comment: i would love anything old and forgotten you think might be underappreciated for what it is (if its psychological that's also a plus)

@thegoishady Looks like an interesting read, I'll check it out. Thank you for your recommendation! :) If you want something that's psychological and slightly creepy, then Homunculus might be something worth checking out.

@kta_99 If you’re looking for romance or comedy, I’d recommend Imadoki! (a cute comedy-drama-romance with a plant theme) and Swimming Lessons for a Mermaid (romance with a light supernatural twist). Both are good reads.

I'd recommend something like Rookies, perhaps. I see a lot of lighter shounen/comedy in your favourites, and this is one from the 90s. Not sure how you feel about sports though lol. Recommend me something you found weird but good. I'm a big fan of manga that's bizarre in some way, stuff like Golden Kamuy, Takemitsuzamurai, Kokomi Quiz etc. Edit: I was trying to rec to @AnemoGod but seems that two people posted in the meantime!

Howdy @politecorn Psychological thrillers or dramas? You might like Lost+Brain - it's shorter than I would've liked but it is good. Didn't go in the direction I expected it to. Another psychological manga I think you might like is Gakkougurashi! - don't discard it cus it looks cute. The way each chapter unveils new and new details about the world is so subtle and clever. I also saw you read Bastard, Pigpen and Shotgun Boy - I've read almost everything by their author so I recommend his stuff with both hands lol. Hope you have fun!

@AnemoGod hey!! it's hard to tell what you enjoy most with so little ratings!! Yet i think you kind of like antropomorphic or however it's spelled stories. My suggestion is Odd Taxi As for me... I don't know. It may be simple to check what I like... maybe something violent?

@Spikey0 I would like to recommend Akabane Honeko no Bodyguard, it's a very funny and action-packed series about a scary-looking boy trying to protect his childhood friend from killers, without her finding out anything (that she is being protected and that she is being targeted by killers) For recs I would like to get some rom-com or some action manga, or something with a unique plot. just not 4-koma

I'm going to toss a few of my favorites out there for anyone. BL - Kuroneko Kareshi no Asobikata This has multiple sequels and I love every single one. I have re-read all of them when a new one comes out. BL - Mo Dao Zu Shi There is a bromance turned love interest with this one. I did watch the anime before picking this up though. I got into the Live Action version afterwards and loved it. Gore - Imawa no Kuni no Alice I started with the OVA and got sucked in. Gore is an understatement. It has 3 seasons of Live Action, but they leave out a lot. Fantasy - Solo Leveling The anime really needs to stick more to this. Hopefully the upcoming season will dive into the manhwa more to help character development. @Magikarpeus - I saw you watched Solo Leveling. Have you read it? If not, I would recommend it. @@Sam565 - I saw that you read Imawa no Kuni no Alice. You might like the Bloody Monday series.

@Sam565 Hello! I have a good one for you. It is actually not a manga but it is a manhwa and its called Dr. Frost. Its a psychological manhwa about a Psychologist and is extremely good at reading people and finding out whats wrong in their lives. I think you'd like it but it is pretty long with 258 chapters. Another recommendation is Akai Kiri no Naka kara which is psychological and has some gore in it. I hope you enjoy one of these! For me, I have an affinity for bl mangas/manhwas and tear jerking stories. Two examples are Pink Heart Jam and Fumetsu no Anata e.

@Sam565 Hello! I also love horror and mystery as well! I would like to recommend Ningyo_Series. I don't fully remember horror, but it was intersrting, and definitely has gore in it. Asks the question of what happens when you mermaid flesh?? And since you don't read too much manga I think this would also be good as its on the shorter side with 3 volumes (16 chapters).

@Phanuel I saw some cute slice of life on your list like Azumanga Daioh, as well as a healthy mix of action, so idk I think maybe you could find Moriking pretty fun? It's only 4 volumes, which you can get legally as ebooks. I had a random whim to read it the Manga Plus app while it was publishing? And I found the human-beetle gijinkas making friends with a smol boy pretty cute. Has to be one of the most obscure no-name manga I've completed, but it was the first to come to mind for you.
