After reading the manga, I was very excited for this anime! The first episode was a great start. But in episode 2, I felt that the animation quality dropped and it could have done a better job of bringing the manga to life.

dude's definitely a petulant brat, hope he grows out of that. if he wants to be fueled by revenge, sure, whatever. but he was basically just an annoying kid that whole time with Enjin. it'll get exhausting if he is continually like that.

“Gachiakuta” is a raw and thrilling masterpiece that blends brutal action, stylish art, and deep societal themes. From the grime of the slums to the chaotic beauty of the wastelands, every panel oozes intensity. Rudo's journey of revenge and redemption is driven by emotion, unique worldbuilding, and jaw-dropping fights. The artwork is god-tier—every explosion of trash and emotion feels alive. If you loved the energy of Fire Punch or Jujutsu Kaisen, this is a must-read. A perfect 10 for its originality, pacing, and unforgettable vibe

i still hate the main character. seems classical nekketsu shounen for the moment, with a SLIGHT darker twist. not sure to watch the whole season if it stays in this very nekketsu way

Will be an enjoyable ride without ever being game changing in any way.

Nice way to waste 25 mins each week.
@Vindicater I have no problem with this, maybe this can be my replacement for hero vigilantes which was also something that didnt reinvent the wheel in any way but was a consistent week to week thing to relax to and have fun with. Though this seems significantly more cynical.

@Unoriginality You are kind of answering your own question as to why people are complaining about this show and then justifying it that these tropes have existed for decades, its retreaded ground so its not exactly gonna wow many people. Some people wont mind like me who are just gonna roll with it but others that are more tired of this type of stuff are gonna drop off. I say im gonna roll with it but even I wont lie my interest dropped off pretty significantly once the powers were introduced cause it felt like the series could of had far more interesting adventure and action elements before that so I fully understand where people are coming from.

Sad taste you have there kid you came up to me in the first place making you look more like a kid who got slapped without me even knowing it and start crying about it to me

the cgi is kinda disappointing but i dont blame the studio for using it. the monsters still seem fluid and have life but i feel like the cgi just stands out too much

so far this seems pretty decent, am looking forward to episode 3 (although its been delayed because politics smh)

In terms of character design and tone, I see a Tokyo Revengers 2.0
All characters are good looking in a boy band way, and tone is pseudo-dark and just surface-level.
The way themes and characters motivations are depicted sound juvenile at best.
I had the right feeling in the 5 first minutes of the season's opener :
This show is absolude MIDness

Better than episode one. Starting to get into the power system. The action scenes are pretty cool. The show is definitely "Cut my life into pieces" edgy.

for me, this is the real pilot. because my biggest problem with episode one was that they didn't really reveal any part about the power system or any "cool" stuff that could hook me to the show and this episode is just a step up in every possible way. really excited to see the story that is to follow from here coz now, i am hooked. also, i thought the use of 3d was great and the op is so amazing. reminds of death note 2nd op

I thought this was really cool. As someone who only read gatchiakuta a couple of years ago and only the first chapter. I read the manga up until where he got dropped into the pit, and then never again, so for me, this episode was really cool to see what happens after that. I thought the part with the finger. Biting was really bad and and I'm definitely excited to see more. I think it's a really. Fun idea, I think the OP and the ED are both really good, and I love the visuals. I mean, the CGI isn't super great, but you know, they have to do what they have to do. The CGI still looks cool, imo and most of the visuals are really awesome, so i'm cool with it.

overall, it's a really great second episode. I loved it. I'm happy gachiakuta got this big because it's definitely something different and unique enough that it's cool.

This show is probably going to be a big hit. The idea is pretty original. Love the themes and setting of the show. Feels kind of like a mix between Fire Force, Kaiju No. 8, and resembles comedy-action in Jujutsu Kaisen.

I love the powers they have too. Excited to see the show evolve and dig deeper into their power systems.

Very classic episode I have a feeling that our little guy is going to give up his revenge very quickly for something bigger as usual I wanted to see carnage, like a good little shonen character haha..

The animation could be better but it's okay, seeing dogs made of trash getting beaten up is entertaining.

I still want to know more about the universe and its characters.

The opening is great song wise. I like the premise, It's basic Shounen formula but this one lacks the kick I feel. So far it's very generic ngl, Maybe it lacks the edginess of the manga artstyle? (That I've seen) Maybe I'll like the manga more but I'll stick with the anime for now.

Interesting power concept, Enjin seems like the Kakashi of this show lol. Ed song is a banger too so all good.

Great! I am sort of short on words however, so I will just say the words shonen, cliche.

I love this shit cant wait for them to pull out battle arc, with group of people fighting in an arena. Probably next episode.

I will be categorizing these and rating this episode based on plot, backstory, theme, music, and character arc

Plot: 6/10
could use less cliche but still good

backstory: 7/10
uuuh it was ok? there wasnt much tbh

theme: 8/10
grim world needs assurance so ppl will categorize but MC is not about that... since ep 1

music: 10/10
I really liked the opening, and the sound track had some impact to it... cant say much it was really good

character: 9/10
great introduction, to villians, allies, and homies alike. but very shonen way of delivering it or for the most part

overall: 8/10
great ep
@Huperchild if you are worried about the shonen cliches just wait for the plot to advance.
I wont spoil but ill tell you that it eventually breaks with many of your typical battle shonen cliches and its so much fun.

Oh my god—what an absolute banger of an OP! The music and visuals are incredible.

This episode topped the last one—the action scenes were seriously impressive. I’m super intrigued by how the Givers’ powers actually work, and what kind of world the Abyss really is.

Very solid episode, got a very little idea of this bizzare world but there still a lot to know it's definately not a 10/10 episode but it's a solid 8 cause animation is definately better than the most of the shows considering there is not that much of any major fight scene happenign right now other than just some character introduction well we'll see hwo it is going to turn out is it going to worth the hype or just some talks

Sleeper hit of the season! I don't get the hate, the whole vibe of the show is dark and gritty. OP fits the show.

I'm IN LOVE with Enjin's character design and powers 😍 This man looks so cool and he's OP. Looks like we'll be meeting some more cool characters next episode too. Like LOOK at that receptionist damn 😍

Had no expectations going, but I'm really enjoying this series.

People are being way too unfair about the CGI. Animating those monsters that burst out of innumerable pieces of garbage, made from writhing pieces of garbage, having all those objects moving with relatively believable physics on screen at once, would be extremely difficult without CGI. Way, way harder than most of the other stuff that CGI gets used for like dragons. If you were going to use CGI for anything, it would be these kinds of scenes. Maybe eventually they will be able to use AI to help animate scenes like this without using CGI, but it wasn't even that bad. Overall, this series has a lot more style than the average anime.

This is definitely inspired by Jules Verne. That aside, Rudo is so 'in-your-face'. Not sure if he'll tone down anytime soon. He's got a lot of hate to go around though it's misdirected.

This anime is quite interesting, and even though this episode rewards the viewer with cool action scenes and a bit more understanding towards the setting of the show, it doesn't hit as hard as I'd like. I'm still fully invested, but not as excited.

Crazy Enjin was just using Rudo to test his abilities and finds out that Rudo is special in being able to draw out power from multiple items. Still messed up as Rudo could have easily taken the L while chained up. This place is ruthless.

hmm... just thought of something...

If the "PIT" is the actual "Earth"...

And the "Sphere" is some sort of floating continent...

Where exactly did all the Trash came from in the floating continent? since it's said to be moving, so it doesn't actually cover the entire Earth and is just a moving continent, meaning it has a finite resource... but yet, they continue to make Trash and even have segregation between people with a giant wall in place.

The amount of "Trash" seems to be across the entire Earth, if you add those up, it seems impossible for a moving continent to have that much resource to produce. Especially since apparently the Sphere still moves around and float, how is it even floating in the first place? does it not get affected by all the resources being taken and used and then dumped down to "Earth, aka PIT"?.

Especially judging by how it looks... the Sphere people... doesn't actually have all that much advanced Tech... so it feels like some sort of advanced Grav Drive to float a giant ass continent isn't possible.
