I mean the power system is unique, the setting is interesting, the designs are top tier, the characters are fun. The story isn't amazing but that's still because we're only 11 episodes in and the story is trying to flesh out the characters and world build. An 8 isn't a bad score.

I do think it’s better than those other shows you’ve mentioned, but I’m not really a big fan of either of those, so that doesn’t say much.

If you’ve kept up with it so far then hopefully the rest of the season will hit harder for you (and for me), but even if it doesn’t, being just an okay battle shounen isn’t the worst thing in the world.

To be fair, I give a lot of 8s to anime that many think are mid, so I understand your point. Like I personally gave Dandadan a 7 even though most people give it an 8 or higher. I haven't read the manga but from what I know about the mangaka, she seems very cool. I do hope we get more cool fights because as of now, that's the main thing missing to make this anime an 8.5 for me.
