Oh ofc Konoha misses Satoko, even if it's just for weeks.

Glad to see everyone back in the season finale though, even that Satoko robot. They look like a family together. Satoko and Konoha did turn out to be the most important pair in this anime imo.

Cute, wacky, and wholesome finale. Satoko <3 Konoha.

This was a very good and hilarious show. Hoping for a second season or an OVA.

Shaft made a strong comeback with this one.

With Konoha's mysterious disappearance, and HanaKana's OP song sounding different than the usual...something weird is going on here...

Satoko got her mouth treated by the dentist, and while her life with the Izutsumi sisters is quite eventful, with Marin being the usual and Minato being the experimental girl to test various eye applications on her, it's been 3 weeks since she was gone to do her assassination job, which is quite the elongated time away. No matter, both Satoko and Marin can hold their own weight, until a ninja purser came to scout Satoko out, only for her to use Roboko's eye beam to create havoc all around.

Like a hero awaiting her return, Konoha finally makes it back home, albeit missing an arm, and the tag-team codependency proves why they're still comrades together, plus their phones being killed or drowned in action of their own. Still, for what the both of them went through since the first day they met, it's been quite the journey. And this journey will see them climbing up the ranks once again, but together.

Shaft is back in full force, and NinKoro proves why the studio hasn't lost its flare.

Great final episode.

I never really watched the opening until this episode and the opening sounds SO DIFFERENT. AND I LIKE IT. HOLY CRAP, THE EYE TREATMENT MARIN'S SISTER GAVE TO SATOKO WAS AWESOME. SHE TURNED INTO SANS. I wasn't expecting Konoha to lose an arm this episode but at least she got it stitched back. I'm really glad that Satoko and Konoha really cared for each other this episode. Even with all the flaws Satoko has, Konoha still loves her and thats all it really matters. Just them being happy together while going up the rankings. I'll really miss these two and this whole anime itself, it really was a fun show to watch and it made Thursdays a whole lot better.

Phenomenal show and amazing ending. Loved every minute of it. Direction was on point, characters were lovely, and the humor was top-notch while being offset rather expertly with poignant and heartfelt moments. SHAFT really knows what they are doing, and they've gotten it down to a science at this point. I was wondering when we'd see that last enemy ninja from the ending credits, and I loved how they left her right until the end. I would love, love, love a sequel, but they pretty much tied up all the loose ends rather conclusively.

Well i guess that's the end of our weekly dark humour.
Satoko was always nice to watch and Konoha was interesting.
The other characters had their charm as well.
Still they definitely lived in a very dangerous place with so many killers around.

But the only issue, which I wasn't prepare, was this anime didn't follow the manga script as usual.

In the manga, the original plot, the bunny girl ninja was supposed to be "spared" instead of being killed, her memory was wiped out while in attempt to ambush Leader san, later work as an average worker to promote products. And there wasn't any Marin clones spotted, you know the Marins who were running away from the Ninkoro logo in ED.

Never thought all the dead kunoichi were replaced with halos instead of leaves in ED.

It was kind of fun, but I gotta admit I was kind of dragging myself through it—mostly because Konoha treated Sakato like she was nothing. But I’m glad they’re getting along now; I really liked that development.

This event should show Satoko the value of having effective backups. Dental assassiates is such an memorable name for the local dentist. Minato is as crazy as ever. Three weeks is a long time to be absent from school though. Roboko beam sure was a scary power. Nice to see Konoha return. But that fight really showed how weak Satoko was in single combat. Marin's trapped in sister hell lol. Poor Kanon. If she simply struck without announcing herself she might have had a chance. Be nice to see a s2 for this.

This is definitely my AOTS (Anime Of The Season) and the only series that has any chance of coming close to it is To Be Hero X.
I've never seen a show go through so many well designed characters like they never existed.
And on top of that, they have managed to make me care about them when it was needed, with just a few simple scenes and details.
And on top of that, they also made me worried weather the invincible main character that killed all of them would survive their mission.
Many series these days stick to a preestablished formula, or only teak it slitghly, so it's rare to find a show that feels so confident doing it's own thing.
When a show like that has great execution, animation, comedy, drama and direction (mostly), it's hard for me to give it something much lower than a:

Konoha returns at the eleventh hour to save Satoko from the magical bunny girl ninja (apparently her name was Yukari, but I am not sure if that was ever divulged). It really looks like Konoha went through the wars on her sabbatical. She even lost her arm, but fortunately she brought that back with her and Minato was able to attach it without adding extra features.
The reason for Konoha's return was that she was worried about Satoko and as the anime ends we see that the ninja and assassin have grown closer. Also Satoko never did work out if she could reverse her leaf ninjitsu.
Overall I enjoyed this short little series. It was pretty funny at times, especially how they'd introduce the ninja pursuers in all their wonderful and unique variety only to kill them minutes later. Towards the end I think the animation budget was getting stretched thin but they stuck the landing nonetheless.

Well, I think making the eye implants working was a mistake... I mean, in all the episodes, the damage that the heroines received was real, and here they survive the explosion and blow up half the city. In the manga, the implants were just useless toys.

we've reached the final episode. I really enjoyed watching this anime. it's amazing how much Satoko and Konoha's relationship grew throughout the episodes. If you compare Konoha from the first episode to the one in the last, the difference is pretty clear. Overall, it was an anime that gave me a lot of good laughs, and I really hope it gets a second season in the future.

Anime that you may not love for the graphic style, for the choice of colors and for the backgrounds not to scream, but in terms of characters I have no regrets and the time spent watching it I did not mind using it. Too bad it's already finished, I would have liked a longer anime series, I loved the craziness seen in this anime. The plot was nothing transcendental, but the narration flowed away that was a pleasure every time.

*Chef Kiss*... Brillante final.

*Chef Kiss*... Brillant end for this series. SHAFT are masters of their craft adapting this series so much wonderful. Obviously, there were some changes plot related considering getting a S2 will be difficult, because as another poster said above, the bunny ninja suffers a more miserable fate (in the form of memory wipe and getting a job as a bunny girl)... xD

I really, REALLY want them to do an S2 but, considering that the manga is a monthly release and the plot so far isn't really far away, the realistic chances are really low in the short term, but if you tell me there's a chance in like 5 years?... I'll gladly take it in a heartbeat.

PS: For those who want to follow the manga, after this ending, you can read from Ch. 23 onwards.

Wait I could’ve sworn this ended last week! Great finale tho. This last arc completely changed my perception of the show and Konoha, took 9 weeks, but fairs we finally got character and relationship development lol.

I was so worried about Konoha after that cliffhanger last week and while it definitely looks like she went through hell, she came back relatively safe and sound. Having her arm on ice is fucking killing me tho 😭 I think she and Satoko bearing the scars of everything they did for one another is really romantic actually so Satoko keeping the different eye color and Konoha keeping the scars on her arm will forever connect them.

Konoha looked so badass with her ragged and torn outfit I can’t lie. Kinda gave Archer vibes.

Now that they brought it up, I’m curious wtf sort of position Satoko uses the toilet in to be dropping her phone down there all the time lol.

“This is just between us” ok I can’t lie, the ending and post credits scene were soo cute. I wanna know what Konoha told Satoko her reasoning for being an assassin is and I love the animation and Konoha’s smile in the final scene!! Really nice finale and work by SHAFT on this one. Started great, kinda lost me in the middle with Konoha’s behavior and then made me really care about the characters at the end!

For a minute I thought Konoha was in trouble and that Marin and Satoko were going to rescue her, especially considering how this ended in the previous episode but Konoha ended up saving both Satoko and Marin, with one arm too.

I thought that this series as a whole was a good watch but the constant killing was a bit off-putting (how many more assassins can the village afford to send out to go after Satoko and neve return?) Beyond the killings I liked that there was some character development between the 2 FMCs and that Konoha sees Satoko more than just an mother assistant now. Also, the animation and character designs were good.

My Thursdays just got a little emptier... until next week, when we get Dandadan 2.

Ninja and Assassin is my pick for anime of the season. Visuals are amazing, it knows how to toy with the emotions it thinks you have, and contains a healthy dose of prime yuri trash. Hell, it was worth it just to see the first cute kunoichi get bodied and send a certain type of viewer running for the hills when they realize that the show with Assassin in the title has characters actually getting killed. Main weakness of the series is its characters, with Konoha's behavior being easy to hate, and Negative IQ Satoko grating at times. Another absolute banger from Shaft, 9/10. I'll hang this up next to Zetsubou-sensei.

This went from being a f*cked up CGDCT to a wholesome one(?).
Konoha were just using Satoko as nothing but a tool at first, but now she genuinely cares for her, enough to put her own life in the line.
While I think Satoko became kinda scary, like she doesn't think twice anymore about using her technique.

Imagine if Konoha never came back, this would be stuck in my mind for a while lol. Up until the very end I was expecting some kind of a twist where Konoha kills Satoko or something, just because I still can't believe how wholesome it became.
And I guess we never learned what Konoha told Roboko about herself, I like the idea of keeping a secret between the characters that even viewers doesn't know about it (idk about the manga) kinda like Lelouch and CC

Very nice finale.

Ireally hope that people read the SMS, where confirmation that Aoi is alive.
And so a work of art, you can certainly complain about some cut jokes, but I will not, in any case it turned out great, the progress of Satoko's relationship with Konoha, and other characters turned out great, that sisters IzutsumiYu that yuri couple Kuro and Yuriko, a real yuri by the way, not yuri bait.
I would like a second season, especially from this studio, but in any case, the manga continues to come out, the plot is slowly developing, I hope and about Yoshida will not forget, and so a golden ten to this masterpiece.

Well, now we can add Maaya Uchida to the list of seiyuus for disposable characters lol.

“Roboko Beam” gave me one last big laugh xD.

Man, I loved seeing Satoko and Konoha be closer than ever by the end. It's been great to see their relationship develop throughout the series, with the final key being turning Konoha into a baby and raising her...

Anyway, AOTS for me and I can't believe I almost missed it. It was so much fun and so great looking thanks to shaft... I just loved it and I'm going to miss these girls. That said, CGDCT and laughs aside, I don't think anyone expected how emotionally cruel it could be, especially in the early parts. Such a badass here:

Ahh... Future victims never learn...

Konoha: Would you marry me?

Satoko:

Almost. That never happens (I think). Still, come on, look at her face:

I don't remember this. How does she sit on the toilet?

And that was it. They lived happily ever after, Konoha converting them into ketchup, and Satoko converting them into salad.

Also, did you notice that the OP showed us more of the song?

One of the best anime of the season has just wrapped up—it was such a pleasant surprise. I never expected a comedy anime to end up being the most seinen of all the ones I’ve watched these past three months. The yuri moments didn’t hold back either, and the Mazinger Z references with the adorable Roboko were such a treat.

Both the opening and ending themes were insanely catchy. I really hope it gets a second season.
