Damn, Peter Ratri's death was kinda brutal, ngl.

Most of the kids, alongside the sisters and mamas, returned to Earth and seemingly had a decent childhood - which I gather from the various shots at the end of the ep. Emma, Ray, Norman, and the Lambda defects stayed behind to change the demon world alongside Mujica and Sonju. From the ending, it seems they managed to achieve just that. Hooray, I guess.

Aside from all the happiness from achieving their goal, I gotta say that ending was kinda funny. I was fine up until Mujica was being crowned, and then I just burst out laughing. That image of Emma and Mujica tho is screenshot worthy.

I've got mixed feelings about this season as a whole, something I knew would happen considering the score and that I am anime-only. Production-wise it was worse than season 1, and there were fewer impressive uses of camerawork, which is kind of disappointing.

I'll be honest, in the end, I am unsure if any of the cut content would mend that ending or improve upon the narrative. Tbh, I don't plan on reading the manga anytime soon to figure that one out.

I am not gonna make some kind of long meritoric review I'll just tell you what I personally think about it.

first of all the 11 episodes werent enough for me. I mean there were no time for getting deaper into story bc "we need to fit in those 11 episodes". Besides that I actually enjoyed it. Of course it wasn't as good as the 1st season cuz comparing to the first one well this is shit, but hey it's watchable.

The ending was "meh", but I'm still happy they're living like normal people now.

Yeah I don't know what more to say so I personally give it a 7/10
(haven't read the manga yet btw)

First point:
The second half of the episode is very unfitting to the whole atmosphere of the entire show. This is not a happy wholesome show. Its about some very clever kids in a dangerous evil world. Plus its just a summary on the lives of the characters I never cared about. The side kids were IMO annoying and just there to fill up time and childish humour. They are good use as Emmas motivation to keep working, but the kids in the base would have been enough. Instead of letting the group of +/-15 escape in the first season, only let the 4 older kids escape.

second point:
I can't stand the idea, that "yeah you didn't just try to sell us as food, but you actually were selling my siblings as food for years.. But don't worry ☺️, you were good enough at deceiving us back then so we still have the feeling that you are our caring mother".
The mother herself admitted multiple times that she only switched sides because of a shared interest. And same with Ratri who Emma still has compassion for. What did she expect? that he joins them and the test subjects from lambda would just forget their torture ever happened? They would instantly kill him and the crazy girl would cook and eat his limbs.

Third point:
It does not make sense why in the first time the evil blood was discovered it didn't take over the entire demon wold. Its spreads rapidly as seen in this episode (commoners saving them), and it is basically untraceable, as seen in the two friendly demons and the old demon who was living inside that town for 700 years (since the evil demon girl gave him her blood) with nobody noticing him, he ate humans to keep his secret. You can't stop the spread, because a single person is more than enough to infect multiple cities, and no sane demon would avoid drinking it and then they would just keep it a secret to protect themselves and secretly share it with friends and so on. Even the military of the elite, would secretly take a zip of it for their personal gain and never tell anyone.
So basically huge plot hole. of why demons still are needing to eat humans.

I don't know how bad it was in the Manga but as a tach guy, how this pass QA tests? Horrible to the greatest degree. They really made out this ending about Phil for some reason. Also, a slideshow? Seriousely? I'm so disappointed.

Time to rea the Manga I guess.

What the hell was with that huge timeskip at the end? Did they really just show there a bunch of random pictures/montage that was supposed to tell the story of this huge "changing of the demon world" and that was the the end?

I haven't read the manga, but I'm honestly dissapointed. They could at least let some main character die, so there would be a bit of drama.
Literally no one dies in the manga as well. Manga is a 5/10 for me but s2 of the anime is even worse. 3/10. Never watched this much shit in a long time.

This was bad, really, really bad. But come on guys, don't act like if the anime were faithful to the manga it would be better, manga after S1 went downhill and a very few arcs later was horrible and annoying, you all wanted to k!ll Emma so she can just shut up for once and stop crying and saying she want to save everyone, it was soooooooooooooooooooo freaking annoying.
This is waayyy worse than the manga ever was! I agree that the manga goes downhill but damn, season 2 is a whole new level of bad!

There are characters who died in the manga though. Yugo, Lucas, Isabella, Mary, Monica, Jake, and many of the villains such as Andrew, Peter, Geelan, and the demon queen among others all died. I agree that there could’ve been more casualties on the “heroes” side, but to say “literally no one dies in the manga” is just factually wrong.

average ending to a generally disappointing season. Although I heard the manga ending elicits a similar reaction, it just reeks of squandered potential.

Yeah, this show ended too early. Should've gone on for much longer. The manga is 20 volumes, and they decide to finish the adaptation with 2 1-cour seasons. What were they thinking? Season 1 was fine, but Season 2... they skipped so much! There should've been more seasons before reaching the final episode. This is the definition of a bad adaptation.

yeah, agreed! this was the show that made me become a manga reader. Definitely would have needed a good 4 seasons to really tell the full story. I would have taken a Goldy Pond Arc and then cancellation over the "completion" that we got with this season...

First they came for the EreMika shippers, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not an EreMika shipper.

Then they came for the Gabi fans, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Gabi fan.

Then they came for those who loved AOT's ending, and I did not speak out—
    Because I didn't care about AOT's ending.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Manga readers only

1.) Can someone explain me, whose corpse was found by the Monster Grandpa? He got a part of a pen there. Whose corpse is it? Yugo? (ep.9 maybe)

2.) I saw Yugo's notes and helps, but what happened to him? Was he the corpse, did he make it to the humans, died?

3.) We saw Vincent struggling in chess against a blond ill boy. Who was that? Seen in last episode

4.) Emma seems not having to pay a price for the seven walls.

5.) There was a woman playing guitar and getting married. Was that Isabela?

That ending was absolutely hilarious. At first I thought Emma and co staying would be an offensive trashy sequel bait but then they showed slide show of every important moment the anime skipped (except a fucking Goldy Pond of course) over the course of like 1 minute lmao. At times I thought that anime original scenes during the Norman attack are pretty good but those were so few and far between that season 2 should be just forgotten. I feel sorry for animators, voice actors and composers since they had to work on this one. What an utter garbage

Very controversial ending... I'm just confused why they would show so much content like that in 30 secs haha. Season should've ended with Emma deciding not to go through the gate.

What's worse is now anime-only fans like myself have been spoiled. So even if I switch to the manga, I know Emma is bound to reunite with Phil in the human world and have a happy ending.

Apart from that I really enjoyed this season and thought it wasn't worth the hate, despite a few plot conveniences.

Wait so Minerva was fine with children being sacrificed because the ancestors of these kids were people wanting to continue the war? - What does offspring have to do with the choices their ancestors made? - I guess even Minerva was kind of an ass.
The ending ... I like where the story went but to just skip over everything at the end ... felt lazy.

First off, the pacing was way too fast, not even compared to season 1 but just in general.
Everything felt way too convenient, detracting from the mystery the first season had, also meaning there was no suspense what so ever.

You can easily tell after watching this season that it needed at least 1 or 2 more seasons to fully explore this world, it started out alright but then after the first 3 episodes we went from finding a bunker to magically saving the entire world in 8 episodes.
The conflicts were resolved pretty much as fast as they were created.
I wanted more backstory on the Demon King and the demons in general, more stuff on the Ratri clan, the way the farms started, Lambda, more mystery in general.
But instead we got a straight forward story that told us exactly what to think and feel and just as we managed to get a small taste of what's to come after Season 1 it was gone just like that in these 11 episodes.

I wanted to give it a 7/10 because I did have a good time watching it but the more I write my thoughts and realize what it could've been ... I just can't rate it higher than a 6/10
I haven't read the manga but I can easily understand the outrage this season got and I definitely understand the score it has.

What a massive drop in story telling from 1 season to the other, from a masterpiece to just another forgettable season.

The second season as a whole changed many things from the manga, which in and of itself isnt always bad, but in this case it is. Not only did they remove important plot elements, they forgot to replace them with other anime only elements, which made this season feel empty

Honestly not as bad as i was expecting from all the people saying it was bad.
It's not great,  it's not good but it's not as bad as people make it to be.
I didn't read the manga and i'm about to do it but watching the anime first, i doubt my view will change all that much.

Janky pacing, has more plot convenience than Demon Slayer, no new characters introduced that are remotely interesting (because they removed them from the original manga), inconsistent characterization, and we get a rushed ending with a slideshow. They butchered a solid manga, unbelievable, the ending should be at least covered in season 3 but the producers probably saw TPN as a liability and threw it away with a rushed second season.

In conclusion, I will gaslight myself to believe that this season didn't exist; it is a figment of my imagination, I merely looked at my screen for roughly 4 and a half hours. The series ended with the first season.

WHAT?! WHAT!!!

The human side is huge cities with completely modern technology with planes and such?! WHAT?!

DO YOU NOT SEE WHY THIS IS A PROBLEM?!

"Oh yea, we can't go conquer the other half of the world because 1000 years ago we made a promise to feed children to wild animals."
THIS

The entire logic of this world has completely fallen apart; not that it hasn't already with all the GOD MIRACLE CONVENIENCES...

At least when it was the idea of like either this is a demon world, or demons invaded and enslaved humanity, at least that works.
Now the world is literally, "oh yea, we have no problem with the child farms happening a few miles from where we live, its fine..."

Hell, let's even drop the morality angle
"Oh look, there is literally half the planet in basically undefended tribal villages with just spears and a few rifles we probably sold to them since the series has basically proven that the demons don't have manufacturing, let's go conquer it for resources!"
-- "But sir, 1000 years ago, we made a promise we couldn't"
"LITERALLY LOL. K. A conquerer here we go."

Nearly after 3 years, I rewatched season 2 specifically of Promised Neverland just to remind myself how bad it was and yep, it is still the most bullshit season of anime I've ever experienced. Might be one of the few seasons that deserve a negative rating (and the original season is one of my favorite anime lol). Watching this weekly was bad, but binging it all after a few years altogether is somehow much worse and issues are more and more noticeable. Plot points either completely skipped over illogically, volumes upon volumes of content being condensed to a PowerPoint presentation like bullet points frame by frame, over-reliance of conveniences when the first season's content was so intricate with its details, stripping away any source of tension that the first season masterfully did to have everything be solved so easily and quickly without any ounce of struggle... this is an incredible masterpiece of pure failure. Character arcs for Norman, Isabella and many more, absolutely wasted. Final antagonist... barely got a couple seconds to establish anything as a character. Art and direction... completely meaningless and hollow. 3 years later and still unreal a show that had such a great first season got treated like this with the source material lol.

It does help that unlike in 2021, I had expectations of failure rewatching this and nothing more but it is just incredible to see something like this exist. No wonder the original season and this season has the largest gap I think between seasons from the same franchise. The last few minutes legit felt like two-three seasons were in there before the 'satisfying climax to the journey'. What a joke.
