I checked out the provided songs from your comment. I definitely felt closer to Destination of the journey than Hadaka No Yusha, but they are not really my type of songs. As you pointed out these are more emotional, slower paced songs.

I tried to find an appropriate artist from my collection with similar songs. The closest I could think of is Reona. I am not sure if you know her already. She has really nice voice imo. I was thinking of either Nainai, which is the outro song of Shadows House’s first season or Heaven in the Rain, that is the 2nd outro of Shangri-La Frontier.

I usually prefer more “high energy”, “over-the-top” songs. Here are some examples.

i really like aimer, so i would suggest ref:rain and of course brave shine. as for anime music i also love kickback from chainsaw man, all aot openings (especially 2 and 7) and 91 days op.

i'm really into rock and metal, but these days i play headlock and to ashes and blood (from arcane) on repeat

One of my favorite songs is "The Lake and The River" by The Dear Hunter (a totally underrated band).
I really love the strong vocals and the story in the song; you can listen to it on its own, or as a part of the narrative told throughout their albums. The instruments used also hook me in so hard, I listen to this song on loop for hours at a time.

@hydrangeyeah I would recommend the song I Love you like an alcoholic by The Taxpayers as the song can also be enjoyed on it's own or part of the greater narrative of the album and the lyrics and I feel like the vocals and instruments have a similar vibe

As for me, one of my favorite musicians is Tommy Heavenly6 so similar music to her work would be great. I love the energetic blend of pop rock and punk :D

@haskellith since you like rock and metal, I wanna assume you aren't fundamentally against punk either and am using you as an excuse to plug Speed, a song by Berlin-based band Atari Teenage Riot, who pioneered a Hardcore Punk and Electronic hybrid genre called Digital Hardcore:





For my part, I find I wanna try and listen to more Country, a genre I tend to snob, so would like yall's reccomendations.

@dhrvrathre first song that came to mind, its not city pop, but 80's era idol music should not be ignored, Naoko Kawai is one of my personal favorites :)
