That was an amazing final ep, props to Durarara for getting it done. I'd probably also relate this simply to how many series it had to really develop the story and characters to get to this point, and man am I glad they did. I loved seeing the conflict between Masaomi and Mikado and I liked the hopeful and open-ended ending for this Wow, an anime with an open ending that I actually didn't mind!

Fun show, might rewatch the entire series later if I feel like it, but man I'm gonna miss Durarara T^T
... Welp I guess that's my cue to go and finish Baccano xD

Eh it was alright.
Not much room to complain but it was very anticlimactic.
I don't necessarily dislike the way the episode went I just dislike the events that happened.

Still good 7/10.

Okay. This anime is one of the best things I have ever watched, yep. I'm so attached to it that I really feel bad it's over and that I won't be getting more of the Ikebukuro drama... my heart aches.
I'm really happy at the ending and everyone is finally getting over the things that happened.

BUT WAIT! AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO LOVES IZAYA SO FUCKING MUCH?? I KNOW HE'S THE BAD GUY AND ALL BUT HE'S AMAZING AND UNPREDICTABLE! I DON'T WANT HIM TO DIE! ANS I HOPE HE ISN'T SUPPOSED TO.. IT'S UNCLEAR AND I'M FRUSTRATED!!

A few more characters didn't get an ending either! Shijima? Rokujo?

I'll try to get over thw trauma of the fact that it's over and accept it without watching the whole series all over again... I'll try.....

Durarara was one of the first shows I started watching when I first got into anime so it holds a somewhat special place for me. Glad to have a conclusion after all these years, although I will miss the show until SH gets adapted, if it does~
I have to say though that I wouldn't have expected the show to end or progress as it did from how it began earlier on in Season one. Thank you, Durarara.

I enjoyed the first season, but being disappointed by the second half, I was never its biggest fan. I decided to watch x2 hoping it could get back to what I saw in the first half of S1. 36 episodes later and it only ever amplified all of the problems I had with the second half, while creating more.

I think my biggest issue with this series has always been the overabundance of characters, of which there were far more here than in S1. It ensured that very few actually received development and some didn't even get endings to their stories. I think the worst thing is that on a grand scale, very little has changed from S1 to this ending. Izaya giving up and leaving is about it and that's easy enough to retcon. The majority of the characters may have seen some progress in their relationships, but overall are still in the same place they were when they were introduced.

5/10 for x2 as a whole. I think I'll pass on any further sequels.

I'm going to confess something, I absolutely hate the cheesy romance between Celty and Shinra. At first, when I began watching this series a few years ago, I thought it was interesting and touching. However, as it progressed and Celty, a strong headless rider started melting into your typical Anime, smitten shoujou-esque character, I began to abhor her relationship with Shinra. I love them as individuals and I know that their relationship with one another is also important to the story but I can't find myself sighing or squealing with joy whenever they're together, if anything, I'm more inclined to roll my eyes and skip their interactions.

As much as I hate Izaya, I felt somewhat sorry for him when the bastard could barely stand up by himself. At least now, he's somewhat scared of Shizuo. Trauma, bitch.

Mikado getting stabbed like a fish with a dinner knife, goddamn boy.

Takashi... oh well...

Akabayashi, I could watch an entire series based on that man alone. Honestly speaking, he's one of the reasons, other than my usual bias: Shizuo, why I so hooked on this show.

....Didn't like this season i'm afraid, ending felt really rushed. I've just been completely confused for a while about Mikado's development, seemed very strange to me.
I totally agree with you, Mikado's intentions were very confusing. I feel like I've just run around in a big circle and nothing has really changed.

Shinra and Celty are still together and they don't have to worry about Celty's head anymore.
Izaya and Shizuo tried to kill each other but failed as usual.
Mikado, Kida, and Anri are united again like they were in the first season.

There are a great deal of things I want the answer to but will never know. Like, where Celty was going before Shinra stopped her. And if there were more of Celty's kind. Also, Izaya hyped up Mikado so much and I wanted to atleast see his reaction to Mikado's master plan.

Nah your not the only one who loves him, everyones relationship to that character is a love/hate relationship because you hate him because he is the villain but love him because hes pretty much most of the reason the show exist.

How...HOW DID IZAYA SOMEHOW SURVIVE? He's pissed off SO MANY people, and yet, he somehow managed to survive. I really thought that he would eventually be killed.

I'm going to miss this one. I'm especially going to miss Celty, Anri, Erika and Shizuo. You can't really say there's one main character of Durarara, but I'd say Celty is the central character of the story. And I think this final episode confirmed it. In a sense, she's kind of the spirit of the mysterious city that is Ikebukuro in Durarara. Throughout this series' run, so many events surrounded her.

Seemed like an okay ending for most of the characters. I would have liked some more details, but what are you going to do.
Nasujima sure got a nasty end. Oh, boy. I'm actually surprised the car didn't kill him in the first place.

One big thing I'm disappointed about is the lack of screen time for Izaya's sisters. They were a lot of fun, so it's a shame they weren't around too often.

Overall, Durarara was a great ride. I've been watching this show for a long time and, honestly, I didn't expect it to get three cours after its first run, but it was a pleasant surprise. Go anywhere on the internet, and you'll always see complaints on how Baccano never got a 2nd season, but Durarara did, and how Durarara didn't deserve it. But I think that does a disservice to Durarara. It's a different beast of its own, and Narita's wonderfully creative narrative is always a lot of fun to witness, no matter the show. Baccano might be one of my favorite anime of all-time, but I'm glad Durarara got another season, and I'm grateful they were able to tell the entire story.

The finale was pretty anti climatic in a lot of ways although I think that comes down to the fact that way too many characters were introduced in X2 so there wasn't enough screen time for all the characters to shine.

Anime is good, fucking deal with it.

Can anyone help me understand the Hollywood Arc?

As far as I got it, Yodogiri Jinnai hired Ruri to be an idol and then did crazy occult stuff to her like cutting her open. She became Hollywood and killed people involved as revenge. But...at the end of this episode, Kasane sent her stalker to jail and said that she would not let Ruri atone for her crimes. I don't really get it. And since Yodogiri was just a cover for Kasane herself, doesn't that mean that Kasane was involved in like...everything related to Ruri? But an earlier episode said they were like...half sisters or something, right? Can someone break it down for me? XD

She was just being tsundere for Ruri. She wouldn't let Ruri get revenge on her stalker herself because she said she was jealous of her, but it was just her saving Ruri's ass at the end. Ruri's been put through a lot in her life, and I'm sure Kasane feels guilty for a lot of it.

I was worried that this episode would be scatterbrained and underwhelming since Durarara has quite a big and complex cast to build a show around with, I thought that I would only be setting myself up for disappointment. But I'm happy with how it all wrapped up.

For me none of the sequels lived up to the first season.
None of them were bad by any means , however they didn't have the initial charm of the first season.
7.5 Out of 10 for me , rounded up to 8/10 for now , but will probably drop my score to 7/10 at a later stage.

My disappointment is that vorona spoiled the fight between izaya and shizuo. This was a fight that was 6 years coming but she butted in like an ass.All shizuo had to do was walk away,he already won so he didnt have to take izaya taunts about being a monster. As an izzy fan i have to give it up for him being so brave to face a battle like that,so one sided,i mean you stab the guy ,run him over, shoot him and blew him up how do u even beat a thing like that,it was a losing battle anyway.love u to bits izzy

Damn... that is it?
I'm dissapoiting... It's not due to everyone stayed alive, but I was expecting much more.. how things turned out were pretty... cheap.

I really liked the previous seasons, but this one dissapointed me compared to the others.

Well, don't know If I rate this show with a 6 or 7... Decided: giving it a 6/10

PS1.: Throwing away Celty's head after such a long battle to find it was like throwing away a big part of everything I've watched of Durarara.
PS2.: Damn! I was expecting to see those hilarious twin sisters so much but they didn't get 1 sec of screen time?! =/

DRRR ended and i still don't know what aoba really wanted. I remember that before he appears in DRRR some characters said that he was badass and stuff like that, but in the end i know almost nothing about his true desires.

What izaya wanted with celty's head? Just manipulate her? Because i was expecting that her head would help him to achieve sth important.

And what about that girl that is a fighter. I have no idea why she appeared in the first place. Why she was working for izaya?

IMO this series got lost when they decided to introduce a lot of useless characters, instead of develop all the good ones that we saw in season 1.

Disappointing season and disappointing ending.

Mikado's character was pretty much ruined for me (like hell shit's gonna be normal after he screwed so many people over and tried to take the easy way out), Celty's a tragic case of Stockholm syndrome thanks to the selfish creep that is Shinra, Niekawa's dad never found his psychotic daughter but instead got a text and overall it felt rushed. Like the way they handled the stalker, completely forgot about the guy since the last time we saw him was at the end of S2 but then they just randomly bring him back in the last few minutes.

I was also never a fan of the Saika subplot, sure it was pretty cool in S1 due to its creepiness but after that it was just used as a convenient way to throw a few twists. Using hypnosis/mind control as a means to get things done gets old quick especially how easy it is for Saika to take control by just cutting someone.

Other than that, probably more but I've forgotten, I'm still very glad and thankful that they decided to adapt the rest of DRRR. Although Ketsu was a bit lackluster, Shou and Ten were pretty great overall. Hopefully we'll get to see a continuation of the Baccano! adaptation eventually :)

What a great ending, seems like everyone lives happily ever after especially Shinra with celty, but one thing that is unfortunate, Varona went back to Russia that's a bummer, i was hoping that Varona can stay in Ikebukuro and i'm pretty sure Shizuo-senpai will notice her xD.

And how in the heaven's name Mikado survived after that Takashi dude stabbed him many times ? He's the luckiest man alive not only that he survived but Anri loves him as well.

Overall score 9/10, will be missed of course

Good ending. Would have liked to see Izaya finally get his and die, but I guess that will be coming once he gets out of time. Mikado, I always had an issue with him so not sure I want to see him die but be on the brink of death...which we got. But his, I'm going to kill myself as a way to end all the trouble I caused was stupid.

Shizuo my favorite. Enjoyed see what became an nice relationship between him and Varona. The better of the 3. Sad that it's ending but no upset how they ended it. 8/10

This ending was just perfect to me. Every character got the ending they deserved (Especially Nasujima, that son of a bitch). This has gotta end up on my most satisfying endings list. It went over my usual standards, and created such a lovely ending to the franchise. Now I just gotta wait for SH if they make it, but I actually kinda hope they don't since this ended...well, perfectly.

Can't believe after so long Durarara is finally over. I remember first seeing it back on Adult Swim years ago, and now here I am, just witnessing its finale. I love everything about Durarara; it's setting, lore, characters, music, tone, and just about everything else.

Well everything wrapped up nicely. I'd like to have seen what Izaya was going to do next. But at least he's alive.

Verona x Shizuo for the win, pretty much canon after that goodbye!

I actually completely forgot about Ruri Hijiribe. They kind of dropped the ball when it came to her. Other characters they dropped hard were Izaya's sisters. Sure, they were in the chat every so often, but that was it.

Mika and Seiji are lunatics, they're actually leaving for Chicago to chase after Celty's head. I really hate those two.

The dub for this season was phenomenal, from acting to writing, I just adored it. Great work Aniplex. The ending itself feels satisfying. Of course, I'd always love to see more too. Ketsu was by far the best of the three new seasons. Thanks for the memories Durarara!! It was a hell of a ride. You'll always be one of the greats! 9/10

Was meh. Mikado's subplot was quite meh, and hated how Celty's status quo is maintained. Of coooourse the head gets lost again, and no change at all, in the end. That's boring. Of course, Izaya keeps living too, and in the end, nothing really changed.

Overall, this season was still fine to watch, because Varona's subplot wasn't bad, Shizuo was awesome as always, Celty's true form was quite cool, as well as that Kusanagi girl.
Still, leaves me unsatisfied overall. 6-7/10 in terms of entertainment. The first season of x2 is still the best.

It left me pretty salty after (FINALLY) finishing it earlier, but I guess there was some kind of resolve to it. The whole thing with Mikado made me rage a lot, especially Celty's situation (AND SHE STILL LOST THE HEAD ANYWAYS), but I admit the brawl with Izaya and Shizuo was priceless.

That was an awesome finale. While the first half of the season was kind of slow (but still very good), the second half was amazing, the best season since the first one.

Also, lol at Shizuo throwing Shinra. That visual was hilarious.

uau., Celty save life of mikado!
So very surprise Celty redeem all the consequences of their appearance in ikebukuro.
I Shinra that scene playing was so afflicted as the very Celty. I'm relieved everything is fine, but a little sad farewell for the Celty. The surprise see Shinra and Celty together again.
Mikado serious hurt. Don't like this teacher and Niekawa, but this characthers have good final.
So very surprise of aparittion of Ruri hijiribe on final, finally kasane he did something good.
I so little shipping vorona and Shizuo. Vorona so strong and strongly linked for shizuo. But that's my expectative and not reality. So little happy Kadota managed to revalidate the trampling.
I was hoping to Anri would be mad at Mikado because he was hurt because of it, but she did well quietly.
Geral form I liked the final.
So little furious because player crunchyroll broken the 30 seconds the final of episode. But I could fix that watching the final on another site.

Wow... after spilling that much blood Mikado is still alive.

=/ Still bummed that Celty still doesn't keep her head after looking for it for like what? 3 seasons? Then she loses it and stays with Shinra. Tbh, I didn't really like many of their characters due to the lack of character development and numerous characters appearing and disappearing.

I really liked the first season of the anime, but I felt detached with the characters towards the end.
