| Jesus frick one of the most epic episodes yet. "I have no enemies" froze the entire episode for a moment. Then Canute's goal is so huge that it froze the episode again. |
| 100 punches? That must've hurt. Even if Drott was gradually losing his stamina with each next punch at some point, his fists must've been heavy to the bitter end (excluding the last punch, perhaps). Hmm, quite unusual take on king Canute and the tide anecdote. Sure, it had core elements of that tale, but I feel mentioning "muh rebellion against god who abandoned people" was unnecessary. In the context of Canute talking about his vision of paradise, and with having his views on Christianity and pagan beliefs in mind, it's hard to imagine him doing something like that in real life. Even if we'd assume that said anecdote was actually a historical fact. Oh well, perhaps the original author is not a huge fan of Christianity. At least it was moderately enjoyable to watch, that Canute's speech, I mean. I wonder what's happened with Pater. He was a good lad. I hope he survived somehow, but at the same time something tells me that he might've been stacked with the rest of fallen peasants' corpses. :( |

| Ok, now that was cool Thorfin the absolute legend this episode is so well made especially because it recognizes what was happening all throughout the anime. It really goes in-depth on human life and people killing each other. A lot of anime just ignore this factor but I consider it an extremely important aspect that a lot of anime just continue to ignore. |
| Man, what a stand off. Canute is making a lot of contradictions in his statement everytime he opens his mouth to say something. Or maybe bro got his definitions mixed up. |
| I feel like the Canute commanding the waves to stop was a disappointment. In the historical version, he did this to demonstrate that God was almighty; it was a reprimand to his fawning courtesans for daring to consider him almighty. After failing to stop the tide, he supposedly hung his gold crown on a crucifix and never wore it again, so as to honor God as the almighty king. This scene in history was a great moment of humility, a king purposefully demonstrating his own weakness in order to express his faith. The anime version has it as him declaring some sort of rebellion against God. That the Vikings were abandoned, and he was fighting to save them. Of course this makes no sense from a religious perspective, since Canute's god will accept all of them so long as they repent their sins, but even worse is that this completely destroys the meaning of his failure to stop the waves. |

| Thorfinn survived that challenge. And he didn't strike back once. It doesn't get more masculine than that. That is what I believe true masculinity is about. I strive to be like Thorfinn. Thorfinn finally said it! "I have no enemies" Even though I'm against what Canute is doing, he ain't wrong in what he was saying. His words do hold some reasoning to them. |

| Thorfinn is a different man, he’s in a whole different level than us mere moral lol They’re not even excited anymore, I like how they show that. “Thorfinn, son of Thors” “You are a true warrior” he has done it “You are not my enemies” “I have no enemies” he has achieved it guys, he’s a true warrior. They have the same eyes, and interesting it was him that made him a slave. The waves said no. Canute as always has the best speeches. |

| I took a 3.5 month hiatus from this when Final Fantasy XVI came out because inertia propelled Vinland Saga out of my life; I returned to this now fully expecting to be utterly disengaged, as I always am when I return after a long break. 13 minutes I'm already weepy. | Man, he's such a badass for someone who got beat up. Thorfinn is fckn cool. Normally I hate this kind of character who doesn't fight back when needed to, but this one is very convincing. The author handled his characters so fckng well. |

| Somebody has to kill Canute! He's driving me mad! But how is that going to happen when the eliminator I wanted is Thorfinn? Man...I cried so bad when the guy kept punching Thorfinn and even the King's guards were speechless, showing their respect for him. I don't think I've counted the times I cried watching Vilang Saga Season 2. |

| PEAKLAND SAGA MASTERPIECE OST THORFINN KARLSEFNI THE GOAT This is my favourite scene out of everything that this arc has to offer and seeing it in this adaptation, I can say that it's flawless. Thorfinn has become such a selfless individual, though he lived his past 4 years as a slave, he does not forget the kindness and the second chance that he has been given to live anew and find a new reason to look forward to. For that he'd go as far as taking a beating of 100 hits for the slim chance of being able to talk to Canute who may not even agree to his request in the first place. Nevertheless... The greatest quote of the this season still remains... "You are not my enemies... I have no enemies." Such is the growth of Thorfinn who has come so far these past 4 years. The same can be said of Canute. If anything, you could say these two men are parallel to one another, they have their own grand dream of a paradise on Earth. Thorfinn's being Vinland and Canute's being the transformation of North Europe into his utopia. Same goals with different executions. |
