Because it's been only three days since the royal election and Emilia parting ways with Subaru. A month is 30 days, so around 4 to 5 weeks. 30 days make 4 weeks and 2 days mate. Adding an additional week of Subaru being healed in Crusch's place after getting beat up by Julius and training with Willheim doesn't seem all that much. I wasn't exaggerating here, just estimating the time gone by based on plot. ^Yeah like I said you should stop pulling stuff out of thin air. The pic is from episode 14 by the way. Question, was it on the next day that they went to town to see the apple guy? Or did a bunch of stuff like Curschs talk with Subaru also happen then? Your screen shot does nothing to indicate the events that happened before or afterwards. *sigh* Yes it was the next day that they went to the town. You can also just rewatch the episode to confirm these stuff you know? So how much time has actually passed before he got his ass beat by Julius and his arrival at Cruschs place before those three days of sulking? And after his day with Rem (day 4 at Crush's place) how long did it take for him to organize his offer to her about the White Whale? Stop acting like every thing he did was instantaneous mate. LN readers, would love for you to weigh in. Just how long was it in real time between his getting dumped in the capital by Emilia and his negotiation offer? I highly doubt it was less than 5 days. I am not a LN reader, but the anime has given us the exact time the whale will appear. Let's use Subaru's third loop in the capital as an example, episode 17. He always starts his loops on the fourth day in the capital, he then goes to Crusch that evening to negotiate for her help, which ends up failing. The next day he goes to Priscilla and later on meets Anastasia, he then tells Rem they have to leave right after he's been tricked by Anastasia. We're now on the fifth day and that night, the whale appears. This is different from the first time they try to get back to the mansion where they leave on the sixth day, after the whale has appeared, and they have to take the detour, and the second loop where they leave on the fourth day, the loop where Subaru is a vegetable, and they arrive before the whale appears. Which brings us back to the current loop. We now know that the whale will appear on the fifth day, which means he uses the fourth day to reject Rem, contact Anastasia and Fellow, and negotiate with Crusch that very same evening. They then leave as soon as possible on the fifth day and the whale appears that night. And all of that proves what exactly, apart from his phone having an extraordinary battery life? Plus, how much time was between Reinhart's admission of the month time at the elections and Subaru recovering from getting his face stomped by Julius? I highly doubt bruises and lumps that he had when Emilia dumped him would subside in less than a day. His name is Subaru, not Wolverine... I'm not making any arguments about his phone's battery life, just trying to clarify the amount of days that have passed. Believe it or not, all of that happens on the same day. Blame healing magic or whatever you want. It was explained in episode 4 that superficial injuries are relatively easy to heal. Thanks for your clarification, unlike some around these parts who can't take mature discussions and resort to petty name calling. Z4k said: L-Ryoshi said: And all of that proves what exactly, apart from his phone having an extraordinary battery life? That the negotiation was completed on the 4th day and that his phone doesn't have an extraordinary battery life. Rem made her speech at dusk, the negotiations with Cursch were at dusk, AND Rem had to go inform Anastasia and the Trade guild representative before talking to Cursch. All that happened on the same day? I think not. That said, the difference is between one month and a week and one month and 5 days. The basis of your argument is so minuscule that I'm starting to find you silly. Pray do explain just how an old phone that lasts for over a month without ever being charged, even when it gets used at random intervals, does not have extraordinary battery life? |

someone comparing it to real one, if he/she telling its magic, the talk already over i guess (battery phone talk) and we can move to another topic (o`・ω・´)o Ty-Ki said: The phone is the holy grail for the haters. That is the way to go Subaru! I wonder how many of the people who are bitching that he's whiny would have shats their pants in the same situation. Kinda disappointed in this episode, was looking forward to some hard negotiations but everything was solved smoothly in about 5 minutes. Not to mention things like subaru offering mining rights he has no business offering or the merchant candidate helping even with his terrible rep which she criticized last run. |

IKr that scene was so cute OQ: I loved this episode. Finally, Subaru is regaining his senses. FYI apparently episodes leading up to episode 18 were only prologue. The scene with the White Whale was so chilling. Can't wait for the next episode. |

Better episode than the last one (18th), at the end when Subaru's phone ringed I kinda hoped that White Whale didn't showed up and everyone will beat Subaru's ass...but nah...it showed up and ”fun things are fun” will be next week...9/10 for this episode....8/10 for all 19 episodes |

Rem and the dragon stare was so cute plus the positivity in whole episode and like the time when Subaru and Rem run towards the white whale was sooooo cool like Gaaaaaaah! (again><) my inner self is so pumped.. It's just unbelievable.... Plus am I the only one who thinks it is a bit related to fma brotherhood (like sloth and gluttony etc)and stein;gate (crazyness and hyped sh*t)!!! |

Subaru? More like Leeroy Jenkins. They didn't even bother placing some guards with him. Even Eren got some guards when he was used as a bait. |

I don't think anything would've been changed, even if he had been calm during ep 16, he would've most likely decided that it'd be a good idea to try the short route first...which screwed him over in ep 17, then in 18. Without spoiling, from the spoilers I've read, something will happen that may screw Subaru over emotionally. I kinda got a, "THIS! IS! SPARTA!" vibe. |

Given all that and the fact that he turns it on and off at times during the month he's been here, snaps photos for Felt and others to see, and all of that, just how much charge would be left on his phone? One day in a fantasy world doesn't have to be equal to normal world's 24 hours 2. The air contains magical substance that retains battery charge longer - it was unintentionally charged by the witch's miasma / felix's & emilia's healing / subaru's shamac etc basically, magic reasons 3. It's already been established that the day and night cycles between the worlds are opposite (It was night in the real world when Subaru was teleported, but day in the fantasy world). But like I said, I feel like something like this would be observed by Subaru, given for this to work on any impactful level, it would drastically affect his sleeping schedule. |

The phone has a feature that converts kinetic energy to electricity (forgot the exact name but i know it exists) I applaud your thinking outside of the box for 2 and 3, but unless we get any confirmation from the Author/LN readers, both of those theories remain just that. Same goes for 1, and even if a day in this fantasy world was only 23 or 22 hours in Earth hours, you would only shirk off about a day or two of time off the charge. It's still an active phone after an entire month of usage (heavy or light we have no idea, but he does use it) without recharging. Like I said before, that's still a long ass battery charge for an old phone. Also, from what I've been able to glean thus far, the theory of self recharging phones popped up in 2009, and that phone model that Subaru has does not seem like anything made in the last half decade. If you are talking about converting kinetic energy into electricity, they do do something similar in self-winding watches (expensive high end ones mostly), but from what I know, no such technology has been applied to phones yet. |

Late into the game, gg internets. Wow, i called it big time (too lazy to find my previous episode posts). Conveniently they all happened to be preparing for the White Whale in order to kill it, which had suddenly shown in the plot as the unstoppable force in the way of Subaru. Obviously pre-planned because of the arms and transportation gathering, but still mightily convenient. It makes sense logistically though, Subaru was too busy being tunnel-visioned that he didn't notice this all happening. Seems like the witch that gave Subaru the return by death was at least partially benevolent after all. Very cruel methodology, but in the end, anyone with any brain giving that would know that Subaru would learn and get crafty eventually. That is unless the intention is despair, but it doesn't seem that way. It behaves like it's a dirty secret between the witch and Subaru, like a demon pact. "Love at first sight" lol. A new rival has appeared. |

Anna helped him because Subaru gave her information she wanted which was what Crusch had been up too. Ah yes, it's watch-exclusive technology.. sumimasen & thanks for confirming. TBH I was in "pulling stuffs out of thin air" mood when I wrote them.. a proven useful habit when tackling school exams back in my old days :D Guessing on exams proves to be useful? Hasn't worked for me. |

Finally, some real action and battle... thank goodness. They could have done so without the little overtone drama but.. Oh well, Subaru couldn't think straight with all the trauma anyhow. Keeping calm and using his death to his advantage is easier said than done. Rem still the best, this series is dead without her. It's time for some badass war. |

If @Ninjasander is correct (as his screencap and the subbing team leads us to believe), he's been here for about a month. Also, given that he was out at the store, I do not expect his phone to be at full charge when he made the jump to this new world. Given all that and the fact that he turns it on and off at times during the month he's been here, snaps photos for Felt and others to see, and all of that, just how much charge would be left on his phone? The phone was at full charge when he was transported to the other world in episode 1. No, it's just been a month. Stop pulling stuff out of thin air. How is including the time between when Reinhart said those words in the screen cap and the current day of this negotiation considered as pulling stuff out of thin air? A month is 30 days, so around 4 to 5 weeks. Adding an additional week of Subaru being healed in Crusch's place after getting beat up by Julius and training with Willheim doesn't seem all that much. I wasn't exaggerating here, just estimating the time gone by based on plot. And I wasn't kidding about wanting his phone either. Possibilities: 1. One day in a fantasy world doesn't have to be equal to normal world's 24 hours 2. The air contains magical substance that retains battery charge longer - it was unintentionally charged by the witch's miasma / felix's & emilia's healing / subaru's shamac etc basically, magic reasons 3. About that Subaru's phone battery life problem... am I missing something? Subaru only used his phone to take a couple of pictures in the first arc, to use the lantern to see the white whale and right after that to see the time, which never happened cause of the reset, and to set the alarm in this episode which was the longest that phone was seen to be turned on. Not to say those old phone's batteries last way more than the new ones and I know that by experience. I don't understand why wouldn't that battery be able to survive for several months given the almost no use it gets xD Edit: He also used it to run from Rem when she was trying to kill him. Also never happened, so it doesn't really matter xD |

Old phones can last a month How do you know it was turned on all the time? No network = longer battery life Not convinced it's been a month Are you seriously going through this again? First off, how old are you? Have you ever handled actual older generation phones? Or are you taking things out of thin air again like some are doing? 1.) Old flip phones if in regular use (meaning they will be on stand by mode, but if turned on all the time) will last between 3 Days to about a week with no recharging on a full battery. It's ridiculous for anyone to suggest that old phone batteries would last a month with constant regular use. Even whilst turned off completely the phone will continue to draw on the battery to maintain certain internal functions like the clock and alarm settings. 2.) We don't know if the phone was turned on all the time, but we do know that Subaru takes the phone out on occasion to show its functions to people. This is basically the source of the entire discussion: Whether an old phone with little usage that is turned off on occasions is actually able to last for a month without battery recharge. This makes your first claimed sentence look quite silly if you ask me, since you don't even seem to be aware of the discussion and yet butt your opinion in anyway. So far, just one person here with actual experience with phones of that era has claimed it can, though given he seems to be from the military I would bet their equipment were more properly maintained than your average Joe's phone. 3.) Not sure that's been scientifically proven, but it sounds plausible. The question is, how long would it add to a phone that was on? From a one week battery life to say 10 days? For sure a phone without network that was turned on the entire time wouldn't last you more than two weeks. I've done plenty of simulations with old Nokia phones without sim cards turned on for the entirety of a two week period, the phone ran out of juice before my business trip was over and I was forced to recharge it to keep using it. There's also the issue of just how long he's had the phone and whether he's been properly maintaining the phone, because if he's had the phone for several years, the battery might not work as well as a new battery, which would also shave time off the battery charge. 4.) Plenty of LN readers have already confirmed about the time frame. It was a month when Reinhard said so at the election. It's been a month since he picked up Felt in the slums was what was said. The discussion was how much time has passed between the elections and where we are currently at, and the viability of the phone still working as of this time. Perhaps you should get your facts straight before butting in on others discussions |

hm so how do people remember the whale if it has some sort of "death perception" amnesia effect on those it comes in contact with? also seems a bit wierd for suburu's phone to still be working. suburu really must not have been in that world for very long. obviously each death instance wouldnt consume energy on his phone but it seems a little contrived. |

That would explain why it was night when he encounters the whale but his phone read 15:13, 3:13pm. Again that would only make sense if his phones clock was working at a similar system in the fantasy world as our 24 hour one. |
