Been progressing more of less as i anticipated thus far, though i didn't expect all of them to go down. This puts it in the spot of being too dire, and sort of pulled the intensity out of it.

Escaping this predicament is so improbable that only deus ex machina level resolution will conceivably resolve it, or we get one of those moral pep talk victories where Shido wins with the power of goodness etc.

I would have been more impressed if they pulled the more bold move of having Mio show up in front of Shido after he failed to stop Westcott, and Mio just erasing Westcott because he was in her way making it a total rug-pull. It's still clear that Mio is the most dangerous entity in the story up to this point, regardless of Westcott's knowledge or abilities.

Scenarios like this put their stakes higher if the protagonists are actually able to do something but fail regardless due to overwhelming advantage. For example Gungnir should have been written to injure her at least. And at least a few of them get away to truly comprehend the hopelessness of their scenario...
...plus as was made self-aware already with the ridiculous instant death lights:

...though i feel like this is taking pages out of negima (which does these way better)
@GenesisAria

1. Why would Mio show up before Westcott when she is in Ain Soph giving goodbye presents to other spirits? Westcott wasn't in her way at all at that point (he kinda would have been if Shido was a wimp, and that would be a poor story choice), he just had Nia's qlipha crystal which she needed.

I think you mean Shido failing to stop Westcott as a storytelling choice. Well sorry, let's just say with Shin's memories and all the growth upto this point, he's a proper piece in this chessboard.

2. "Gungnir should have been written to injure her". No spirit can harm her with any of their powers, and then you want this Kotori powered canon to injure her? Talk about introducing storytelling inconsistency.

Nia is a manga writer. Her power literally was to write the plot for events in the future. Obviously she's the type to make such remarks. It doesn't need negima (which isn't even original in this) for inspiration. Pretty basic stuff.

It's funny how Westcott had to blindfold Nibeelcole to keep Shido's rizz from bay lol. Well I expected a longer battle between Shido and Westcott at the least but both the battle between the girls and the other ended very shortly and a little let down. Oh well, the Sephirah collection is over now and I wonder what awaits.

The episode started with a funny moment between Kannazuki and Kotori, I like how they added something like that in this situation. Also, the battle between the rest of the girls and Mio ended pretty quickly and Mio didnt even have a scratch after Gunnir, Sandalphon and Einherjar were used.
Westcott came prepared for the harem strat against Nibeelcole but Westcott got defeated in just two moves? I expected a bigger fight but it didn't happen.
Well Shido acutally pulled a Kamehameha lol. Mio has all the Sephirahs now and the war is nearing its end.

Origami's AST team, led by Kusakabe, has successfully landed in Fraxinus amidst the hectic war, though seeing their Captain Kannazuki once again working with Kotori, he's a mainstay lols. Too bad that Kannazuki is seen as the pervertic character, though he can't be disputed as once the top ace of AST. Still though, the subjugation of DEM, as well as Mio, are the top priority to deal with, as both Tohka and Origami are the only Spirits left alive. But even with the help of Ratatoskr, Mio/Reine has collected all the Spirits, including Kotori.

Back to Shido vs. Westcott, the former's kissing technique may have only held to this point, but the latter having Beezlebub and being true Magi to overturn the world and humanity, he's just an average person looking for revenge. The surprise of Natsuki and Miku still being around, Shido has to be extremely wary to attack with unpredictability, and funnily and ironically enough, it has to be a Kamehameha to take him down with the lesser of the Spirits' strength.

The thing is, Mio is still alive, and withh all the Sephirah acquired, Shido is the final hurdle for her to reunite with Shin.

We've lost too many, must protect Kotori 🙏 well she is safe on board Fraxinus while the other spirits need to survive. Probably as safe as you can be, along with the new turncoats which at this point are probably fodder background peeps? What could they do against the Origin Spirit?

Kotori knows how to handle the ship. Kick Kannazuki in the ass, he loves it.

All the spirits falling continues to be sad 😔 not even Origami can live... this is doomsday. The world I never wanted to come to pass. Come on, Kotori didn't deserve this..

The counter to Playboy Shido, blind all the girls XD F Westcott. Playing with hacks is evil as evil comes.

Really gonna keep him alive? F Westcott, but tis the Shidou way. And he's dead now.. that moment was short lived. I don't even want to thank Mio caus she killed everyone else. So F Mio.

Kotori making this face while in her Efreet astral dress is a throwback to season 1 where we first see her as a spirit. This time, Kotori makes this face because she has confirmed that her best friend, Reine/Mio is ultimately trading away all their memories and time together for the sake of achieving her objective of resurrecting Shin in Shido.

Natsumi and Miku come to bail out Shido just when it looked like he was running out of options vs Wescott. Anytime Natsumi gets screentime it's a plus. However, we lost Origami, Tohka, and Kotori to Mio as well, without them putting up much of it fight. This goes to show just how powerful Mio is.

As expected, Origami and Tohka both fall as they give their best vs Mio, all while Fraxinus crashes into Ein Sof, attempting to break in and enter Mio's territory. Kotori also gets her sephira extracted, leaving Miku, Natsumi, and technically Westcott (who has Nia's crystal) left for Mio to reclaim.

At least I can give Shidou credit for powering up by screaming and using Kamehameha.

Episode was great, Shido's kissing strat was kind of cringy but whatever, it worked.

Also the anime finally got me more interested as we got a new main antagonist that actaully killed some spirits and is a real deal threat, not like the notebook dude that can't seem to win at all.

After the episode, I wrote whatever was going down in my brain but I somehow saved it...

Here it is:
Aright so, that last episode, (edit: this episode) Mio literally killed everyone but Shido (or Shin whatever he goes by now) and Mana. I have absolutely no faith that the mc can pull this one through.
But since there are like 5 more episodes he probally will. I think the options he has are using his talking skills to convince Mio to undo everything, but that would be kind of lame as it is the easy way out. Another thing could be that he ends himself and brings down Mio with him, which kinda makes sense.

One theory I have is that Shido will back in time as he seems to have his powers still from the last episode and there is potential that he may have some of Kurumi's powers as Mio says Shido needs all the spirit's powers for her to come back (I dunno if the subtitles were accurate but that's what I got from them) and bc she comes back, he has GOTTA have them.

What's probably going to happen throghout the next few episodes is that we get some backstory, get that character development to change Mio's feelings, and have Shido sealing her powers with his kiss. Like this happens to almost all the spirit's shido sealed before

Manga readers assured me that this is what they were saving the animation budget for. The epic battle between Shido and Westcott.

Well, so much for that!
