Kabru should have become a detective, not an adventurer. Pretty intriguing character overall.

Shuro looks destroyed asf.

Practically a whole episode focused on a secondary party yet it ended up being just as good as one with the main cast. Well... maybe not at the same level but still pretty interesting nonetheless.

Man I love Kabru, seeing him in
action finally was pretty cool.
I know people here won't like him,
I mean, the responses here say everything;
I think somehow he has an even
worse introduction than the manga,
and yet it'll all be great when everyone
will start cheering for him later on...
...
(if we get there)

Was kinda disappointed with the serpent
fight scene. Somehow, for a lot of action
scenes, the manga's action shots flow way
better than the anime. This is just one of
many other examples.

Also we really
did lose one of the
best manga panels

The chapter between Kabru
and Chilchuck going his way
is missing.

I still can't trust Kabru, he seems very suspicious... his words, the way he talks, how he doesn't want the dungeon to be conquered by Laios and Falin, etc. And now he wants to use Shuro, right? I keep hoping that he and his party will be humbled by Laios' party...

Anyway... Shuro's party! There seems to be a cat girl in there, hahaha. Tade is so cute too!

I honestly found the episode a little boring through the first half, it picked up though and changed my opinion on Kaburos party as a whole. I thought they were good adventurers if a little naive, they aren’t. Although their combat against monsters leaves a lot to be desired (they keep on dying man), the way they move is calculated, political, they know politics, what moves who and take advantage of it, which makes them seem a tad bit scummy. In contrast with Laios party where Senshi is the one that somehow has a political bone and managed to get them to the lower level, they’re unaware of the politics behind the dungeon. Monsters though? They slice and dice through them, especially Laios resident monster nerd, makes it so that they already know every monsters weakness, and he can think quickly in situations regarding them. Again, contrasted with Kaburo that was looking for the catheroid artery on a snake, instead of a specific weak point.

Highlight on the party being scummy, somehow he believes only he is capable of ruling the dungeon, and the party just feeds his ego instead of placing some sense like stop dying and focus on leveling up, study monsters and attack patterns, they just tell him he’s the best. I’m desperate to see him be humbled. Also yes, I agree the siblings are too focused on their own thing to be the dungeon rulers, they are so dense, but they’re the ones that have the most capacity to rule the dungeon (from what we’ve seen). Which makes them enemy #1 in their eyes.

Btw the corpses are VERY unlikely to be found as they’re going to be eaten by water monsters, just take the money, you already stole their food, and killed them, they won’t need it anymore. It won’t give you any moral high ground, they’re dead.

Ohh new OP (I miss Sleep Walking Orchestra already!) and ED with new characters, and more fleshing out of the story of others.

Kabru seems inexperienced but he's actually sharp, and he gave a very close recounting of events based on his conjectures alone.

Toshiro might have dragged the rest of his clan that's currently on the island or something, he looks haggard. As Namari said (as I recall but I could be wrong), he does deeply care about Falin as confirmed by one of the statements of his followers.
You see there's no need to wonder where your god is,
Coz he's right here! ...and he's fresh out of mercy.

Reading anime-only's comments about Kabru makes me realize how wonderful his character building is in the following story. I think Kui deliberately picture Kabru like this at this point of the manga (in the manga he is even more creepy), and the reaction is what Kui was expecting.

Great, it's time to get back to cooking up nutritious and well-balanced meals from monsters!

The 2nd Cour's OST is here, featuring sumika's OP and Regal Lily's ED, and once again Trigger disappoints, whether that be in visuals or the song itself. However, the ED sounds good.

Laios and his companions opt for a retreat from the dungeon. Meanwhile, in a previous moment in time, Kabru's group, having faced annihilation once more, are fortunate to be revived by the Tansu party. Despite this, they've lost their provisions and are in the midst of withdrawing when they encounter an ambush by mermen in the mist. Kabru experiences a strong sense of deja vu as he observes the actions of the assailant fishfolk.

It looks like the Kabru party chasing Laius and his group and getting defeated might happen again and again. It's interesting to see how different they are from each other. Even without the theft misunderstanding, there was bound to be conflict between them. Kabru and his group think they're morally superior, but their belief feels genuine. That's how self-righteousness works—you twist everything to fit your own ideas. I always knew Kabru was the "holier than thou" type, thinking he can do no wrong.

We finally see what the other guy who left the party is up to, and surprise, surprise, he's searching for Falin...

my thoughts exactly, only coupled with the fact that they are also relatively incompetent to be in a bigger party and still be less knowledgeable and fail mortally more often.

my hope is they don't 'luck' into defeating the dungeon like they have lucked into being revived twice and saved once already.

Kabru proves to be a true-blood adventurer, it seems.
And Tade is showing some good thigh supremacy there.

Anyway, I should've thought Falin will once again be separated, especially since she is not in the promotional posters of this anime when the 2nd half of the cour was announced 😆

Kind of amusing seeing Kabru's perspective. Also, It's like he made himself judge, jury and executioner the way he killed the corpse revival party.

I'm guessing Shuro is days behind Laios' party for doing the conventional thing and resupplying on the surface, instead of hunting and gathering food from within the dungeon.

While this episode wasn't on Laios and his group at all, it's nice to see more of the other characters that we've seen so far. Kabru and his group have some interesting personalities. Despite being revived for the second time, the way that he dealt with his party being hit by the illusion magic shows that Kabru and his crew can hold their own in a fight pretty well.

Heck, Kabru went one step further after catching the grubby gravedigger crew by killing them outright and dumping the bodies in the lake. Brutal indeed...

After that, when it looked like Kabru's group would be taken down by the monsters in the lake, Shuro's party arrived to save them. Considering how smart he looked before, seeing Shuro with an unshaven face was a surprise. Still, it looks like both parties will be working together, so I do see another episode in the future focusing on them again soon.

Since this is the second cour, we got new OP and ED songs to enjoy. The new OP song, while not as good as Bump of Chicken's OP previously, is a nice and happy jam. As for the ED, I think I might like it more than the previous ED song and that one was pretty good, too.

I was expecting the new OP to be darker, but it's not bad, the ED, on the other hand, I liked.

I thought Kabru and his companions were going to die for the third time, but they survived... Now, Kabru turned out to be quite the Sherlock Holmes, with very accurate deductions. Although I was a bit unsettled by how he portrayed the Touden siblings in the end, it made them seem like despite all we've seen from them (well, from Laios, since the sister spent most of her time in the dragon's stomach haha), well, they don't seem to have very good intentions...

Anyway, I hope they clarify that point. What really makes me impatient is that I also want both groups to meet, but now! And I have a suspicion that at some point, Kabru's group will save Laios's group, or at least they'll join forces at the climax of a great battle that decides the fate of the entire dungeon.

The 2nd Cour's song of sumika's OP and Regal Lily's ED...a rather disappointing OST as compared to the 1st Cour which is amazing.

While Laios and gang went back to the surface, Tansu revives Kabru and his party, who were assulted by the fish-men, and they should be glad that they're still alive in the dungeon. But a fog that shrouds his entire party, he's the only one intact to realize that he's fighting his own party members in an illusion, though the way he disarmed Rin by kissing her, it was definitely unexpected, though they're others to consider as well. The corpse retrievers following Kabru and his party from behind to loot their thieves of Laios and the gang, it's definitely taking things in the wrong direction, though he handles opponents with a swift hand to not be taken advantage of that easily. The dungeon needs to be eradicated of monsters and creatures, and Kabru's group wants to make it happen so that the dungeon is not taken liberally as a hunting profit ground.

Kabru and his party trying to figure out Laios and the gang's intents, he certainly figured out the siblings of Laios and Falin, though with Marcille as well being in the same magic academy, it's all not a coincidence. And even then, a sea serpent where another group got the dibs before them, and Laios and gang wanting a way out but hitting dead-ends everywhere, when will they ever reach the surface?

A decent side story of all things.

So we’re here at the second cour and we got a new opening and new ending and tbh I’m not really feeling the 2nd opening as much as I did for the first opening I mean Bump of Chicken is just superior in how catchy and how good it sounds but I do like the visuals tho they’re amazing, as for the ending song that shit is a banger I really like it than the new opening, it’s just catchy and kinda heartfelt like they’re journey is gonna come to an end soon type of vibe🔥🔥🔥

We finally got an episode focused on Kanye and his crew and tbh it was a nice change of pace I’m happy bro deducted that Laios is the one he’s looking for and that Falin is the one missing this guy is a goddamn detective his deducting skills but lowkey he kinda gave me stalker vibes with the way he knew so much about their crew like why was he even creeping on them that much LMAO😭😭😭

They’re crew keeps fucking dying and idk why they don’t pursue different careers bc clearly adventuring is not for them with the amount of times they’ve died I mean this makes this what, like the second or third time they’ve died hahaha like these guys are not cut out for this🤣😭🤣😭💀

I’m so happy we got more Rin screentime it’s so soothing hearing Takahashi Rie speak it’s just so nice and now that I hear her talk more I noticed that she’s using the same tone of voice she used when she voiced Shino from Girlfriend Girlfriend which lowkey…is my favourite type of voice from her other than her Megumin voice🥰😍🥰

The samurai crew was fresh as shit and it looks like bro felt guilty for leaving Laios and them and came back to save Falin and I’m hoping Kabru and his crew join them and they meet Laios Marcille Chilchuck and Senshi👀

For as much as Kabru seems to be good at deducting certain situations I'm a bit surprised that he thinks Laios' group is up to no good and that's after he realized that they put a spell on them to protect them. Perhaps once it is revealed that the "treasure" that they think was stolen actually killed them then maybe he'll come to his senses and show some humility, and hopefully that happens before some party members from their groups hurt each other.

Advantages:
The brand-new OP and ED are a dream of Laios's harmonious coexistence with monsters for OP, and Marucil's confession about chasing Farlin and the lifespan gap for ED. The melody and singing style of ED made me want to cry, and it brought new supplementary story scenes from the original author.
The animation of Kaburu killing the two corpse collectors meets expectations.
Laios chill senshi, the laughter in the scene of the three embracing is well restored.
The drawings of the characters' faces and bodies are stable. When the handsome Oriental team appears, the quality of the action scenes meets expectations.

Disadvantages:
Since it is an episode that transitions to introducing new characters, there are no scenes featuring the main characters.

The other team is interesting and world building is expanding, The Kabru team want to defeat the lord of dungeon and make the dungon gone for good while the eastern team want to find Falin. Kabru is clever guy and he got an idea who's stealing their food . The eastern team is good in sword prowess and that scene was smooth. The Laios team are goofy as ever and a group of joker, never changing. Everyone have direction of their own maybe they will intertwined and meet in middle way, it interesting if they cooperated together someday

Ah so we back onto Kaburu party again after they tried following Laios trail, and failed. To think that they met with Namari research party tho and being revived by them. A coincidence or a pure fate? Here comes his skill to lead his party against all the oddity. The deduction of him quite nice, and his battling stance actually not bad. But still in big question how the hell he manage to get caught off guards by the previous pity ambush from before, the one with the bug treasure, and the fish-men? Also he's so lucky manage to find Shuro as well there. The member been complete, as how Namari more or less heading toward the same direction, itd seems. So yeah, like what happened to Laios down there, looks like there'll be no turning back to the surface. Let's venture deep more into the depth of the dungeon, and defeat the crazy dark elf maniac which become the lord of those dungeon...

New op and ed.

The old op sounds great but it uses old school imagery. The new one is cute.

Both the old and new ed are cute

Anyway, who would think that the incompetent kids has the guts to kill. They're used in this episode to characterise our main party. Chilchuck said something to the effect of not trusting anyone who claims who will work for you for free. He might have some skeletons in his closet.

And we get to see Laios' former comrade!

Dungeon Meshi Episode 14

- We see Kabru's party again coming back from the dead.
- Kabru is an interesting character. He is a borderline psycho and a genius with his deduction skills. His only weakness is fighting monsters but he can easily kill any human-like being in cold blood.
- Rin is another waifu material.
- Seems like there are rumors circulating about the party of Laois like that of Chilchuck and the parent of Namari.
- We are introduced to the party of Shuro which is made up of unique beings. He probably left the party of Laois to get backup from his country to help search for Falin. He really is infatuated with her, and now he looks restless and concerned.
- Can't wait to see the cat character in the mask. The dog person looks annoyed with her.

Ok, somehow i instantly hate this "Shuro" guy. He just left and walked away from his party. And the look he gave was disgusting. One thing that i know about him is he loves Falin.

The image from episode 8

And suddenly, he came back, looked depressed, with his ugly beard on his face. Feel like he is the one who felt lost the most.

The image from episode 14

And if he really, really wanted to save Falin, he's absolutly too late. cuz Falin is already disgested.

Luckily, Laios, Marcille, and their party successfully saved Falin.

Kabru finally shows his true colors. He’s not the great guy they made him out to be. Yes he cares about the island and the people but he’s more concerned with becoming the Islands lord. And he finds flaws in everyone else besides himself. He talked shit about Laios and his sister because they have gold to injured party members? But it was the party members who pretended they were injured so they could retired. And so far everything Laios has done is noble, he made of made mistakes but that was for the sake of saving his sister. He didn’t lie or deceive anyone nor did he kill anyone like Kabru did. This guy thinks his shit don’t stink. And even his party members look down on everyone thinking they are better. And now Kabru is going to lie to Shino and most likely use him and deceive him. Honestly Laios was to nice and should have left them for the ghosts.
