| I'm glad that this episode showed us more of the past of Itsuomi, Emma and Shin when they were friends hanging out all of the time back in high school. It was how Emma and Shin became friends that I found to be interesting, as Emma was having a tough time making, or rather, staying friends with other girls her age because of how many of them idolised Itsuomi. I can respect her for the stance that she took to do things her own way. Having said that, it did mean that Shin was stuck between a rock and a hard place. He had feelings for Emma, but she was too busy going after Itsuomi so much that he did date someone else, which didn't last long. Even during the present, when he was styling Emma's hair, his attempt to talk to her was abandoned when she mentioned Itsoumi once again and how she loves him. It's easy to say things like "Stop hesitating and just confess already!" in a form of criticism, but for the way Shin acts, I think that sort of approach would make things worse, as you're simply rushing things forward just for the sake of it due to one's own impatience and that doesn't always end well. Hopefully within time, Emma will learn the truth about Itsuomi and Yuki being a couple and hopefully she'll be able to move on from him. Only when that happens, Shin will have a decent chance of finally confessing to Emma. He's a nice guy, so I hope it'll work out for him if things do go down this route. =) Not only that, but he's glad that Itsoumi is dating Yuki and wishes for pair well. With that done, I do look forward to the cute sign language boot camp that Itsuomi is eager to do with Yuki, Rin and Kyouya. =) |

Well this episode was pretty harsh the second part at least Shin not being able to start a romantic relationship is a bid sad.
Ema seems pretty obsessed with itsuomi tho which makes me wonder how she will react to the relationship and towards Yuki.

I'd take a prequel spin off them 3 during their school days.
| @Builder45 i doubt it'd be that interesting, you have a girl who loves a guy that doesn't want a relationship and a guy who's in love of with the girl that's in love with the romantically unavailable guy, you can't stretch that to even 6 episodes let alone half a cour, there wasn't much drama or relationships going on to keep things fresh or relevent, it was a certain period of time that didn't last that long, unless the author does make a prequel he's gonna need to expand on the high school period history and even then he's gonna need to have already established a connection in the present events that were there in the past like the feelings of emma for itsu and shin for emma and the CD on the shelf, besides those so far the past seems dry and devoid of any connections with the future. |

Thats quite the CD collection that Shin has. Yea i would see Itsu dating a foreign girl as well. Things between Itsu, Shin and Emma sound complicated. The insight into how Shin, Itsu and Emma met in high school though was pretty insightful. I feel for Shin though because despite his own feelings for her Emma's feelings towards Itsu is just too deep. Incoporating the next ep preview into the ending was pretty smart.

| That meetup went fairly well in a casual sense. Nice seeing Yuki try and express love for Itsuomi. Amusing seeing Itsu realize Yuki misread his lips before. I totally get high school Emma with what she was saying basically being let down by others. It sucks. Shin actually is really nice. I didn't see it before but do now. Kind of hard to watch what him go through such familiar feelings. So many sad lonely people. First Oushi, then Emma, now Shin too. 😭 Yuki has the cutest smile. |

| Itsuomi introduces Yuki as his girlfriend to Shin, surprising him not only because it's sudden but also because Itsuomi seems genuinely in love. Shin offers his full support to the couple. This episode provides a glimpse into the lives of Itsuomi and Emma, but from Shin's perspective. It's tough to see how Shin suppresses his feelings for Emma just to ensure her happiness with Itsuomi. Unfortunately, Itsuomi never considered dating Emma, and Emma stopped liking Itsuomi. I can imagine that when Emma finds out about Itsuomi dating Yuki, it will break her heart. Tough luck for Emma, but I prefer Yuki. |

| @kisaragi_eki you need to learn to put pics inside spoilet tags.... also it could be considered spoilers because at times animes show scenes further ahead or before in the series even if they seem to be animating the whole thing quite closely to the original so you don't know if you are spoiling beforehand or not and it kinda takes away the want of others to look at the manga if you post everything that is missing;; |

it's not a spoiler imo they adapted the whole chapter and they add original flashback scene but only this scene that they cut.

| @kisaragi_eki again, you never know if they will add such scenes later on it's not uncommon at all for animes to do that especially if they end up making a special OVA with some missing bits and scenes again, you need to put manga panels in spoiler tags regardless (it's actually surprising you have not been called out by a mod yet for not doing that) |

| This show reminds me of when some comedic anime have a scene showcasing a cheesy romance manga where you see the black and white panels and everything, voice acted, a lot of "doki doki" and kabedon moments, usually with the MC reading it sheepishly in bed. I can already tell that Emma and Shin will get together eventually, cause this show is so standard in almost everything it does. This show is carried hard by it's production, that's for sure. Simplicity can be nice though, so I do get the love for this show. |

| When it comes to sabotaging oneself, I don't know who's better at it between Shin and Oushi. Anyways, first somewhat interesting episode since the show started. Despite being bland asf, Shin and Emma's story already seems far more engaging than whatever the main couple has done so far. Emma's reason for liking Itsuomi FOR YEARS couldn't have been more stupid tho... but it fits her character, I guess. |
| Ah man this show just grows on me more and more every week. The romance is so adorkable - I absolutely love it. I'm pretty invested in the Shin/Emma story as well. They've hooked me for sure. This is a great romance. |

| I love every moment with Itsu and Yuki. They are such a cute couple <3 The flashback was... interesting. Personally I still don't like Ema. Of course it's terrible if your feelings are not reciprocated but she is clinging onto Itsu a little too much even after all this time. Can't say it's much different with Shin but I do relate a little more with him. Except for the fact he got a girlfriend just to get over Ema or just because... But I can totally understand why he said he'd prefer it if Itsu and Ema became a couple sooner or later so he could get over her more easily. That one hit too close to home... Vut now he sees Itsu is in a happy relationship. Honestly, I'm not really shipping Shin and Ema just for the fact that Shin seems to be great and there is something about Ema that just bothers me and probably won't change. Looking forward to that sign-language camp and finally some more time with Kyo and Rin (and I'm still shipping them :D). Also possibility of some cute moments between our main couple ♥ |

It was cool to see their story at school together, but this Ema, I can't sympathize with this girl, come on friend, the line moves, move forward
| @pansz i think he was being considerate of her feelings, basically telling her his feelings and then saying her love interest has a gf now so stop pursuing him, that makes him look opportunistic and selfish and worse, inconsiderate of how heartbroken and sad she will be at that moment, that's what i think his hesitation stems from, he cares for her too much to be selfish for even a second, as i'm sure you've noticed. |

@Kirito_online I believe he was being attentive to her, but she should understand that Itsu doesn't want anything to do with her, after trying for so long with her, if he didn't respond, that's it, stop trying, understand?

| @pansz she's just stubborn like that apparently, i mean she did say she confessed to him many times, Itsu knows about her feelings and she knows he knows about her feelings for him, but she keeps on trying on the hopes he might one day open up to her feelings (basically wishful thinking on her side) and it's sad to know she's never gonna have him, things will change, it's gonna happen I didn't read the manga but i know how drama works, she'll realize Shin's feelings for her if he didn't already confess, it will happen, and i strongly believe she'll accept his feelings. |

I also wonder what it is about her voice that gets her these "second-place girl" roles... |

@Kirito_online I also haven't read the manga, but I believe it will happen as you said, she will understand that Shin was the one who loved her and she will have to accept that Itsu is dating her, but I hope she doesn't try anything bad against MC
| @pansz after that scene where she said out loud that she's giving him the keys to his apartment when he let her stay the night so Yuki will hear and cause her to think she has no chance with him or that Itsu is sleeping with her (luckily Yuki didn't hear anything), if she was willing to do that dirty trick she might do it again, but i feel like Yuki and Itsu are familiar enough with each other now that whatever she tries Itsu will be on to her the moment he feels smth's off, he's very protective of her, but the chances of her doing smth bad to Yuki is very low, the Author surely wants us to love her so we can cheer on Shin to confess to her and be happy for both of them instead of seeing her being bitter and vengeful. |

| Shin being surprised that Itsuomi introducing Yuki as his girlfriend, it was pretty anticlimactic, but thankfully turned out OK. Both Itsuomi and Yuki shared their experiences with Shin, though the latter is still quite surprised at knowing how Yuki is affectionate for him through sign. The biggest bombdrop however, is Emma, and she'll not be able to overcome this. Still though, Shin's a good buddy, and trying to kiss each other with signals, it just feels too bubbly and high-spirited with blushes here and there. Between Shin and Kyouya about Emma, she has always been like the pinball going back and forth between friends...so how will she handle the truth? The spring break is over, and they're back to college, with a new feeling for Yuki. When it came to Emma however, Shin having to break the news to her in subtle ways yet capture his attention back in their school days when she was heads over heels with Mr. Worldwide Itsuomi, though her attention to Shin isn't spared because of their music interests, as they eventually walked side by side like friends. To Shin, Emma captured his vision as much as she had laid her eyes on him since the very first day he came into school, and both guys have had their experiences in the stereotypical love triangle, though he'd fervently lie for having feelings for her. And now, it's the exact same feeling that he can't exactly bring himself to tell her the truth. The group date of 4 again...going to a sign language bootcamp day trip? That sounds delightful! |

| Great episode showing some backstory to the three friends. I like Emma better now. She seems like a nice person to be honest. She doesn't judge, and she seems kind. I didn't like her at first because I thought she was pushy. Well, she is still pushy but I get the impression that if she finds out the truth she can give up. She seems like a strong person who can go through life's troubles. I just hope she finds out from Shin instead of finding out by herself. And I totally ship Shin x Emma. I can't help but support Shin's long-time one-sided love. |

| It's a shame Shin is still waiting to ask Emma out, he should have make a move much sooner even though she is in love with Itsuomi, it might have shown her that there was other options out there... It's going to be a bloodbath when Emma learns that Itsuomi is dating Yuki! |
| Shin was the main reason why I wanted to watch this show and even though I came for him I'm pleasantly surprised how much I've enjoyed the entire show and literally every character. I wish I knew what song he was listening to during their school days, sounded really nice :/ |
