I think it's pretty much impossible to try and copy a character's feelings in this show regardless how well technology has advanced. Besides that, we got some final moments between Hikaru and Risa in this show. It was a relatively safe episode imo, didn't try anything overdramatic and explored more of emotions for different characters. |

The deal to meet Michi to find out where the exact copy of his mother might be, Sudo takes a gamble, and Michi finds her location in a war-ravaged area, though all protections are given for support. With that information, Sudo bades a sudden farewell to Risa being a family problem that does not suit outsiders. For a Humaoid who have spent so much time with him, this feels like a betrayal to her values of why he cared for her so much. But that's also part of his personality, which his imprisoned biological mother knows best. Therefore, Sudo wanting Seto to take over his Novo Clinic and employ Risa, this is as much of a pressing issue for him to find his mother quick. And with the way that Sudo is, Risa is not happy that Seto is taking over the clinic, even if Jay is there for assistance. And the quesitoned posed by the lil' girl, she finally understands Sudo's intent on why copying is a bad idea. Sudo still wants Risa to join him, but she's only going as far as the airport to see him off. And despite him retracting his words to her, Sudo does care for Risa. Kind of an intriguing show, but its content...can be questionable at times, for good or bad. Average production from Madhouse... |

Awww for me it was in top3 this season. Except maybe two episodes, loved every inch of the series. So many topics which we may face in the near future as hoomans. It is not obvious that it is going to have next season. If yes, I cheer for creators to keep the level. Aaaaaand proud to say that in the year of AI, this is 500th title on my anime list. :) |

I must admit the ending was quite disappointing because it still left me with the question: why Sudo is so obsessed with finding his mother's copy? I mean, if the episode had shown him finding her, maybe we could have gotten the answer or maybe it was hinted at some point and I just didn't get it, but even so... it left me to wonder why, because that was the "hook" of this show and I believe at the end of the show we should have gotten an answer to that. However, the only saving grace was the fact Risa and Sudo managed to say their goodbyes and Sudo promised to return for her. Here's to hope they'll do a second season where we'll get to learn the answer. (Not to mention learn about those stories that were hinted at in the ED, but never made it to the actual show.) |

And that's the end of the show. I really, really enjoyed this series and I wouldn't mind watching more of it. @Tuliharja He answered this question during his night call with Risa: even if she's a copy she's still his mother, and that's why he wants to find her no matter what. I think it's a pretty reasonable motive. |

the story format didn't sit well with me, most of the episodes had somewhat independent storylines and I didn't expect them to bring the main plot back, right in the last 2 episodes. At first, I didn't remember Sudo even had a mom. i assume they mentioned her in the very first or 2 episode. interesting show nonetheless |

I think this anime is niche. Excellent for a particular public. And it should have been emited on noitamina by the way. Because it is niche it should be rated that way. To most it will be an average 6 anime, to me is a 8 great anime. The ending is truth to the narrative of the series. It was not about the answers but the questions. |

Why did the story change so drastically? It began as a Black Mirror series of cautionary tales, and abruptly became Moby Dick, with an insane doctor running off to the Middle East to chase a backup copy of his mother. There's no logic to Sudo's decisions at all. |

I believe working at the clinic made his resolve stronger to find his mother's copy . He has met so many different humanoids and witnessed thr struggles . Risa's copy was in a mess due to past memories she didn't recognize and feeling out of place his mom's copy could also be in a similar position . It's clear he wants to help her just like all his patients Also I'm sure he blames himself for getting his mom into this mess that was his driving force before but now he has a reasonable motive thanks to his experience at the clinic |

Interesting how this anime talk a lot about the questions about AI evolution and how would be part of the society (this part remember Vivy and Beatless a lot). But the story itself looks like this season was more like an prologue to build Sudo, now he's in his mission that was setted on the first episode, now he finally can look for his mother copy and get the possibility to help her. It would be great to see how the story could evolve from this part, but unfortunatelly the anime market it's hard to accept something that have this slow world creation. |

Finally able to sit down and watch the finale and nah man they gotta season 2 me RIGHT NOW. They wait until the last two episodes to turn up the plot 😩 so much good stuff in this finale, where to start. Following up on where we left off last week with Sudo and Risa’s date. Things were going so well until Sudo dropped that bombshell. You could really see Risa’s heart break in half when he called her an outsider. I know that he was trying to make it easier on himself to be able to leave her behind, but that was harsh. Michi is up to something for sure and I hate that the show never really touched on his goals or ambitions. He’s dead set on getting Sudo to go to look for his mother. Need to know what his grand scheme is. “There are problems in the world that don’t have the right answer” such a powerful line from Sudo’s mom. It’s ok to not know everything and rely on your friends and loved ones for help. Sudo has kind of suffered from his intelligence throughout life. He’s isolated himself from others and given this cold shoulder when deep down he is a sensitive and kind person. Glad he and Risa made up in the end because if they’d left it on the two of them being upset idk what I’d have done lol. Phone call scene was so sweet. Risa been chasing after Sudo for so long. He literally saved her life and gave her new purpose so her feelings are 1000x stronger than the average maiden in love. That hug from Sudo in the end aw 😩 can you imagine the Sudo from just a couple episodes doing that? New haircut, look and more emotional Sudo. I like it. Hope he and Risa can be reunited sooner rather than later And that’s a wrap. What a ride it’s been. I loved the episodic format as it had a lot of thought provoking segments. I just wish they could’ve balanced with more of the main story too, particularly as it relates to michi. I’m cool with not getting everything explained in 12 eps, just don’t wait till the last two lol! Still, one of the most underrated 2023 shows by far. |

Sudo is human and knows from an early age that his humanoid mother did not give birth to him. What if those behind the illegal neural net copying are (one of) his birth parents? Getting the humanoid that "stole" their child in trouble Michi sending Sudo to a warzone is either a test or the long route of eliminating him from the committee. Poppo at the end? lol. |

Isn't that natural?
@WatchTillTandava That's because at first, it didn't seem that self-evident or intuitive, until Risa's case and the conclusion of that little girl's case. Before that Sudo's motive to reach out to the copy of his mother seemed (at least to me) very vague. There was the possibility of him wanting to bring her back and form a family bond with her because he couldn't do so with his real mother (who was in jail). But then later on we learned in the Tui Fui episode, that it seems illegal to at least some degree for the copy to be around the original one. There was also that possibility at the beginning of the series of Sudo wanting to simply bring the copy back to justice and free his mother, but thinking back Tui Fui episode that might or might not be a plausible choice. Then there was also that, he could have destroyed her mother's copy because it wasn't his mother but just a copy. Only the last episode shed light of things how Sudo's view of things changed and it seemed your guess about Sudo wanting to reach his mother because of that seemed plausible. But, Sudo's friend made a valid point: what if his mother's copy has been used for very, very bad things? Will he still see his mother's copy as his 'mother'? Not to mention, at least to me, it seemed Sudo had a very complex relationship with his real mother... So, it just made me wonder, what was Sudo's original reason for wanting to find the copy of his mother? That 'reason' could easily sway his current resolve we saw at the end of the last episode, because his new one, which is 'the copy of my mother is still my mother' could be changed/shattered, if he finds out his mother's copy has indeed been used for evil things... I don't know, that just made me think all that. But thank you for your thoughts, as it helped me to realize at least Sudo's current state of mind of things. |
