| I must have missed something since I dont get why they treated Miyo so poorly but keep her around? Also Miyo was literally warned about this guy but just seeing he's attractive is enough that she seemingly drops her guard entirely? I bet it's probably a case of him not being a bad person just he's difficult to handle being around for certain people but still she doesnt know that. |

| First episode felt like the beginning of those great biopics which always win most of the prizes at art festivals. My only criticism is that the pacing is kinda slow. Other than that, very promising show. |

| Solid start. Judging from how Miyo was treated, it's a good thing that she can leave that place. Going to her arranged partner, it seems like she can tell that Kiyoka Kudou 's not bad as they say the moment she saw him. She deserves happiness after all she's been through. I feel bad for Koji though. |

| Felt like I was watching a movie. The animation is beautiful. I felt for Miyo, the episode did a great job showing how terrible her circumstances were. I can't wait to see the wholesome and romantic moments in future episodes! |
| It wasn't a horrible episode... but it really annoys me she will end happily every after (as of course she would. even if not right away), while Koji would probably get his unhappily ever after... My guess, he's be forgotten :( I really like that fella and I want her with him. Not sure I'll continue. |

| Wow, since when could Kinema Citrus reach "P.A. Works/KyoAni" levels of production quality? This first episode looked absolutely gorgeous. So... why does Kaya have blonde hair whereas both her parents have brown hair? Is the father really that naive? Anyways, it sure sucks for Kouji, huh? The love of his life is gonna marry the hottest ikemen in town while he's condemned to a hellish life with that blonde bitch. |
| Technically not a lot happened in this episode but I still really enjoyed it. Animation is beautiful and the stuff about Mio's past was told effectively through visuals with no dialogue. Looking forward to episode 2 very much! |
| Well watching this episode just kinda pissed me off lol, not only because the female MC got treated like Cinderella and doesn't speak up at all, but also cause I feel really bad for the guy who likes her. He's forced to marry someone who is a piece of shit and treats his crush horribly, while the female MC will get to be with a guy who obviously is actually really nice once you get to know him (hope it's not that simple, but I've seen way too many romance in which the male is initially described as "cold" and "merciless" but he turns out to actually be super soft). If he just gets forgotten like that and left to his horrible fate, argh... The visuals really are beautiful though. I hope the female MC learns to speak up and doesn't just have a "meek but super kind" personality. |

I think Miyo doesn't speak up because she's been beaten down so much. She's been made to feel small by those around her and tries to make herself smaller to protect herself. I don't see it as a character flaw but as an effect of the abuse she's endured for a lot of her life. I'm sure she'll change I some way over the course of the series now that she will be in a different environment away from those people. |

But yeah it's just the first episode, I'm sure she'll start showing more "human emotions" and stuff. |

| it was hard to watch how her family treated her also feels bad for the other guy who had to marry the sister and not her that being said, now that she met the new guy, let's see how it goes from here... apparently all the other wives have left him, so he might not be the easiest person, and Miyu doesn't seem to be the most talented person either, not to mention he doesn't like how much she apologises |

| One of those seasonal anime that flew under my radar, but which I'm glad I caught. Beautiful animation as has already been stated, this feels like a movie. And it's a story that I've quickly got invested in; seeing Miyo's life and being treated in such a way she didn't deserve, and then being put with a man that we know eventually, in good old shoujo fashion, will give her some of that happiness which she does deserve. Again, so glad I didn't miss out on this. I just hope it remains this overall more somber tone, and doesn't go all goofy with chibi sh*t and what not. But I don't believe it will. This seems like a bit more of a serious drama. Looking forward to next week. |

I hadn't thought of that, but now that you mention Jane Austen I kind of see it,in terms of marriage being used by the families for practical and social means, not with love or romance as the main reason. |
