Didnt really meet my expectations, episode 12 introduced so many things that they for sure couldnt be resolved in the last episode and they really weren't. Left me confused yet craving more, since the anime as a whole was really fun. |

This is going to come out wrong, but I'm not sure that this anime should have existed. It's very bad as a self-contained story since none of the mysteries set at the start are resolved by the end, and even worse, some like Robin lead to a very anti-climactic resolution. And from what I know, there's less material left in the manga than what's already covered by this cour of the anime, meaning an anime advert of the manga doesn't make sense at this point (the serialisation seems to be going very slow too). Overall I'll have to rate this anime adaptation on its own merits and I can barely give it a 6/10 while maybe 5/10 is an even better fit. Let's be fair, what did the anime even provide us with, except for fantastic visuals and a decent music production? To me, a story should lead somewhere, unless it's a completely different type of storytelling, like say Mushishi for example, but Tengoku Daimakyou is obviously not aiming for that. Conclusion: 5/10, if this was released later into the future as an advert of a manga nearing its end it would at least work well for that purpose. |

Overall, I really enjoyed this series. I haven't watched an anime before that had two timelines, I liked how it wasn't obvious and we slowly figure that out. My fav eps were 1, 8, 12. The hints and dialogue are subtle and feel natural, (unlike another show this season lol) examples: Kiruko saying ''I'm a man too'' in the first ep as a silly joke, Mimihime telling Tokio that when she thinks of the outside she can see 2 people coming to meet her, one resembling Tokio's face, which did a good job making me think early on they lived in the same timeline. Excited for a 2nd season |

Finally this divisive garbage of a show has ended. I would say good bye for good, but I know this filthy agenda pushing anime will be back for S2, heck maybe even with a S3 all because we have to push "the message" 24-7-365. And then the allies of the community when confronted by the fact that the acceptance of lgbt's is falling all around the board & the world they all make the face stupid pikachu face. With shows like this one I ain't surprised to see those numbers going down. |

This episode solidified the series as 8/10 for me. Yes, partly due to Robin existing and livening shit up like it's supposed to be in a believable post-apocalyptic world. Also, the ntr drama in this one is just great, it's better written than it had any right to be in such an obscure series. Gimme more of this post-apocalyptic chaotic world that the mangaka, and the anime team, don't shy away from making realistic and thus full of shit unthinkable in a functioning lawful world (which it isn't which is, in turn, the point). |

for a final this was underwhelming, mostly the last scene with the kids on the boat came out of nowhere. Though Maru and Kiruko having a talk and getting ready to move on to the next adventure was nice. Im usually not one to say this but I think the rape scene last ep was unnecessary. If you wanted to have Kiruko grow past Robin you could have just shown him beeing an ass, apparently he even did shady experiments, thats reason enough.. She did not even really react to it at all and I doubt it will ever come up again in the sense of trauma. While that sounded pretty negative I absolutely loved the show overall. Aside from Oshi no Ko its definitely my favourite this season. The characters felt fresh and the setting is pretty interesting, its almost anthology like with them moving from location to location and having new adventures, but it still keeps an overall plot going. I definitely want to read the manga now, I had a quick look at the chapter titles to guess where to start and it seems this season almost adapted everything? |

The anime cut some interesting parts (it's understandable, that's what adaptation is about) and many small details can be spotted again when revisiting the story. It's not that long either, so it's worth it. |

Hmm I don't know, the whole aftermath of the rape was weird. For how traumatic it seemed in the previous episode, I feel like it didn't have the importance one would have expected and they turned the page too quickly. It's not like this could be the only thing we see on the subject, but we won't really know until a second season. For now, the rape feels unnecessary. Even without it, Robin was already a piece of shit who seems to have already abused the og Kiruko and was performing some fucked up experiment. No mercy for him next time. On the academy side, Mimihime giving the button to Shiro is so damn sad knowing their fates. And what the hell with Tokio's power?! And that's it for this series. Except for the rape part which was its lowest point, I definitely found it to be a show that is at the top of the season. Super interesting and intriguing with its 2 points of view, pretty likeable protagonists, top production values, engaging and very fun. I need a second season 10/10. |

I wonder which child in the Heaven facility became the thing locked up in the plant attached to a human. I also wonder what exactly the big calamity that messed up the world was, when civilization was still operating just fine when the kids escaped Heaven. Do the kids somehow cause an apocalypse with their powers later? We'll have to wait until the next season to find out I suppose. |

This was one of my favorite animes of the season but unfortunately the final episode did not tie everything together as I hoped it would. Regarding the final episode, I was kind of hoping that Maru would've finished off Robin but for some reason Kiruko wanted him spared. Only good thing I can say about that is that maybe Robin can explain what the heck was that thing he kept in the locked closet (before he's killed). It's sad what happened to Kiruko but it looks like that thing in the closet had it worse. Regarding the facility, that director officially has gone crazy and what the heck happened to her when she tried to grab Tokio's baby? Looks like some type of defensive ability. And is that the real baby or the alleged clone? Also, Mimihime saved by Shiro, I was curious if we would've seen how she ended up immovable and in bandages but no, oh and what of the younger kids that were going to be turned to maneaters? Oh and speaking of maneaters, what about the one that was in the parking garage that Maru missed killing? There are so many unanswered questions but nonetheless I really liked this anime. Every episode felt short since I was so engrossed. The animation was great, the storyline and plot were top notch, and so was the art-style. Only minor gripe is that the characters designs, while mostly fine, had an episode where they had exaggerated reactions which was a bit jarring for me but I understand that was due to a special guest director. Only other minor gripe was that this story is not concluded so again I hope for a 2nd season or at least OVA(s) if that's not possible. 9/10 |

Yeah, I was quite bothered by it too at first; now it doesn't take more than a few seconds to recognize posts like that and skip them. Stll a bother that I would prefer not to deal with, tbh. Personally it reminds me of a high school... you know when you're required to write an essay on the thing you've read, but you don't give a shit about that and had a shallow read(if at all), so you have to at least fill the paper with 'something' to get a passing score, and you just retelling the plot with your own words... I feel like saying more will be quite offensive, so I'd like to refrain from doing that. |

So..... - Events in the Tengoku Complex was in the past, before the end of the world, what explains why Maru/Kiruko can find a lot of products only 7 or 10 years older than the expiry date. - MARU = TOKIO/KONA'S BABY, the real one because he has special abilities. - DOCTOR = SAWATARI, the glasses guy. - USAMI = SHIRO, the nerdy boi who loves Mimihime. - MIMIHIME = Stayed together to Usami until her end. - ANZU = the woman who died after give Maru the Super-laser and gave his mission. - TAKA = ?? Robin?? - OONA (sunglasses girl) = the monster who was in Usami's underground parking I can't complain, this crazy plot was well written so far. But there's a risk that the next explanations turn it all a mess. It's not easy fir any author to asspull an agreable explanation when the bar of the misteries is set too high. Let's see, and let's go to the manga, as usual lol |

I didn't like it as much. I feel like the shock of the last episode lingered over it. I think the identity crisis is absolutely called for, but I also think there should of been a little more power behind the end of the season. Nothing really extreme happened besides us seeing Toki turn into a man eater and the kids arriving to a city which leads me to believe that they were the cause of the end of civilization which was kinda heavy ngl but it didn't leave the impact I needed. |

Softhenic03 said: Kids did arrive at the outside of the outside, but being sheltered within a facility for so long with absolutely no contact to the real world, it goes without saying even walking under normal sun was a tall task for them. Just tells the kind of upbringing they had. Though hey that lady doctor and her glasses fellow do want these kids to escape this facility. That’s when Aoshima came up with the proposal of “NOAH PROJECT”, a project to save these kids. Easier said than done btw, though hey back to controversy again. Can’t believe Kiruko stayed there with Robin for TWO fucking days, and that’s also the amount of days it took Maru to finally take action.. after TWO days. Maru came and Maru just beat the shit out of everyone, but a little too late I must say. I agree with him being considerate of Kiruko but if only he took action a bit earlier.. no that still wouldn't have changed anything in hindsight. Tokio just can’t have it easy, ever, right? Fuck the director. No idea what happened with Tokio back there. Though hey getting a sweet moment there between Mimihime and Shiro.. atleast there’s something good between the clusterfuck. Shiro with his forehead showing is just Usami btw. Maru giving Robin a beating of the lifetime would’ve been a real happy ending, though Kiruko has to stop him right? I mean this is what happens in anime. CURSE THOSE ANIME TROPES. Maru and Kiruko have made up and well as simple as it was, the journey continues… for them. From an adaptation standpoint, to be honest they had almost everything covered. People were calling this a passion project and it does seem like one now. But just wish we would’ve gotten more answers, as for what it is right now, the mysteries outweigh them good time. Still though I will miss this one. Season 2 may come, and if it does hope it retains this quality. Agree! I really agree with your thoughts, fvck Robin for raping her |

Here's a similar example - you don't end Attack on Titan Season 1 after the second titan invasion, because then you're just providing 12 or so episodes of people simply training and fighting mindless monsters. You end the season after the revelation that there are Titan Shifters who are out for blood against the Humanity inside the walls which is huge and really makes you want to see where the story goes from there. With Tengoku Daimakyou the status quo has barely moved from the starting line by the season Finale. If anything, this simply makes me wonder "Why did I spend 13 episodes watching this?" The visuals are nice, but I won't get the same animated quality with the manga. As for the post-apocalyptic setting, sure, that's always fun, but there's a ton of manga like that already. What does Tengoku Daimakyou have to offer over any of those? It's really hard to say judging by this anime's contents. |

And it requires multiple rewatches (I'm still catching new details after third rewatch) I've seen a lot of anime reaction channels on YT, people are confused and barely figured the different timelines... I assume that's because 99% of animes nowadays have to explain everything to the audience through dialogue/monologue exposition... Yo yo yo yo yo!!!!!!! This was one of my best spring animes of the year. I enjoyed everything about it. The mystery, animation and graphics, character development, world building, the op and ed and so much more. Maru and Kiriko/Haruki gave life to this anime. Man, Maru is mf(forgive my language) badass. Damn, he beat Robin to a bloody pulp. The two main scenarios are in Heaven and Hell. The mystery is just so amazing. Dark sci-fi and suspense, brooooo!!!!! Now Anzu, Taka, Mimihime and Shiro are heading towards that city(leaving Heaven) while Maru and Kiriko are(still in Hell) searching for Heaven. Oh man, they'll eventually cross paths I know. I'm not gonna read the manga, hell no!! I wanna keep myself in high suspense. Please I need a season 2 quickly!!!! All in all, this was a fantastic show. 9.5/10 for me. |

Forget about mysteries - clues and hints are mostly useless.Meritas said: Manga reader here. I think a LOT of mysteries were explained and resolved in this season, even for anime-onlys.little if any of the problems and the mysteries were resolved which is just very disappointing The issue is, it's mostly non-verbal (show, don't tell). I'm a huge fan, 9/10 season for me, but don't get me wrong, I also think the finale was anti-climatic as hell and not the best way to sell the manga. Rare L from the anime adaptation team. I'm curious. Please, would you let me know what are the mysteries that you felt unresolved/incomplete? I'd be glad to explain, only if it's explained in the anime, without spoiling the manga of course. I watched Twin No Jutsu reaction, two sisters. They got timeline right by the beginning of ep4. Watching most reactors is just plain infuriating. |

I love this series for doing away with explanations but I've been just kind of assuming that all the explanations are in the future so the only thing I rewatched was ep. 8 and wasn't going to revisit anything else... |

i really liked the show, it was my fav from this season but this final episode was bad, very bad... i dont take final episodes into account for my score though this anime had some fantastic visuals an its characters are charming, the story was interesting for the most part but it does have some weird twists that derailed from an otherwise really cool an misterious world 8/10 |
